I’ve been documenting the day-by-day duck egg hatching journey in my highlights under “🐣”. I have 6 Khaki Campbell/Runner duck eggs in the incubator due to hatch May 11th. So far so good, all of them look like strong little embryos!
I’ve never had an issue taking eggs out from the incubator and candling them. I’m very hands on with my eggs 😂 I love to check on them and I think it’s fascinating. If you think about it, if they were in a nest there would be periods of humidity changes, cool-downs, movement... I’m not too worried about “hurting” an egg simply by removing it and candling it for a few seconds. They’re tough lil guys! I just have to be careful not to drop them 🙈
