Baby moment curtesy of Belle 😂
When teaching a horse to jump it’s important to not micromanage them. It’s my job to make sure they have the right direction, balance and speed. And it’s there job to find a good distance and jump.
I keep the jumps small and forgiving when the horses is learning.
After this awkward attempt she came back and jumped it perfectly the second time.
So this video is from a couple of weeks ago. I’m still waiting for the footing to dry out enough. I’m hoping by this afternoon it will be ready! It’s hard having such beautiful weather and not being able to ride, it’s driving me crazy 😝. #ottb#retiredracehorseproject#thoroughbred#rrp2019#thoroughbreds#ottbsofinstagram
Which one is the sire and which one’s the dam? Can you tell? They’re almost the same right🤪 GREAT NEWS FROM YESTERDAY (since I couldn’t post last night because of the Instagram down): the vet came to give Tallulah her last vaccines PLUS he did an ultrasound and the baby/placenta is perfectly fine🎉 couldn’t be happier right now knowing that the pregnancy is normal so far. Fingers crossed for the weeks to come🤞🏻Follow our journey to see more of this🤗

Die gestrige Reitstunde war im großen und ganzen relativ gut 😅 Es gibt natürlich nach 3 wochen Pause sehr viele Baustellen aber ich denke, dass es durch regelmäßiges Training wieder besser wird.😁
Finally the footing dried out enough to ride last night. It wasn’t great but it was doable.
All of my horses are complete mud balls 🤦♀️
Unfortunately it’s not quite warm enough to give them baths yet.
Any else have a muddy horse?
Here is a fun throwback to summer time shenanigans 😁. #trakehner#trakehnersofinstagram#eventhorse#jumpinghorse#pet
Connie went for a ride this morning! 😁 As you can see, it wasn't me who was riding as I'm having an episode of nerves - but our instructor @rt_equestrian_services is riding the kinks and attitude out of Connie, which is very much appreciated! She's such a darling girl 🐎🖤

I figured it was time for another little video edit because why not, they’re fun and I like re-watching my rounds to reflect on what I have to work on. I’m home, and next week I head back down for my final weekend of showing at WEF. I honestly still can’t believe I had the opportunity to not only experience it, but compete with two honest to goodness beyond special horses in a new division. I’ve learned more than I ever thought possible - beyond reminding myself to stay over my horse, give a generous release, stay straight and balanced… (which I’m pretty sure I recite to myself in my sleep) I’ve learned to be gracious, stay humble and forever kind. I’m not sure if it’s my inherent millennial mentality, but something I’ve always struggled with (also outside of riding) is always wanting more from myself. I want to do better, be better - and I push myself hard to hit personal as well as professional goals. I’ve recognized that too often I beat myself up when I come up (what I see as) short. Taking a step back and reflecting on my break from riding on the most recent was an important reminder for me: I started riding again to fill the empty space in my heart, to reignite a long lost love and rediscover what it’s like to be blindly passionate about something. Any day I am able to even step foot in a barn is a blessing. The fact I belong to a barn in which my own horses call home is truly a miracle I never saw coming. Regardless of scores, accumulated points or results - my heart is now and always will be full. If you actually made it to the end of this sickly sappy self-reflection, congratulations! I’d give you a gold star if I could. ⭐️
Super proud of everyone at Leone on Saturday. Natalie placed 2nd in her mini stirrup Equation flat and Hunter U/S and 6th in the warm up hunters over fences. Maddie placed 5th in w/t. 3rd in mini stirrup Equation Flat. And 2nd in warm up hunters over fences . Great job team!
Same same, but different 😆
On cloud 9 today after throwing a saddle on Lilah for the first time in over a year! While she has bounced back from giving birth beautifully, I am seriously so blown away with how soft, supple and absolutely keen she was to step back into the arena. She looked and felt great, and it really showed! Li’s work ethic has always been one of my favourite traits of hers and she definitely proved that she’s ready for more. So stoked to be back on board! We just need to now slowly build up strength and fitness 💪
Mya was SO good. She absolutely loves doing zoomies in the arena and getting out. Riding with a foal is so frickin cute, I couldn’t ask for anything better 😍
PS. Spot the dachshund in the last slide, his favourite place 🤣
Good morning and happy Monday! Borneo was feeling a bit frisky this morning! I love how he is now carrying himself so much better, even on his own! He is getting stronger and now able to use muscles that were difficult to use previously ❤
How does your horse move on their own in the pasture? Are they a bit lazy or full of spice?
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was a bit jam packed but in such a good way! We are making progress on the farm so it's all very exciting😀
