#women4oncology#cancer#fightcancer#discussion#prevention#skg

Let me tell you a story about 2 years old girl Mila Rončević that united Croatia.
Mila was diagnosed with Acute megakaryoblastic leukemia (AML-M7). Her last chance of survival was treatment at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The cost of treatment is $ 2.8 mil USD. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Population of Croatia is 4.284.889 and in only FEW WEEKS total amount of fund raising was 5.832.683,74 USD!!! No government, no political parties, just “ordinary” people with big hearts.
Croatia may be small country but we have BIG HEART! I’ve never been more proud to be Croatian! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because of good people and donations, Mila is doing well at her treatment in Philadelphia. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are many kids, I would say HEROES, like Mila that are fighting their illnes and they DESERVE chance for quality treatment, they DESERVE chance TO LIVE! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Together with Mila’s family and a team of the best doctors in Croatia we came to idea to establish “Mila za sve” foundation which is an organisation that funds treatments of seriously ill children as well as aims to promote and help board-based genomyc analysis, preventative genomics, personalized medicine, innovative and experimental treatments. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Together we can enable treatement for every kid! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❤️ ZAKLADA “MILA ZA SVE” ❤️ @milazasve ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

💜💙 Thank you, Lauren, @ThatRunnerMom, for writing a heartfelt blog on our event: Brooklyn, NY's 1st Annual Esophageal Cancer Awareness Run/Walk! Lauren not only volunteered at the event as @KrampKrushers team leader, she also ran the entire 5k race 8 months pregnant! Way-to-go, Lauren!

When I first heard about Juice Plus from the lovely @janie_schneider I thought…really…this seems too good to be true. I didn't want to be a sucker so I decided to look up what Dr. Google had to say. I found a few articles saying you can just take a vitamin, it’s cheaper.
It took my mom, @pedersenpatrice , getting cancer and deciding to take her nutrition and health more seriously for me to start really looking into the difference between taking a synthetic vitamin and consuming whole food nutrition. Now I am digging deeper and find real research about how synthetic vitamins can’t hold a candle to the tens of thousands of phytonutrients in fruits and vegetables. There is no proof that vitamins get into your bloodstream, and there is proof that the nutrients in Juice Plus get into your blood stream.
Not only that, as I am trying to eat more healthy organic food to avoid pesticides, hormones, and processed sugars that deplete my and my family’s immune systems…it’s expensive. I originally thought that Juice Plus was expensive. Now I’m learning that it’s filled with organically grown fruits and veggies from farms in the US. So for roughly $2.50/day I can have 33 organic fruits and veggies picked at their ripest with peak nutritional content, in my body building my immune system and making it hostile to cancer. What I get for $2.50/day is incredibly high quality natural medicine for my body to help prevent high medication costs and doctor bills in the future. It started to make a lot of sense financially.
If you want to know more or want to see the hard science to back up what I’m saying, send me a message. I want to share! Good nutrition heals your body. #plantsheal#wholefoodnutrition#nutrition#juiceplus#realnutrition#plantpower#fruitsandveggies#fightcancer
This is through the eyes of Crystal, for her son Ian. "Pediatric cancer changes everything. I became the rock of our family trying desperately to hold everything together and give my son the most 'normal' childhood that is possible while he endures more than what most will in their entire lifetime. People tell me all the time how strong I am, I am only strong because my superhero needs me to be. I live in almost constant fear, fear that I need to keep inside. My son will not know fear. He will only know love. Watching him battle cancer with a smile on his face and a resilience that I didn't know existed, gives me the strength to hold it all together for him." #ThroughMyEyes

When things get really hard, I want you to remember this: Warriors do not become warrior simply by chance. Warriors become warriors because they've been to war, over and over again…and never gave up. Keep going. Keep fighting. You're becoming a warrior. 💖🔥👏🏼
One of Jason’s favorite activities was to help put clothes in the washer and dryer at 14 months. At 14 months old a child can understand more words than they can say and love to play peek-a-boo, but none of them should have to know what an emesis bag is, how to weigh themselves on a standing scale, or how to properly wear a N95 mask. Read Jason's full story by swiping up on his story post or clicking the link in our bio and finding his picture. #childhoodcancer#childhoodcancerawareness#morethan4#gogold#hope#fightcancer#CUREChildhoodCancer

Most days I think I have it together. Most days I fight off the worst fears. Most days I’m half-way good at going on “like nothing.” 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒂 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒐 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 And those days I have little left in me to care about much anything else. And those days I fight off tears that threaten to come in like an unexpected wave and knock me down. I fight off irritability. I fight off anger. I fight off my “adult temper tantrums” as I call them. I fight off feeling alone. .
This is the roller coaster that is the cancer journey.🤷🏼♀️

Nothing is ever easy breezy with Kylie. At the beginning of maintenance, her liver wasn’t processing the chemo like it should have. It was sending the bad enzymes back into her bone marrow. We got over that hump and were ready to start her back on chemo when she serious contracted an infection due to her weakened immune system. Read about Kylie's fight with cancer and its side effects by swiping up on her story post or clicking the link in our bio and finding her picture. #childhoodcancer#childhoodcancerawareness#morethan4#gogold#hope#fightcancer#CUREchildhoodcancer

Just a smiling "popo" getting ready for his chemo treatment. Strength comes in many forms, and lately I have been given no other choice than to be strong for others. My grandfather has always been a sharp dresser, and even in sickness, he takes pride in his appearance and is one of the few at therapy dressed up. But that's something he can control, it's what he is good at, and what he knows. Everyone deals with the same circumstances differently. One saying I read years ago, and thought was kind of silly, but has stuck with me is this: " we are all dealing with the same hell - just different devils, we are all playing the same game - just different levels" and it's fitting for this. Thanking God for another day to be alive. Make the most of it. You won't get today back.
