  • These photos are only a month apart. Crazy how much change can happen if you stay consistent. I always try to go back and look at older photos to remind myself of how far I’ve come cause I’m my worst critic!   • This is not the easiest thing to share. And that’s because to say it out loud makes it more real than I want to admit. It’s also not easy because my singing voice is my talent. To me, it’s what makes me stand out. But as I’ve said before in my posts, I want my Instagram to be as honest as possible. Hence, this post.

My singing voice is tired. My singing voice is not doing some of the things it normally does. Thankfully my voice does not hurt. But it is becoming clear to me now that all is not as it once was. I honestly believe that a lot of what’s happening to my voice has to do with recent stress and a topsy-turvy sleep schedule. I am doing my best to remain hopeful that it is not anything serious. 
I am going to be seeking medical advice to double check. But it’s fair to say that I need some time to calm my voice and let it recover. So, for now at least, I will not be uploading any new music videos for a little while. There will be longer stretches between my posts, but I will always be here and I will post as often as I have something to say 😜

  • Those smiles make me happy! 😊 It’s the first day of Spring, International Day of Happiness, and I have so much to be happy about... it’s week #8 post-op and I’ve graduated to group classes again! 🎉 There were some lonely moments during medical leave, so being back with friends is the best! I may still be making a lot of modifications and moving a bit slower 🐢, but I’m moving and that feels amazing. The energy in class is infectious and I appreciate all the “welcome back!” high fives. 🖐🏻 Thank you to everyone who encouraged me and supported this step of the comeback! ❤️

  • The hardest hike I’ve ever done was 24 miles down, across and up the Grand Canyon. The next hardest hike I’ve done happened today. It was basically an up, up, up and then down, down, down adventure.   • COMPLETE PROTEINS!! 💪
I greatly appreciate you guys so much for answering the question on my story! 
For those who don’t know much about the complete proteins, in order to be considered complete, a protein must contain all nine of the essential amino acids to build and repair tissues in the body. 
Animal proteins are complete meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy.
Plant based complete proteins include quinoa, buckwheat, hemp seed, and soy beans.
To get more of a variety of complete proteins try combining incomplete proteins such as: * Nuts or seeds w/ whole grains (peanut butter & toast)
* Whole grains & Legumes (rice & beans) .
By doing this you are making it easier to have different options of complete vegan proteins with of all the essential amino acids necessary for the body.
❗️IMPORTANT❗️For guys make sure to avoid soy products. Some of the soy products on the market contain molecules similar to estrogen. Estrogen will make it harder for men to get lean. (We will talk about estrogen negatively impacting men in another post! Stay tuned!)

Life is hard enough. So when I’m out there with my friends and doing what makes me happy you bet I’m going to have fun and enjoy it. The running community is amazing and it was felt on Sunday. Thank you for the smiles, the clapping, the thumbs up, the yelling for me and especially for my team. We race to accomplish our fitness goals but more importantly because it makes us happy and allows to do it with like minded people. Stay positive and stay strong. Don’t let the downs of life keep you down. Lace up and change your view to a positive thing. Nunca Negativo, Siempre positivo 🇩🇴 Never Negative, Always Positive 🙌🏽💯❤️
One thing I learned in life is to be kind to others because you never know what kind of day they are having and you can be the change to make their day a little easier.   • Remember a few days ago when I said I was thankful for the girls in my accountability group... ??? I had a love/hate relationship with them today. 🤣 kidding. 
My WiFi wasn’t working this morning and I wasn’t able to get my workout in. I had MULTIPLE girls in our group message me this afternoon- a few who typically do those tough afternoon workouts, asking me if I had done it yet. Of course I could have skipped, I would have been FINE. But the fact that they were holding ME accountable, checking in, made me not want to let THEM down. That’s what we do, show up for each other even when it’s HARD. 
So I pushed play at 6, stopped a few times to replenish the kids plates and also clean up a spill 🤦🏻‍♀️, but I finished. It wasn’t pretty and I moved slower than usual, but it’s done. 
Now, fingers crossed I can hit play tomorrow morning 🤞🏼 because those after school workouts just aren’t my thing.
