  • Jon's relationship with Diane Lane and his marriage to Dorothea Hurley. (PART 2)
A myth installed in the world of rock ensures that the lyrics of "You Give Love A Bad Name" is for the actress, something that both protagonists always denied although the musician did many years later. Maybe because of this love setback, Jon understood that he didn’t need a new woman because he had already met the ideal. So he looked for Dorothea, apologized for leaving her and together they started a new chapter in their lives. One night in April 1989, in the middle of the Jersey Syndicate Tour, at the end of the concert, Jon Bon Jovi asked to his girlfriend to accompany him without asking questions, they got on a helicopter that was waiting for them and went to Las Vegas. There she discovered that everything was ready to marry. Dorothea didn’t hesitate to accept being his wife. Three decades later, the couple is still together, they have had four children and are considered by many one of the strongest marriages in the crazy world of rock. “I'm the visionary, the bohemian with a thousand things in my head and who has a hard time keeping everything united. She is the glue, the thread and the needle to hold the seams in place. I'm very happy" declares Jon. Diane Lane, meanwhile, married in 1988 with actor Christopher Lambert, with whom she had a daughter and from whom she divorced in 1994. Then she lived with director Danny Cannon and remarried, this time with actor Josh Brolin, from whom she separated in 2013.

I hope you all liked this article. I really found it very interesting and I could learn a little more about the short relationship Jon and Diane had. Comment your opinion about this story. And I also hope to have correctly translated this because I remind you that this information was written in Spanish. 😂

  • A month today and I'll turn 40 along with all the other 80s kids. A year ago, I confess to feeling a bit nervous about this particular milestone, because my body has started changing. I found myself reminded of a line in one of Larkin's poems in which the women's beauty is described as 'thickening'. I definitely identify with that description. Aging is definitely scary, because things that have been a part of your identity start to shift. My dark brown hair is starting to turn grey, which alarms me; I've always loved my natural hair colour and have never dyed it. Aging is certainly a slow process of loss, adaptation and acceptance.
However, the closer I get to 40, the more excited I feel. Yes, I'm stiffer, fatter and I regret over plucking my eyebrows in 1998, but I'm more sure of my personal style than ever, more confident than ever, more content than ever, and I've achieved 4 out of 5 of my ultimate life goals. I see 40 as an opportunity to bring about positive changes and set new goals.
If I really think about it, I feel like every age I've been all at once.
I wonder how you feel about age and aging? Is it a game of milestones for you? Do you find it terrifying? Or is it a process of discovery?

Moulin Rouge’s amazing cellist is Claire Bryant. She enjoys a diverse musical career as a performer, professor, and artivist (activist for the arts!). A  founding member of the acclaimed NYC-based chamber music collective, Decoda, she has performed at Carnegie Hall, Southbank Centre, Suntory Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Barbican Centre, among other stages around the world.  She has also performed on numerous Broadway shows as a substitute including Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, Carousel, and many others before coming to the Moulin Rouge.
🎶
Claire is the Assistant Professor of Cello at the University of South Carolina and is the Director of Decoda’s criminal justice initiative, “Music for Transformation”, which brings collaborative  songwriting workshops into SC’s largest maximum security prison, Lee Correctional Institution.
🎶
Claire enjoys practicing yoga, riding her Peloton bike (@codyrigsby is her favorite), playing her new tenor banjo, and cooking delicious meals at home. 🎶
She is a graduate of The Juilliard School and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Follow her @fostermycello or go to www.clairebryant.com for more info.

Did you know that the cello is the instrument thought to most closely mirror the human voice? .
Did you also know that before the 18th century the cello was held upright solely through the strength of the cellist’s legs? It was the thighmaster of the baroque and classical eras. #eighties #1780s
