I have to be honest, I was a little hesitant to post this picture. I was worried that some folks might think I was in pain or get grossed out by my neck, etc. I’ve had people say “she’s the one with the really skinny neck”. Someone even referred to me in a book that way. That didn’t bother me though, but the photo...yes. What you can’t see are all the scars from a radical neck dissection that took away 69 lymph nodes to save my life from that evil Big “C”. And that F*&ker got my entire tongue too. 🖕 But, hey...I’m still here 6 years later! 🙏 I had to learn how to talk again without a tongue and accept all those scars. I learned a lot in the process and it was a small price to pay. I’ve realized that some people have a hard time with the new me. They check out of conversations early because a speech impediment makes them uncomfortable. Or maybe they get turned off by the scars? Who knows, who cares. I was laughing my butt off in this photo, having the best time with Rae (my puppo). Y’all life’s too f*&king short! It can change in an instant! Don’t let stuff...especially silly stuff...hold you back from doing things! Get out there, be you and don’t worry what other folks think! You are enough just the way you are! We are all walking wounded in one way or another. We all have things that make us self conscious around others. No one is any better than anyone else. You have the greatest gift in the world...life. Go enjoy it like there’s no tomorrow. I know I am...
Vivian Suter’s exhibition ‘Tintin’s Sofa’ is now open! For her first exhibition in London, the artist has filled the galleries with over 200 delicate but powerful paintings, hanging them in a way that mirrors the canopy of the rainforest: suspended, draped, overlapping and organic 🌴🍃🐕

This red phone was intended to be a part of the red aesthetic/Valentine’s line-up but it took a little longer to come together. By itself it gives me emergency phone vibes. Like, ya know, in the movies when it’s the last resort in a control center/office labeled “emergency only” ☎️☎️☎️

This work was created with songs of David Bowie played in the background, which music I have known and loved since childhood. Always a pleasure and source of inspiration to me.
