// The last few days I have hardly had the words for what happened in my city on Saturday. Many have echoed my personal feelings :: it is surreal. it is heartbreaking. it is enraging. On the day of the shooting, we were headed out to shoot a wedding. Right after the precious couple walked back down the aisle- now husband + wife, everyone coming with great joy to hug them; I looked at Andrew through the glass doors and saw grave concern. I asked him for an update and he said they were discovering that the shooting was racially motivated. My heart sunk and everything in me ached. And then, looking out at everyone celebrating a truly wonderful thing, it hit me- this is life. Life is the heights AND the depths. Life is the babies being born and the tragic destruction of a hurricane. It is weddings and birthdays and hugs and new friends and reunification’s and moments of pure bliss. But it is also cancer and mass shootings and floods and robberies and hurtful words said between lovers. Life is the highs and lows - without the one, the other is not as greatly experienced. I keep thinking of a book I like to read filled with poetry, the Psalms, and how intensely the writers mourn and call out injustice and evil. They then turn to experiencing great joy and love and the conclusion of the whole book [spoiler alert] is tons of gratitude and dancing and celebrating. I have seen this in my city that I love. I have seen a great cloud of darkness cover our city, and yet there are strong beacons of light shining through. They are seen through the people taking action, pursuing change, offering comfort, meeting needs, and protecting us. They are in the hands of my brother-in-law [and many others] nursing the wounds of the victims, in the businesses donating, and in the faces of those illuminated by a candle at a vigil. Evil played out in a horrendous way taking my city to the lowest of lows, but we are determined to also experience the mountaintops. #elpasostrong

I had previously shared an image of this same animal but I prefer this photo. Regarding looks and encounter, this is probably my favorite alterna of the year.
I believe some #fridayintroductions are in order since there’s some fresh faces on my feed 👋🏼 I’m Christy G. - dog mom to my crazy blue heelers, wife to my high school sweetheart Bernie, starter of La Feminista (a super fun girl gang you should probs check out and join [hey, it’s 2019 so boys are welcome too- if that’s your thing]) and photographer of all things creative. I’m a lover of enchiladas and michiladas, my main food group is puffy hot Cheetos and my family is my everything. Glad you’re here, let’s make some noise together ⚡️
Surrogacy is a gift that we as woman have the opportunity to bless others with. To give your body, your time, your energy and your love so selflessly is one of the grandest gestures I can think of. •
Elena was perfectly paired with Chris and Mike on this incredible journey as she holds their baby girl and I am so blessed to have met them and captured photos while the expecting couple flew down for Elena’s 20 week sonogram. ♥️ The surrogacy process is a lengthy one- full of major decisions, lots of trips and loads of trust and I just can’t stop thinking how miraculous it is that this baby girl has been well thought of, planned, prayed and hoped for by more people than she’ll ever know. Love wins, the end.

Hi friends! I have a few things to share and one big announcement, so here we go!
1.) My most significant and most exciting announcement is that Mitchell Photography, LLC has officially renamed and rebranded to Copper Fox Imagery, LLC.
2.) Because the return of my husband is close and I still recover from surgery, I will no longer be booking sessions for 2019 until further notice.
There will be a few Model Calls popping up, so stay tuned.
3.) My new Website won't be live until I added new content, photo's and perks. I apologize for the inconvenience.
4.) I truly appreciate everybody so kind and patient as I take one of the make steps forward in my life. It's incredible what truly amazing people I have been blessed to cross paths with this past year.
5.) I want to give the most significant most heartfelt thank you to every single person who has supported my journey into photography the last two years.
Whether it was booking a session; sharing with friends, or simply telling me that you like something I captured. I know that I wouldn't be where I am and wouldn't feel as encouraged to continue without all of the love and support I have received.
