Guys, I’ve been a bad Instagram artist this week! Quieter than normal, and not sharing as much studio time as I should have. My apologies 😬 Just too busy painting!
I’ve been tackling commissions, wrapped up three new works for a local luxury design shop in Annapolis, Md and continuing to grow and support @thestudiosource! Not to mention the early beginnings of my next collection!... all good things!
But trust— this mama is ready for the weekend! 🙌🏻

Guys, me too!
🙈I too sometimes struggle with comparison,
🙈I too sometimes find myself looking at other people’s “success” highlights thinking that my successes are not as good,
🙈I too sometimes look at what others create and think why it wasn’t me who made that,
🙈I too sometimes think that I suck.
However, after having those thoughts I distance myself from them and look at the facts. 🤔And I understand that those thoughts are mostly the cognitive distortions that I’m having. Look them up, if you’re curious.
Those thoughts are simply not true and I choose to change them. This helps me to go on and do my thing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The key here is that it’s your responsibility to change your thoughts and behaviors. No one can do it for you. No, it’s not easy! But you can do it, everyone can. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is how I keep on going. This helps me stay motivated. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What’s your ways of dealing with negative self-talk when you get it? Let’s learn from each other!
Been so grateful for every project for the last many years. Every time one comes through, it is such a mix of surprise and awe and excitement (and obviously a little anxiety 🙈). ⠀
⠀ @mountsinainyc I hope these babies make your long and hard days in the hospital just a little bit more beautiful. 📷@chrislearyphoto

LINES ON LOVING AN ORANGE
My next love
An orange! "Absurd," you say?
Do you think
Oranges are fickle?
I'll bather her
In cool water,
Fondle her round belly.
Savor her sweet pulp
On my tongue,
Covet her intricate colors
In the sun.
I'll prepare a bed
