  • I can’t help but feel so incredibly blessed to be loved by this man. ☺️ Since we found out we are have a baby, Austin has loved me deeper and shown me that daily. Even as my body changes (& grows😅) he tells me I’m beautiful and how much he loves my body at every phase. I can’t emphasize how huge this has been for me as I struggle almost daily with adjusting to the new body I’m in. 🙏🏼 Thank you for being my best friend. My lover. My baby daddy. 🥰 I love you so incredibly much & I cannot wait to watch you love our little girl 💗

  • I am NOT OKAY with the number on the scale. ⁣
⁣
Better yet...⁣
⁣
I’m not okay with how much emphasis gets put on it. ⁣
⁣
You get weighed at every prenatal checkup. So aside from all the lovely comments you get from strangers about your growing, changing body (WHOLE ‘nother conversation), you get to go into the doctor’s office every few weeks, already nervous to check in on your growing baby, and step on the dreaded scale. ⁣
⁣
Aaaaaand cue more comments. ⁣
⁣
Wow! Five more pounds! Gonna be a big baby!
Let’s talk about your weight gain...
We need to watch that number on the scale....
I’m concerned about how much you’ve gained already...
We sure there’s only one in there?? (Ha. Ha. Ha.)⁣
⁣
This nonsense - from the doctor and staff! In the space that should feel the safest, AMIRIGHT??⁣
⁣
Can we PLEASE change the conversation??⁣
⁣
Ask me how I’m eating and fueling my body.
Ask me what I’m doing to stay active.
Check in on my sleep and water intake.
Am I getting fresh air?
How are my stress and anxiety levels?
How is my mental and emotional state?⁣
⁣
Oh I’ll even take it a step further!⁣
⁣
Am I trying to reduce toxins in my life?
Do I opt for organic when I can?
How is my digestion?
What kinds of products and supplements am I using to support my body?
What am I doing just for ME?⁣
⁣
These are indicators of overall health. These are the conversations to have that SUPPORT and EMPOWER women in these stages of life, instead of freaking them the F out all the time! ⁣

I am more than a number on a scale. I’m a badass warrior Mama of two, doing everything I can to bring another strong & healthy woman into this world. ⁣
Can I get an AMEN?!⁣
⁣
PS I feel amazing, strong & healthy AF. And baby girl is growing beautifully 💕⁣

  • 39 days ago I was wheeled into an operating room because it was finally time to meet you sweet girl.

We were bringing you into this world in the safest way possible, for you and me both. It’s all that mattered to me and while I waited for your dad to get the okay to come sit next to me, I thought about what it would be like to finally hold you.

After 39 weeks of keeping you safe in my belly, I now had to share you with the world. And while carrying you was by far one of the toughest things I’ve had to do, it’s still hard to share you with the world sometimes. But holding you for that first time and seeing your dad bring you over to me, it was the best moment of my life.

I promise to do everything to keep you safe, give you a happy home, help you grow strong and healthy, all while showing you what the big world around you has to offer.

We’re still in this together, even if I do have to share you with the world now.

Nora Grace, it’s always been me and you sweet girl. God knew what He was doing when He made me your mama 💕

  • ✨Baby Mya is just 10 days old✨
In the 10 days- I’ve lost more than 1/2 the baby weight already, arms look skinny, back is sore, legs are weak and just walking up the stairs gets me out of breath. Oh and tired AF.

But! We have our beautiful baby girl who is thriving and that’s all that matters. Oh, and got MOST of my tastebuds back. 🥳 Still can’t eat some of my old favs like brussel sprouts, but I’ll take what I can get. 🤣

Amidst all the tiredness and struggles, I’m feeling so blessed to have my little girl finally here. *ps clearly a #tbt - be prepared for lots of throwback pics 🤣*

Going through the process of a complete lifestyle change is never easy. It takes a a bit of motivation and A LOT of discipline. ⁣⁣
But it eventually becomes FUN! You realize how strong and capable you really are ✨⁣⁣
⁣⁣
When making any change you have to ALLOW yourself to be great. The number one obstacle is always YOU. It’s not your schedule, it’s not your kids, it’s not your job ... it’s YOU. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Get out of your way .. go be great 🥰❤️. ⁣⁣

  • TGIF. I think I’ll be in these sweatpants all weekend 🙌🏻⁣
⁣
Jackson and I spent a good 2 hours at the arboretum this afternoon and we could have stayed there all day with how nice this weather is. SPRING HAS SPRUNG! 💐 ⁣
⁣
We came home for nap time and I always think...ooh maybe I’ll take a nap too. IT NEVER HAPPENS...I just start doing something and by the time I’m like okay, I’m going to lay down...nap time is almost over so what’s the point now? Who can relate?!! 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

  • I almost didn’t share these photos.
.
Not because I’m ashamed, but actually because I’m really freaking proud.
.
When I snapped the photo on the left, it was the day I found out we were expecting. I was SO excited, but honestly wasn’t sure how my body would react to being pregnant. I took that picture thinking “this will be my goal to get back to after pregnancy.” I anticipated feeling huge, and having a hard time mentally with the physical changes.
.
But that never happened. I fell in love with being pregnant and the entire process for 41 weeks!
.
The photo in the middle is at 40 weeks and the photo on the right is today... 3.5 weeks postpartum. To say that I’m astonished at what our bodies are capable of... what MY body was capable of... is a complete and utter understatement.
.
So I almost didn’t share these photos because I didn’t want others to compare THEIR journey to MY journey. But ultimately my hope is that we ALL strive to love ourselves in EVERY chapter. It doesn’t matter if it’s where we want to be or not...what matters is that we appreciate where we are right now! My goal is not to get back to the photo on the left...instead, I know I’m a better, more improved version of that girl and I’m going to strive to continue to BE better!

  • This is the week I’ve been dreading. 27 weeks pregnant.

I remember so vividly walking up to my CrossFit coach after one one of my last workouts and saying, “yeah, I’m not sure how much longer I can do this.” That was at the end of 26 weeks pregnant with Meave (my second child). He graciously said I could keep using the box for as long as I felt up to it but didn’t blame me for slowing down. I knew it would be the end of my working out until I gave birth 10 weeks later.

A total let down, a total disappointment, but I also wasn’t going to pay $150 a month (the YEARLY cost of my current workouts) to “show up” and not be able to keep up with the WOD.
.
.
I wish I had known then, what I know now.
.
👉🏻It doesn’t take a CrossFit style workout to get results.
.
👉🏻It doesn’t need to cost an arm and a leg to find fit community.
.
👉🏻It doesn’t need to kill you to make you feel accomplished.
.
👉🏻It doesn’t require 100 pieces of equipment to work.
.
.
What does it take to successfully make it through an active pregnancy or LIFE?? (Yes, I know everyone is different and consult your doctor)….but, here’s what I’ve learned.
.
✨Consistently showing up builds routine. Routine creates habits. Habits compound into change. Consistency is key.
.
✨It doesnt have to be hard. In fact, many of the workouts I’m working through right now are not even sweat-breaking because of the modifications I’m doing. But hey, I’m doing it.
.
✨Perhaps the outrageous cost you pay might help you stay accountable…but probably not. The programs I do are less than .30 cents a DAY.
.
✨Having a team to rely on, collaborate with, share with and cheer on is so important, and this can all be done virtually!
.
✨Its possible. Everything is possible. Mindset Matters.
.
.
If you are struggling to find the motivation to start or to keep going, you are not alone! Finding the best solution for your life is all I ever want for anyone! But if you are stuck, I might be able to help you out! Shoot me a DM for a spot in my March bootcamp! ☘️

  • Workouts are becoming more of a challenge now that I have a bump 😳 But I’ve learned from my other 2 pregnancies that keeping up with my workouts is a must 💪 I recently switched from doing the incline leg press to the Smith machine to work my legs (better to be upright when pregnant). Here is a mini circuit I’ve been doing after some incline walking on the treadmill: ...
- Smith machine weighted squats (I use about 25-35lb plates) - Upright Rows using one 25lb plate
- Overhead Tricep Extensions w/ 25lb plate
- Angled pull-up on Smith machine bar (walk feet out until you are almost in an inverted plank position)
**I do about 15 reps of each back to back and do 3-4 sets total 👍

  • Completely in awe of the miracle of life. Got to see our baby yesterday for the first time and hear the precious heart beat.🥰 I’m turning 37 this year & never in my wildest dreams thought I would get a chance to do this again. I’m so full of gratitude that I keep tearing up randomly throughout the day. This baby has no idea how loved & cherished they will be💕💕💕

  • CORE ACTIVATION, PART 2: Pelvic Floor Activation- Slow ⠀ ⠀

The pelvic floor consists of 14 muscles that have attachment points at the front, back and sides of your pelvis. ⠀ ⠀

The term “kegel” is well known, but it only focuses on the front of the pelvic floor. You want to be able to engage the entire pelvic floor in a full range of motion- this means being able to both contract and fully relax and lengthen your PF. {Being able to relax your pelvic floor is important for the pushing stage of labor!} ⠀ ⠀

How to find the front, back & sides of your pelvic floor: ⠀
1. Sit upright in a chair ⠀
2. FRONT of pelvic floor: the “kegel”- imagine you have to pee and stop the flow of urine- contract those muscles and then release like you would if peeing ⠀
3. BACK of PF: imagine you are trying to stop yourself from passing gas- contract those muscles then release **try not to engage your glutes** ⠀
4. SIDES of PF: sit on your hands with one hand under each of your SITZ bones- imagine brining your SITZ bones together and then releasing ⠀ ⠀

Now put it all together! Practice bringing all four points together and upward and then fully releasing. You can imagine lifting a blueberry up with the muscles and then lowering it all the way back down. ⠀ ⠀

Final Step- coordinate with your 360 breath {see my previous post on how to do 360 breathing.} On your inhale allow your pelvic floor to relax and on your exhale draw your PF together + upward. This is your PFA-slow, and it targets the fibers that stabilize the pelvis and support the pelvic organs. ⠀ ⠀

Start practicing & let me know if you have questions below! 👇🏼

  • I tried this after trying to use the V bar and not being able to get full muscle contraction due to my belly. 😁
.
I fell in love. I get a nice stretch in my lats and actually feel my whole back working rather than isolating my upper back.

  • No, normal pregnant women don’t "have" to keep their heart rate below 140 beats per minute during exercise. .

There's really no data to back up this long-standing myth, which likely had its origins in a time when doctors and scientists—knowing very little about pregnancy exercise—erred on the side of caution when it came to physical activity recommendations for pregnant women.

These days we DO know more about pregnancy exercise, and based on decades of research the ACOG explicitly advises expecting women to perform at least 20 to 30 minutes of moderately intense exercise every day. Because the benefits for mom and baby FAR outweigh the risks in normal pregnancies. ACOG also says that women who are already fit and used to vigorous exercise are free to continue exercising this hard, up to an hour per day—which totally aligns with our MYB exercise programs, btw!

Now, if one is a staying below 140 BPMs naturally in your moderately intense exercise… that's totally ok. But to arbitrarily keep women out of the 140+ heart rate zone is unnecessary and scientifically unfounded. If anything, we think it's detrimental because it may deter some women from working out hard enough or at all, out of fear of getting their heart rate up too much.

It's also quite possible that short bouts of vigorously intense exercise is safe and beneficial for most pregnant women regardless of their prior fitness level.  We just don't have enough data (yet) to make this kind of general recommendation, so in the meantime we here at MYB will stick to ACOG's recommendations.

Re: The ACOG, expecting women with normal low-risk pregnancies, regardless of their fitness level, should workout almost every day, at least at a moderately intense level. This includes aerobic exercise and strength training. If an OB/GYN advises otherwise, it's either because exercise is contraindicated for that individual woman OR because the OB isn't aware of the updated ACOG protocols, which we have seen in research to be over 50% of them. Let’s get everyone educated 👊🏻 #moveyourbump.

⠀
Having little motivators such as a new pair of shoes, a cute headband, or even a full set from @fabletics has been a driving force for me on my personal journey to keep pushing for the goals I have set for myself - from having confidence on our wedding day to now rocking my second “fit pregnancy” ⠀
⠀
If you find that you struggle when it comes to staying on track with your fitness program or nutrition plan or whatever goal you have set for yourself, find what motivates you and reward yourself. Celebrate your success ⭐⠀

You can workout pregnant and I give you modifications in class for pregnancy and postpartum! I love encouraging new and seasoned moms to stay healthy during the whole process! I can’t wait for her to come back to class once she is recovered! 🥰

  • Kids did NOT give me much time to workout, but I didn’t let that stop me! I did 👆🏼 just 2 rounds and already feel better! It’s so easy to get hard on ourselves if we don’t do what we or other expect of us. Just remember that moving everyday and feeling good is what matters most! Even if all you do is go up and down the stairs for laundry, that’s something! Happy Friday fit fam! *note*this is diastasis reci safe!

  • This picture wasn’t taken today, it was taken on a better day when my littlest girl and I weren’t feeling under the weather. But as I was sitting here thinking how annoying it is to be home with a cold, I realized how much I am taking this day for granted.
When I started my business, I started it in order to create a life of choices. I cannot imagine having to decide if my kid was “sick enough” to use one of my allotted sick days, and unfortunately that’s the reality for so many people. Instead, I have the freedom to keep my girl home and take care of her when she is feeling bad. And guess what, my income will not be affected... and I have actually made money today sitting on my couch and snuggling her.

That is truly the beauty of this business, and residual income. Never in a million years did I think I would do “one of these things”. But now I can’t imagine it any other way.
I know I talk a lot about our healthy living program and our products... but truly the best “product” I have to offer is this business opportunity, and I don’t share that NEAR enough.

If there is any part of you that wishes you had more freedom in your choices, and what you do with your time... reach out to me. Im never going to pressure you into doing anything that isn’t a fit for you and your family, but what if it was a fit? If you don’t change what you’re doing with your life, how can you expect a different outcome?

  • No pace, or distance... just an overall time of an hour 🤷🏻‍♀️. Felt wiped out before this swim and decided to get in my swim suit and give it a go. I literally stood there for a minute after getting on my suit... and contemplated taking it off and climbing back in the bed, but it seemed like too much effort 🤪. Swim didn’t energize me the way I had hoped, but it didn’t make me feel more wiped out, so I consider that a win. This is the first pregnancy I have not felt the need to nap... at all 😳. Extremely thankful I’ve had so much energy! No complaints here that today wasn’t a more energetic day! I honestly am one of those crazy women who loves being pregnant (and just about everything that comes after the kiddos are born) and I’m amazed that I’m enjoying it even more this time around! .

⁣
Last weekend I went for my first postpartum business trip! The whole fam came along and it was great fun to work on myself and be with the ones I love too. Being an entrepreneur is not the easiest thing in the world but having a community of support makes it more fun that’s for sure.⁣
⁣
Pre-baby I would’ve woken up at 5 AM to work out before a day full of conferences… spent a leisurely 90 mins lifting... However things have changed👶🏻🥰⁣
⁣
I’ve enjoyed doing shorter, less complicated workouts with minimal materials-It’s a good challenge and honestly? I feel pretty dang good knowing I can take care of myself no matter where I am. I feel like postpartum women are supposed to be constantly working on themselves to get back to some other place. I find the greatest pleasure in enjoying where I am in the moment and knowing that my life is so much fuller and happier than it once was. Time goes so quickly, being present is definitely the key to enjoying it the most & not wishing time away. ⁣
⁣
Baby boy just turned 12 weeks!😭 Time is absolutely flying… As a new mom I know the best thing I can do is make sure that I have time for myself, work on my goals (work, family, fitness!) & spend time with my little guy as well. ⁣
⁣
♠️Push-ups⁣ 3x10
♦️Split squats⁣ 3x10
♠️Feet elevated glute bridge⁣ 3x20
♦️Squats holds- (hold arms up in the middle and back for 10 seconds each hold a squat the whole time)⁣ 3 rounds of :30 each ⁣
(🤱nursing bra by @lactamed I live in these!)

  • Shop in color so you can cook with lots of colors!

Colorful foods, mostly fruits & veggies, contain many vitamins & antioxidants needed for your body and provide many amazing benefits. So try to eat the rainbow 🌈 Rule of thumb: the more colors on your plate, the more nutrients.
.
🔴 RED - may help protect against certain cancers, lower risk of diabetes, supports eye health, and even can improve skin appearance!
.
🟠🟡 ORANGE/YELLOW - Converted into vitamin A, which helps support immune system, strong joints & bones, reduces risk of heart disease, and eye health.
.
🟢 GREEN - cleaning toxins which helps lower risk of cancer, supports digestion, boosts immune system, and helps increase energy!
.
🔵🟣 BLUE/PURPLE - super changed antioxidants! Help heart & brain function, strengthens cells, and reduces inflammation!

I know I have this photo without proof all over it but it's MIA...
.
Anyways, it was announced today that there will be no Hershey half marathon this year (or possibly ever)..
.
Super bummed about this. Not only was it my favorite half marathon but it was my first. This past year was my 3rd time doing it and I was 21 weeks pregnant. That was a huge deal for me since I had to quit running during the 2nd half of my first pregnancy. I hope that it's not done for good!
.
I checked into the Runners World half since I've done that one before but it's been the same day as Hershey for the past 2 years.. turns out that one has been cancelled too. .
So I guess it's time to start searching for a new half marathon to do this fall..

  • One of my go to breakfasts these days. I love these on days when I wake up and want something sweet that will leave me feeling full until lunch time. 💗 💗 💥Peanut butter oatmeal
💥1 banana 💥A handful of frozen mixed berries (I get it from Costco)
💥Almond slices or coconut flakes
I use almond milk or 3.25% milk to make it because that's what I always have at home. Lately it's been 3.25% milk because I want nothing to do with almond milk 🤣🤣 (it's a temporary situation I'm sure of it). 💗 💗

Happy friday. What are some of your go to breakfasts? You can say chocolate I wont judge you 😊😊

Happy friday. What are some of your go to breakfasts? You can say chocolate I wont judge you 😊😊

  • Wrapping up Heart Health month at Jazzercise Greenville Greer with @lindsww ... 7 months pregnant #legend 😍
Did you know that exercising while pregnant is not only good for mom’s heart, it’s good for baby’s too? ❤️
According to a 2011 study, infants whose mothers exercised while pregnant developed stronger, more athletic hearts even before birth. Their pulses were slower and the beat-to-beat variability was greater, a general indication of better-conditioned cardiac muscles. ❤️
Whether or not you’re expecting, Lindsey loves to see you “bumping” up your heart rate in her classes!
