I always saw myself as a personal trainer and bodybuilder. For years, I wanted to be a personal trainer—I achieved that goal, trained for almost 4 years, and then realized the inconsistency of scheduling/pay just wasn’t for me. I wanted to go pro in figure—I achieved that through IPE, then realized bodybuilding just wasn’t for me. I felt so lost after that—I was so convinced that I was “Chloe: the personal trainer and bodybuilder” that I had absolutely no idea where to go next; it was almost like a grieving period, as weird as that sounds, once I officially decided to let both personal training and bodybuilding go.
It took time, but I’m finally happy with accepting a new version of myself; it’s exciting as hell to go into new territory and discover new passions. The more I was bodybuilding, the more I realized how much I loved lifting heavy as hell. The longer I personal trained, the more I learned how to work with all kinds of people and personalities.
I’ve learned to stop putting labels on myself—I’m not just a job title and a hobby. I’m a mother, girlfriend, daughter, friend, sister, optometric technician, powerlifter, coworker, and plenty of other titles.. and I love em all.
But you can get your ass I love calling myself a badass powerlifter while I’m doin’ it. 😚

You can’t lose if you view losing as a part of winning.
Every failure and mistake is a learning opportunity.
When you fall down, ask yourself why you fell and fix it.
You can only lose if you give up or don’t try again.
Learn from it and keep going.

Brought home my barbell, so my baby girl came to give it a sniff 🐶 Doesn’t matter if the gym is closed, I’ll find a way to hit legs anyway, these sticks need to grow 👆🏻

What is your intention? Is it functional or aesthetic?
At first glance my friend (@hey_there_mama_g ) and I appear to being doing the same pose, but if you look closely you'll notice some subtle differences.
Rachel's stance is slightly wider than mine and you can see more lateral flexion (rounding) in my spine than hers. In an "Instagram Analysis," I'd say her posture looks aesthetically better than mine.
Now keep in mind, I've been teaching yoga for the last 4 years and consistently work into this pose on a regular basis; Rachel on the other hand runs ultra-marathons and does yoga only when I con her into doing it with me.
I point all of this out because I think the physical practice of yoga can be somewhat misleading and at times discouraging if we aren't careful to couple it with the proper mindset. Indeed, it's easy to look at another student or teacher in a yoga posture and become frustrated that you can't get there. But it is in these exact moments that the yoga practice truly begins and we are challenged to ask ourselves what our true intentions are. If we are focused on function, health, and wholeness, then we must remember that we are all vastly different human beings with different bodies. And the value and benefits of yoga do not come from contorting our bodies to match the likeness of someone else in an obscure posture, but rather in cultivating awareness of the body, an attitude of exploration, and a willingness to trust the process.
For me it’s decision by decision. What’s my next best yes?
We totally won the morning! Grateful I could share one of my fave’s, Camp Gladiator, with my Arbonne sister Brooke!
So glad I said YES to my morning workout.
YES to Brooke and her family to parking their RV in our driveway while they visit Austin.
The results are in! After 8 weeks of this Barre workout, I am down 4.5 lbs and a total of 5.75 inches.
This program has definitely become one of my favorites. I hardly ever repeat a workout program because there's always new ones coming out. But I love this one so much and love the results, so I'm planning on doing a second round. So are several of the girls in our fitness accountability group. Wanna join us? You know where to find me!

February was pretty much a shit month. Every week there was something stressful happening. From having to put our 12 year old dog down, to the stomach flu hitting us, to a pipe bursting and flooding a room or two and then Wyatt breaking his adult front tooth in half 😳 It was enough to send any sane person into an anxiety laced pitfall. Trust me, I wanted to fall apart so many times. I cried a lot, and I screamed a little. I leaned on friends and my husband and I prayed to God a lot. But I am SO SO SO thankful I had fitness in my life. I am thankful I had somewhere to release the stress, anxiety, anger and worry. Every time I worked out, I felt the stress melt away. Every time I lifted up the weights, the worry and anxiety lifted away. I cannot imagine how I would have gotten through this last month without my workouts, without the sweat, and pain, and curse words. Working out isn’t just for physical health, it’s for your mental health too!
So if you are struggling mentally, if you feel stress or anxiety or lonely, come see me. I know that working out can help you. And I am here for you. .

Oh wait, I'm a mom and Friday really could be any other day of the week. Moms, am I right or what? 🤪 BUT, I'm still feelin great because I'm on my post workout high and in my new workout outfit that I'll probably change out of later on tonight ( #momlife ). I've got a bottle of my favorite @scoutandcellar 🍷 to open later on with my husband AND a new #netflix series we started watching called The Stranger - so good!
Happy Friday friends! 😘
Came down with a nasty little bug, so no gym today. I know I post a lot of selfies, but I took this one the other day and was beyond happy with how I've progressed. @thestrengthgai has been incredibly patient with me, and has done an amazing job with handling me and my programming. Here's to continual progression and bigger, stronger, and healthier futures.
