📍Power and force production come in many different and mixed flavors. Vertical power output is often the most popular to incorporate within training programs. However, research has shown time and time again that vertical power is one of the most critical components to training and sports performance. VP can be used for a wide variety of sports but can be utilised with other multi-direction movement patterns throughout the annual training cycles.
📍Here are some unique ways to increase vertical power production:
1️⃣Banded Jumps: The bands provide a little reduced body weight but also incorporate the vertical and landing components. Excellent way to allow nervous system activation and jump mechanics.
2️⃣Step-up Jumps: Maintain vertical velocity and single-leg landing.
3️⃣Banded Resisted and Accelerated Jumps: Tie the mini bands around a rack or band pegs, and jump. Many variations to use here but works well in having to overcome resistance. Don’t need much band tension
4️⃣Box Squat with Chains for Gains: If you are not using bands or chains, you ain’t working on your game. I’ve been a huge fan and believer of accommodating resistance for years. Might want to add them in.

I felt my worst when I was my leanest😳.
I had hormonal imbalances, low energy, obsessed with my food, obsessed with the scale, and was so afraid to enjoy life.
What if I ate something off-plan, went over in my calories, or gained a pound? OMG, I felt like the world would come to an end.
It's funny how other people assume you feel great and are so healthy because you're thin, muscular, and lean.
Let me tell you something, lean doesn't always equal healthy or happy! How you get lean is the most important thing to focus on and you can go about it in a healthy and sustainable way or an unhealthy and reckless way!

It took me years to get here, this is my happy place. I'm not my leanest, but I'm happy, healthy, have a business I love and have two beautiful little girls.

1 cup of all purpose flour (can also use pastry flour or something similar), I have not tried these with a gluten free flour except a 1-1 flour substitute ⠀
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda⠀
1 teaspoon of baking powder⠀
pinch of salt⠀
1/2 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice⠀
¼ cup of maple syrup⠀
½ cup of almond milk⠀
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract⠀
½ cup of pumpkin puree⠀
1 cup powdered sugar⠀
2 tablespoons milk of choice⠀
½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon⠀
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 6 cavity donut pan.⠀
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and pumpkin pie spice.⠀
Stir in the milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and pumpkin puree. Stir until well combined.⠀
Evenly divide the batter into the donut pan. You can spoon it in and shake the pan a bit to level it out OR you can pour the batter into a baggie, cut one corner, and then pipe the batter into the donut pan.⠀
Bake for 9-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the donuts comes out clean. Mine took right at 10 minutes.⠀
While the donuts cool, make the icing by whisking together the powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons of milk, and 1/2 teaspoon of the pumpkin pie spice. Add additional milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired icing thickness.⠀
Once donuts have cooled a bit, dip them into the icing ⠀

Stepped on the scales today... Body fat % has increased but I was fully aware of it, not been tracking or doing the cardio I was previously. But, all in all relatively happy and realise these things aren't 100% accurate 😘
