Do you ever stop to consider how removed your mammalian body is from it's natural habitat? That we did not evolve to sit in chairs, in cars, on couches, stand all day on concrete, be forced to birth our babies lying on our backs, sit at a desks, stare at screens, fake the real with machines?
We don't buy food so much as we support factories. We don't swim enough in the seas, we approximate them in-doors with chemicals.* We allow the factories we support to pollute the real deal. We choke out the life in the vast expanse of the waters.
We allow the old paradigm---a constant grab for money and power--one that leaves the richer rich and those with less, especially those who aren't the top of the patriarchal food-chain struggling more. Why should we struggle just to be alive. There's more than enough for everyone.
How can we be more wild? Able to live with the understanding that we are beautiful human animals who are supported by cooperation rather than the allure of isolation and pretty things. Guess what else is pretty?
Love. We are supposed to love, and be loved. To play, to enjoy the stars which are visible so exquisitely outside of the light pollution of our cities.
Our cultural values stand in the way of our art.
You are not fucked up. The old paradigm is, and the only way it changes is if we see it for what it is and are brave enough to open our minds to the new ideas pouring in: of caring for ourselves with a deeper compassion, can you totally and fully love and accept yourself recently as you are right now?
Can we begin seeing others as mirrors instead of Others? How can we love the earth, our Mother, who we need to return to, to heal it all, to heal ourselves. To ask forgiveness, to say thank you? 💚
