Bulking has been a bit hard for me, watching the numbers on the scale increase instead of decrease... but it’s an important part of the process and I keep reminding myself that it’s muscle, so it’s good weight gain 💪🏼

  • Can I tell you something that I haven’t shared before? Like a dark secret?

Back in college, when I started putting on those freshman pounds...I freaked out. I had never struggled with weight gain. I didn’t know what to do. So I did what sounded most logical...I severely cut my calories and severely increased my cardio. 
It got to a point where I feared weight gain so much, that I would only eat salads or  toddler meals (yes, legit toddler meals). And I would do no less than 45 min a day on the elliptical. In order to get on the scale, I’d go lay out in the sun and sweat a bunch, to shed some pounds before I stepped on that dreaded machine. This continued for a while until I felt so hungry, I’d binge. And I’d binge...bad.

Rinse and repeat. Over and over. 
And you know what? I fell of this wagon eventually, and put on even more weight.

Why do we do these things to ourselves? Just for a number on a scale?! Why is every program out there telling us to cut calories? Or an entire food group? It doesn’t work. Not in the long run.
.
I’m so thankful I hired a coach and ended those awful cycles. Feeling starved and restricted isn’t a way to live. And you can see results without it, trust me! I’m so thankful for this place of diet freedom that I’m now in. And I want to teach you how to get here too!

  • Keto is going great!! Week 5 down 25 no more sugar cravings and I have energy to workout.... once you get past week two it becomes habit let’s just see if I can keep it off and do this for the long-haul. Once I hit my goal I’ll start introducing selective carbs. Tonight we had grilled steak and lump crab salad with avocado boiled egg..#TeamClark #GettingItDone #FitFamily #WorkingOnArtEating #Keto #ItWorks

  • I’m all about routines. I like to have my day planned and follow healthy habits that I have locked in over time by creating triggers to remind me and then they get locked in as a habit and I automatically do them without thinking about it. 🙌
One of the first things I do when I get up each morning is put put my diffusers on around the home and have essential oils that support me to feel my best 🌱

Abnahme und Beziehung. Wenn der Partner sagt "Es reicht". Vorneweg: Mr. Houseman hat das nicht gesagt. Er verfolgt eine strikte "Dein Körper-Dein Bier"- Haltung, was das angeht. Solange es nicht ins Untergewicht geht.

Aber wir hatten neulich ein Gespräch, von mir eingeleitet, was in die Richtung ging. Fällt auch ein bisschen unter "Frag nicht, wenn du die Antwort nicht vertragen kannst". Wir sprachen irgendwie über Körperformen. Kurven. Brüste, Hintern, Hüften. Ich weiß schon, dass Mr. Houseman Kurven mag. Immerhin habe ich ihm ja auch mit 120kg gut gefallen. Jetzt habe ich nicht mehr viele Kurven. Kaum Brüste. Und der Hintern? Naja. Jedenfalls fragte ich ihn, ob ich noch kurvig genug wäre für sein Beuteschema.

Und er meinte dann: "Geht".
Das war dann insgesamt weniger euphorisch wie ich es mir vielleicht gewünscht hätte. Aber ehrlich. Ich will da auch nicht belogen werden. 
Und er hat mir dann gezeigt, dass er mich durchaus noch gut findet  #wisstihrbescheid

Er hat nie "Stopp" gesagt während der Abnahme. Und hätte ich nicht explizit nachgefragt, hätte er meine Figur auch nie so kommentiert.

Aber was, wenn der Partner Stopp sagt? Weil die Figur nicht mehr gefällt? Weil das gesunde Essen, der Sport, der Life-Style zu sehr nervt?

Würdet ihr dann euer Ding durchziehen? Notfalls Trennung? Hauptsache Wunschgewicht? Welche Rolle spielt die Meinung eures Partners in der Thematik?

Ich will ehrlich sein. Dieses Gespräch war ein weiterer Grund, warum ich mich frage, ob die letzten 2 Kilo unbedingt noch sein müssen. Wieder zunehmen würde ich nicht, nur um wieder kurviger "für ihn" zu sein.
Salopp gesagt: solange der Mann beim Anblick meiner Restkurven noch einen hoch kriegt, ist ja alles gut in dem Bereich.

Und letztlich hat er recht. #gutermann Mein Körper, mein Bier. 
Und jetzt bin ich ganz gespannt auf eure Meinungen und Erfahrungen zu dem Thema!

  • Well, well April has been a month of injury and setbacks. Started with a finger sprain, then I got my left foot checked for an injury that happened when I was 3 years old and I had been self medicating for years and now pain medication had stopped working, and I was in constant pain 24/7; Dr found several lesions on my left foot, A condition called "Tenosynovial Giant cell tumor" that was pushing on my tendons, and me adding extra pressure on top of it wasn't helping, no wonder I was in so much pain and was limping every day after CrossFit , as I was walking to work or any activity that involved my left foot. So I have been told to completely stop any physical activity and not bear any weight on left foot at all.They have advised me to wear Cam walker and walk minimally that is if I have to .This meant no crossfit, no heavy lifting, no high intensity workouts, not even walking long distance, running was not even an option; everything I loved for past 6 years, I was told to not do it anymore.  As anyone in denial would do, I cried and sulked for days last week, but then made up my mind and was determined to find a way around it. I put together a plan of workouts, I could do without bearing any weight on my left foot. That meant I barely lift any weights,  nor bear any weight on my left foot, but so be it. I have come to terms with that. Waiting for my cam walker , so that I can isolate my left feet completely, for now I am lifting my forefoot off the ground when doing any workout, or not using left foot at all. Until I find permanent solution for this  and be completely painfree , I will do what I can do , keep my chin up and stop sulking.
People are dealing with far worse and I still have this gift called life so, well thankful and happy to have been able to break into some sweat 😊
