  • “Assemblage is a process of reconciling & corralling the dissonance [in our lives] & in many cases embracing it despite our rage to order,” says @elliotthundley whose work often focuses on this practice of pinning collected objects and collage to canvas. Chosen as the first artist to participate in @moca’s “Open House” series—which opened this weekend at the museum’s #grandavenue location—Hundley’s curatorial debut includes plenty of #assemblage as well including the two above: his own 2006 Hyacinth and Betye Saar’s 2010 The Destiny of Latitude & Longitude. In his interview with #maxwellwilliams in the #springissue of #lala, Hundley pays tribute to Saar, an LA activist, artist & icon who has inspired him for years. #swipeleft
