  • Back from Greece and all I can think about is recreating those gorgeous Greek dishes. 
To be honest, the tomatoes in Germany don’t even come close to the ones we ate but fresh oregano from my garden, excellent olive oil we brought back from Monemvassia and a little honey from the mountains on the Peloponnes works wonders. 
Let me share the recipe for one of my favourite and simple Greek dishes with you, Dakos. .

For 1 Dakos which can be shared by two people you need:
- 1 big Cretan Dakos rusk
- 1 small red onion, diced
- 2 ripe tomatoes, cubed - about 160 g Feta, crumbled - 2 to 3 tablespoons of good olive oil - 1 teaspoon clear honey - 1 teaspoon Aceto Balsamico - sea salt and black pepper to taste - fresh or dried oregano - capers for topping 
Method:
Mix all the ingredients except for the Feta, the rusk and the capers in a bowl. 
Give the mix about 10 minutes to release the juices. Now spoon the salad on the rusk ( cut side up ) and top with the crumbled Feta, the capers and the oregano.   • Have you ever eaten your food so fast that you don’t even really remember eating it? Please tell me I’m not the only one 😅. That was the case with this toast. It was the best toast that I’ve made in a while! I roasted some whole grain bread with butter. Then I used @sabra caramelized onion hummus as the base 🤤. Topped one with avocado, and the other with boiled eggs. They both are sprinkled with chives, pink salt & pepper, plus a drizzle of olive oil. Before "gluten" was a buzz word, and "lactose-free" was printed on milk cartons, I was intolerant to all of it but I didn't understand it, and neither did my doctors.
