It's #NationalAmericanEagleDay ! On this day in 1783, the bald eagle was selected to be the central image of the Great Seal of the United States.
The majestic birds are considered an Endangered Species Act success story for making a remarkable recovery from their near-extinction. They were removed from the endangered species list in August 2007 but are still protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Act. Florida has one of the densest concentrations of nesting bald eagles in the lower 48 states. Bald eagles use forested habitats for nesting and roosting, and expanses of shallow fresh or salt water for foraging. They feed on a wide variety of prey, mostly on fish such as catfish but also on birds and small mammals. #FLStateParks

Check out my story! I’m seeking suggestions as to where in Florida I should explore next! I’m looking for the next coastal city or town to go learn about and to shoot some photography and film.

Best way to spot otters in Florida? A clear kayak! Video coming soon just in case you want to put this on your bucket list. Also, feeling like I should start an Otter Spotter IG account with 24/7 footage of otters. #goprohero7black footage by @_austinstoner.
What is all the buzz about? It's #NationalPollinatorWeek !
Did you know more than 75 percent of the Earth's flowering plants depend on bees, butterflies, birds, bats, and other pollinators? We aren't pollen your leg! #FLStateParks

This was the first Tri-colored Heron that I saw when I moved to Florida about a year and a half ago. So full of color and beauty!
