Last week I crushed my routine. I got everything in, I slept well, I banged out a killer long run, I got it all done. This week my usual routine is not an option. I had a late night dentist appt, I’m slammed with work, and I’m leaving the country in the middle of the week.

 When your routine gets flipped upside down it can feel overwhelming and stressful. It’s definitely something that use to totally rock my world when I was younger and followed my routine religiously. I live a much more  roll with it mentality these days, and it helps me feel in control. My best advice when you don’t get to do everything you want in a week, or feel guilty for not getting that extra strength session in, is breathe, do what you can, and stay in control. Your mind is so powerful, working on mental strength and resilience through my recovery has allowed me to rationalize and work through hectic life events a lot easier. Make time for your essentials, don’t feel guilty about not being able to do  every single thing on your list - no one is keeping tabs but you (seriously). For me, my morning run is essential right now, I make time for that. Bummed I don’t get to swim this week, but stoked to fill the time with other great things. Life is like that, roll with it. ❤️

Экипироваться, найти подружку для бега или кумира и повесить на стену фото его ноги🦵🏼⠀

Но если внутреннего мотива нет - все кончится быстро ⠀

“Connection” mezi klientem a trenérem, talentovaný trenér by měl dbát na cíle atleta a klienta a snažit se najít cestu k jeho pochopení (To znamená využít své people skills a přestat uspokojovat sám sebe, ale potřeby klienta). Každý je individuální a to znamená každý si vyžaduje jiný přístup v ohledu reprezentačních systému je sice hezké, že trenér má nastavenou nějakou laťku hecování například, ale pokud klient a atlet mají predispozice například ke kinestetice a vstřebávání informaci přes hecování a skákání kolem bude 💩 platné naopak spíše ještě uškodí, působí to i v opačném případě pokud bude pasivní a naopak jen ukazovat. Kinestetické systémy mají zejména sportovci naopak běžně pracující lidé spíše vizuální nebo sluchové. Techniky této reprezentace jsou velice zajímavé a není příliš těžké rozpoznat člověka podle jeho systému. Těším se na zapracování této techniky k ještě většímu porozumění.

Odolnost na úzkosti, pochyby o sobě není “one time thing” Ken učil trenéry jak pracovat na konzistentní odolnosti v celém průběhu života. Jak nenechat pochybnosti o sobě a další negativní stavy myšlení, aby brzdily cestu. -

  • On days like today I feel like I’m doing exactly what I was put on the planet to do. 
In my element, doing what I love and helping others to build their confidence so they can love it just as much as I do. Seeing this beaming smile, one of those big grins that comes when all the hard work pays off. Sharing my favourite places, the most pristine beaches with crystal clear turquoise waters. Helping others reach their full potential. In my book that all makes for a damn good day at the office. 
It’s been an absolute pleasure coaching this lovely being from Vancouver, Canada over the last days here in Colonia Sant Jordi, Mallorca. I’ve lost count of the PBs we’ve smashed and the high fives that‘ve come thick and fast as a result. Living proof of the direct correlation between effort and results. 
We wrapped up our intensive three-day programme with a blissful 3km swim together along Es Trenc this morning after a sunrise technique session at the @best_swim_centre. 
What an awesome way to spend the last day of my 43rd year. And with the plans I’ve got lined up for my birthday to launch into my 44th year, tomorrow is all set to be even better💫💫💫 If you want to swim with me here in the beautiful Mediterranean (current sea temp: 22 degrees) and improve your technique at the Best Centre’s awesome 50m outdoor pool, I have one final 2019 slot available between 1-4 November. So if you don’t want to wait until next year, jump in!

  • I can’t believe the progress I made in such a short time. It’s been two years and I’ve learned so many lessons. Looking back on my journey I feel so grateful and humbled for the ability to have gone through everything I went through. The physical, mental, and spiritual growth is what I’m currently addicted to and will be for the rest of my life. Committing to living a healthier lifestyle was the best decision I have ever made. There’s more work to be done, more progress to be made, and most importantly more to learn. I’m ready for all of it and anything else life throws at me

Looking back on my journey I feel so grateful and humbled for the ability to have gone through everything I went through. The physical, mental, and spiritual growth is what I’m currently addicted to and will be for the rest of my life. Committing to living a healthier lifestyle was the best decision I have ever made. There’s more work to be done, more progress to be made, and most importantly more to learn. I’m ready for all of it and anything else life throws at me

  • I love basketball. I always will. I had the opportunity to play for the past 25 years and play in Europe and coach. But my desire and dream is to keep competing at an elite level. While I’ll continue to play basketball here and there, I will start training to compete in spartan races. Workouts everyday and lots of time building grip strength and endurance at the track is going to be what’s next! Beyond excited for this season🙌

  • What is our “Natural State”? 🔈🔈 The way we are born is our most natural state. We are born naked and ready to be programmed. I will often use age 0-5 to explain how perfectly ready we are for performance or to begin the dysfunction that will manifest later in life.

I believe that the more we can recapture our “Natural State” the better off we will be. As I have mentioned before the human body adapts to the things it does constantly. I posted a few weeks ago how our feet adapt to the shoes we wear, but it goes even further when you look at other effects like constantly sitting. Study upon study show how sitting in chairs is related to low back and hip pain.

  • What is our “Natural State”? 🔈🔈 The way we are born is our most natural state. We are born naked and ready to be programmed. I will often use age 0-5 to explain how perfectly ready we are for performance or to begin the dysfunction that will manifest later in life.

    I believe that the more we can recapture our “Natural State” the better off we will be. As I have mentioned before the human body adapts to the things it does constantly. I posted a few weeks ago how our feet adapt to the shoes we wear, but it goes even further when you look at other effects like constantly sitting. Study upon study show how sitting in chairs is related to low back and hip pain.

  • If your chasing a bigger bench lay off the shoulder pressing. Although they can assist your strength in the short term they can also lead you to wear out your shoulders early in your career. -
Remember as humans we already aren’t “designed” to lift maximal load through gravity with the schematics of a bench press so might as well progress on it as safe as we can for as long as we can.
