“I’ve been hearing a ton of coaches say lately how if you’re so many pounds over predicted stage weight you shouldn’t be prepping or that you shouldn’t gain so much post show because it shows that you have issues with food.”

Excuse me, what??? The fact that anyone in a coaching position thinks that they should use blanket statements like these is absolutely insane to me. There are so many factors that influence weight gain post show and often times they’re not related to “issues with food.” But hey no better way to create an issue with food than to put it that way!

Dieting history, chronic competing, being too far from their natural settling, hormonal disruptions, life stressors, career changes, relationship strains are just a few reasons why someone might not have a textbook offseason.

Are there instances where people have gained more weight than they expected and should potentially put off competing for any of the reasons above? Absolutely.
.
But the idea that someone should only compete if they’re within this arbitrary ultra lean/close to stage weight physique is flat out wrong and ironically causing a lot of the subsequent weight gain issues.
.
You can’t outrun physiology. Diet too hard for too long and even if you have the best metabolism in the world, you’re going to run into problems. 🙅🏻‍♀️

  • Hast du Spaß am Training? In den letzten Wochen musste ich die Frage tatsächlich mit einem „Jain“ beantworten. Manchmal hatte ich Lust, manchmal musste ich mich extrem dazu zwingen. Letzteres leider sogar öfter😔 Das ist auch mal okay aber nicht dauerhaft!

Sport ist meine Freizeit, mein Ausgleich. Dann möchte ich auch Spaß daran haben! ☺️

Genau aus dem Grund habe ich meinen kompletten Trainingsplan umgekrempelt. Nach 1,5 Jahren mit dem Gleichen auch höchste Zeit☺️
.
Ich habe Übungen ausgetauscht, Reihenfolgen getauscht & auch mehr Kraftausdauer reingepackt💪🏼 Lediglich das Grundkonstrukt: 2er Split (OK&UK) habe ich beibehalten☺️
.
Der Plan besteht jetzt aus allem was mir SPASS macht - because: it‘s about my body, it‘s about fun, it’s about ME!🌟
.
BTW morgen probiere ich noch eine neue Sportart aus, mal schauen ob das was für mich ist😅 Erzähle euch morgen mehr 😉

  • 8️⃣ Tutorial Series - Landing - Contract HARD!⠀

When you land, you're trying to do two things. First, absorb all of the downward force into the muscles, without anything going into the joints or causing too much strain on the tendons.⠀
⠀
Secondly, you're trying to maintain control and balance on the landing. That means that you need to keep the contraction of your muscles to stop any loose flexing of any joints, which in turn moves the centre of gravity and makes you more unstable.⠀
⠀
By contracting as hard as you can and NOT BOUNCING BACK UP FROM THE LANDING (which is a redirection of the downward force not being fully absorbed, but rather redirected back up again) you will minimise any movement of the spine and hips which control the balance.

  • Happy Monday! One of the things I’ve been trying to improve this past month is my veggie intake! Normally I just eat veggies with my dinner, but lately I’ve been feeling that my lunch is just not as nutrient dense as I would like! My lunches in the past typically consisted of chicken, an apple and a snack like pretzels or even avocado toast but lately I’ve been itching for change and it’s actually working really well for me! Today’s lunch was steamed green beans, quinoa and 3oz of turkey and I’m actually full and satisfied after this lunch and not itching for another snack. And to be honest I’ve just been craving more veggies! So simple, easy and delicious and of course nutritious!!! :)
