The gym can be an intimidating place to walk into as a first timer, beginner, or even as someone with experience.
Personally, I LOVE my ‘me time’ at the gym. As soon as my headphones go in all the craziness of the day, the people around me, EVERYTHING is blocked out..seriously, ask people who train at @kauaiathletic who try to say hello or get my attention😂 I’m completely in my own world🤦🏼♀️
BUT..I also really enjoy training with others! There is so much to learn from other trainers and experienced ‘gym-goers’. Plus you get to share conversation and laughs!
One of the amazing things about fitness is that there’s something for everybody! From going to a Body Pump or Zumba class with some friends, to training one on one with a personal trainer, there’s a fit for each individual!
With the new year right around the corner, there’s no better time to get outside of your comfort zone. Our comfort zone is a beautiful place, but GROWTH is not found in comfort. The courage to begin is the first step!
Was fortunate to teach a health class on base yesterday and it honestly brought me so much joy and fulfillment🙌🏼 It reminded me how much I love helping and sharing experiences with others❤️.. It did make me wonder though, what does Health mean to you?
Had a machine leg workout today. Because my lower back pain only sort of went away today I didn’t want to shock my body right away. Went pretty well, hope this was a one thingy thing because didn’t liked it what so ever🙃

I haven’t been posting on the socials much. Have been busy with my new job but just to make things a little more complicated I thought “why not do another Max 12 week challenge!!!” Done and dusted for my 2nd ever challenge. This challenge wasn’t that smooth as I injured my back badly in the middle of week 5. I had to modify my training program significantly but I never gave up! All things considered I am very happy with my results.
This is the healthiest I have ever been. With each challenge I learn more about health and fitness.
Thanks again to Sarah Bellairs for supporting and putting up with me over the past 12 weeks.

I hate it and It’s definitely not mandatory in order to burn fat
Cardio is just a tool in order to help burn more calories but the truth is it’s easier to just not eat as much.
You can’t out train a bad diet but you can out diet your training
Like I said I only do cardio here and there but if you are going to do cardio then do either...
HIIT which is like sprinting for a certain amount of time and then resting or do slow cardio which is like filling up a backpack with weights and going for a long walk
Either of those are good and can be used to help when cutting even though it’s not necessary

To say that life has been challenging these past days is an understatement, with sickness going around my house and the busyness of the holidays. I’ve been completely exhausted but I couldn’t be more proud for giving myself Grace on the days I have zero energy to do anything, because it is always very hard for me to skip a workout without feeling guilty but I know better days are coming and for now I’m okay with working out 3-4 days a week.🙌

This girl is ON THE MOVE! 🙌🏼 5 weeks ago I started with walking a half mile and today I walk-jogged 2 miles! 🏃🏽♀️ My goal is to jog our annual 5k on December 21st! #goals#postpartumfitness Did I have to get off the treadmill three time to go sooth my baby back to sleep?? 🤦🏻♀️ YUP! Don’t you worry though we still got it done! 😂 It’s so important to rebuild your fitness slowly over time. I didn’t wake up and just decide to go run 2 miles at 5w4d postpartum. 🙅🏻♀️ I’ve been working up to this small accomplishment a little bit every day with consistent walks all month. The biggest thing I am learning is to be patient and take baby steps. There’s no rush to be running my old paces and distances. All in good time. #grace#patience#tiumom
