  • Mirrors are finally up in the new gym!! Pretty much 100% done moving now, yay! 🎉 The last couple months have been ROUGH with this gym moving to a different location and making lots of big updates. I hate going to overcrowded places like Vasa, so I wanted to keep going to this one even through all the renovations. So glad it’s officially finished! 😍

  • LOAD EXERCISES WISELY
.
This is my guy, Martin. Martin travels quite a bit, and squeezing a tall guy into small airplane seating doesn’t help his body to say the least. .
Having been on a plane already this week, and a day trip to Boston for lunch tomorrow, I wanted to load his legs, without putting too much stress on his back, particularly upper back and traps. .
Back squat was definitely out and even my personal favorite , goblet position, probably wasn’t the best idea. .
Enter Landmine reverse lunges. The load on the side limits the strain on the back while making the obliques work overtime to keep him from falling over. .
If you are a crazy busy executive or business professional who travels more than 50% each month, your training plan needs to be structured with that in mind. .
DM me the word “travel” if you spend time crunches into planes, trains or automobiles and let’s design a plan specifically addressing your needs! .

  • One thing I do NOT do is: go quietly.
.
Another is: I do not go easily.
.
I gave a PR on front squats all I got today, with the end goal being bodyweight.
.
5 pounds off.
.
7 tries.
.
This was the top of my last successful squat.
.
125.
.
Sometimes we miss the mark on the ultimate goal, but that's why we make the smaller ones.
.
Because I still won today.
.
I got my new 1RM.

  • 2 of my clients here doing plank knee raises with the trx bands. I love this exercise so much because it forces you to work on core stability to refrain from being out of control with the moment and moving in the lateral direction. You can also modify this if you can’t hold the plank and progress this to make it alittle more difficult by maybe adding a bosu ball to place your hands on, to create even more focus towards core stability! ⁣
⁣
Do you incorporate the trx bands into your routine? ⁣
@trxtraining You can literally do a full body workout using these bands and can be super affective!! If you don’t have this at home, at your gym, I highly recommend getting some like today!! #Victorious #VictoryLanefitness #Trx #trxworkout #corestrength

  • Staying fit as a doctor or med student is hard. Here's how I stay on top of my personal health! 💪
-
☀️Find your favorite form of staying fitness. Can be lifting, running, long walks, yoga, biking, boxing, or a sport! (I love basketball 🏀)
-
☀️ Schedule your fitness the same way you schedule your appointments, meetings, and tests. Think of working out as having a meeting with a better version of yourself! 😀
-
☀️Short is still okay! Sometimes my favorite workouts are 10-15 total body interval circuits. They tend to include common exercises (jumping jacks, body squats, etc.) for 20 seconds at a time with a short 10 second break. This always kicks my butt, yet I get a great workout in little time!
-
☀️Put on some motivational videos while working out! I loved listening to music but now I'm getting into motivational YouTube videos which keep me pushing and pumped!
-
☀️Pick an easy time to do your fitness every day. This is often before the busy day starts but can also be a break in the middle of the day before you get back to work!
-
☀️Remember who this is for. Every time I skip on working out, I imagine my future self yelling at me for making that future version less fit. This is for you so get to it!
