Change is coming.
Everything in your life will begin to propel forward.
You'll notice a shift from stagnation to flow, from lack to abundance, from confusion to clarity, from pain to peace.
This is the turning point.
Enjoy the ride! And see you in shavasana as always!
☮⇟ Surrender ⇞☮ Because I have worked SO hard to be in a good place; mentally, spiritually, emotionally and now physically. I don't want any hesitation in my life; anything that will make me feel anxious or stressed. Yesterday I realised (after an unfortunate incident) that I have become quite reactionary to anything threatening my sense of self and happiness.
I'm not (or haven't been) allowing for the ebs and flows of life to wash over and within me. Instead I have been fiercely protecting my light by cutting cords whenever and wherever I feel a sense of anxiety about it. And I've cut the cord too short...there has to be balance. I can't have all the answers NOW. Like in my yoga asana practice, I cannot do everything in my first class, it takes time to grow and nurture myself into those peak poses. I can practice and practice and practice, but ultimately, it takes time to build those muscles and strengthen those tendons.
Life is not perfect. It's FULL of stress and anxiety and sadness, just like it's full of happiness and love and excitement! And it will ALWAYS be like that. Being at peace when those things happen...well, that is perhaps enlightenment. To be untouchable almost. Aparigrahā (non - attachment/ non-grasping) is a yogic step towards enlightenment, or atleast freedom from being controlled by things that happen RIGHT NOW. Sit, surrender, let it be. I surrender.
So excited to be off spending a week in the sun! Then when I’m back, it’s only 3 weeks until I’m away again, to spend a week in Spain with my business besties for our annual success summit 🙌🏻 So crazy to think, if I was still in my full time job I probably wouldn’t have been able to say yes to both of these trips - it would’ve meant using up half of my annual holiday allowance in the first two months of the year, meaning I’d barely be able to make any plans for the next 10 months! It’s such a blessing not to have to worry about that now. Our time really is too precious not to be able to spend it how we want.
✨EXCITING✨ you might have seen me mention on my stories a few days ago that I have added a “Shop” page to my website, it includes links to a lot of the products that you guys ask me about all the time - where I buy my equipment/mat/leggings etc annnd some super handy discount codes 💅 I can now tell you that the brand I buy my leotards (that I love for training and photo shoots!) and dance tights @movedancewear have very kindly given me a 5% discount code UNIQ10 to share with you 😍
Splits away - figurehead - washing line - hip lean - stag
Core + stability + flexibility = a lot of effort
How is it possible it looks so easy? 😮😮😮
Doubletap if you sometimes see a new pose and you think it's easy and while you're trying it you suffer and look like drunk 😀
During my cool down stretches yesterday I was finally able to touch my head to my knees in the sitting toe touch stretch. It’s hard to see progress until you hit a milestone. #aerialhammock#flexibility#progress
In the beginning I was advised to take up Yoga and Pilates as a solution to a back issue, which was aggravated by all the running I was doing.
The yoga class I went to in those early days was full of older people ( older than me that is ) and much of the time was spent just lying on the floor, so I tended to concentrate more on the pilates.
Nothing was really taught, or explained, so I likely picked up a pile of bad habits.
Then we ( the family ) changed gyms, suddenly there was a teacher who was more active, and I started paying a bit more attention.
Yoga wasn't a rest anymore, it was a bit more challenging, so peaked my interest.
I even managed ( after some effort ) to get the husband to come with me, ( and this is still something we do together every week ).
Now I practice on average 4 hours a week, with 4 very different teachers, each class is very different for the last, I never clock watch, and the classes whizz by.
I still run, and there has been no / or very little reoccurrence of the back problem. (And have now dropped pilates all together.)
Growing up, I used to spend my summers on the Croatian coast - rocks and crystal clear water. Maybe that’s why I don’t find sandy beaches as attractive as most people do. Don’t get me wrong, you won’t hear me say no to the feeling of the sand between my toes, but I’ll always prefer coming out of the water clean, with no sand in the most peculiar parts of my body. I’m curious to know about you, which ones do you prefer? 🏝🌊

Self myofasical release: using foam rollers, trigger point therapy or active release therapy (ART) are all tools you should know about. •••Benefits:
1. Iron out the knots and tightness in the fascia
2. Increase blood flow and hence oxygenation.
3. Reduce tension and DOMS
4. Improve range of motion in joints and muscles over a period of time.
5. Prevent injuries and reduce fatigue. ••• if you do it BEFORE workout, follow this up with banded exercises and activation moves to fire up your stabilisers and then hit your main workout. ••• if you do it AFTER a workout, stretch!!
