  • Travel out to the Murray Sunset National Park to see the famous Pink Lakes for yourself. Located in the far northwest corner of Victoria, the lakes are a popular attraction for photographers, with their unusual colouring changing throughout the day, from a deep pink to a bright white.

The lake’s waters are actually crystal clear and the beds of the four lakes are made up of solid salt. However, it is the red algae (Dunaliella salina), which grows in the water that gives the lakes their pink hue.

  • Highlight:🌟Sydney, Australia🌟#TravelThursday

Sydney is the capital of New South Wales and is one of Australia’s largest cities! Located on the east coast🌊, this metropolis is also home to many ports, beaches, and sun! So, mate, where should we start?

First, head to the iconic Sydney Opera House🎭! This multi-venue performing arts centre at Sydney Harbour is one of the 20th century’s most famous and distinctive buildings. Come see a variety of shows including opera, theater, music and dance, or just sign up for a guided tour of the magnificent structure!

Next, head to Taronga Zoo to see some indigenous wildlife🐨🦘! This zoo has been open since 1916 and houses more than 4,000 animals. Want to get up close and personal? Sign up for an Animal Encounter before you go to feed a penguin, say hello to a koala, play with meerkats, and much more!

Lastly, we can’t travel to a coastal destination without hitting a beach🏝! Bindi Beach is one of Australia’s most popular beaches with reliable waves to draw in surfers. Hike the clifftop Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk, get a bite to eat in the nearby cafes, or simply relax by the water!

Hungry yet🍽? Australians are known to love grilling, but if you’re craving something sweet, try lamingtons! These have been named the “National cake of Australia🍰” and are a square-shaped sponge cakes dipped in chocolate and coated with desiccated coconut. My mouth is watering!

  • Another yak~ / I thought I was okay but after going to work I guess I realised I’m not entirely okay. But I’m lucky I did closing with a nice person today. Also I still get very amused at work whenever people are shocked at how quickly they receive their food ahah. Sometimes their food is ready before they even paid cos they’re counting their coins. Anyway, on a personal note, in the midst of getting my shit together again 💪🏼 (and I wanna watch Avengers!!!!)

  • Vacation time is here again, and a dip in cold water is a nice way to treat jetlag. Well, after some random sleeping times at least. See ya.

//
Lest we forget on this ANZAC Day 🇦🇺🇳🇿
Australia will always be one of my homes, and this trip was such a good reminder. The things we love about this home girt by sea was, is and will be protected by the brave Anzacs. Anzac Day is a great day to remember and honour all those that fought for Australia and New Zealand but we shouldn’t forget and we should remember on the other 364 days of the year as well.

  • Have you ever seen a Pink Lake? They actually do exist and they are natural. They are caused by the high level of Salt in the Water. With high temperatures and lots of sunlight Algae present in the Lake's Salt crust produces a red pigment called Beta Carotene which causes the pinkish appearance. The Lake returns back to normal in cooler months.
