I feel like a lot of people don’t understand what goes into raising young horses. Yes, they may look skinnier than we’d hope, be butt high, have higher withers etc. •
Horses are not done growing until they’re 4 or 5. Every horse is different! But don’t expect a 2yr old to look like a million bucks. It’s just not going to happen. Yes, you can build your horse’s muscle tone but at the end of the day they’re still growing and will gain and lose everything like crazy.

So happy with my boys today!! Jackson was a super start! With a new jumping record of 3ft!!! (The video is only 33inch) im so proud of him! We also worked on sowm obstacles stuff, it was pretty rough at first but then got better! I worked on basic movements and baby jumps! Hes slowling figuring out his legs lol! .
Oh I was supposed to be riding in a dressage clinic? Sorry Buckey and I must have misheard what we were doing.

Today I filled up water troughs during nap time! Everyone was catching some z’s, and it was too cute! I love these kids so much. Bryson got lunged a bit. Still trying to figure it all out a bit. Then he got some Gatorade and enjoyed grazing with his buddies while I watched
How is this for a Transformation Tuesday?! 😱 Thunder was a barely handled stallion a month and a half ago, he would constantly try to bite and wouldn’t let people even brush him without kicking out and spinning around to nip. His tail was matted and drug on the ground, and his experiences with people at that point was being completely restrained and tied down whenever they needed to trim or medicate him. He was fearful, aggressive, and had no clue how to just be! Fast forward a month and a half and Thunder is THRIVING! He is sweet, snuggly, healthy, doing so amazing in his training and is happy happy happy!! We are so glad we got to be a part of this special little boys transformation 💚💚💚
I didn’t end up riding today - the kids got to go to another 4Her’s house and ride in their arena this evening, so I went with to help. Unfortunately we got cut a little shorter than we wanted due to a big storm starting to roll in, but they still got some good riding time in! We have a lottt to work on in the next 3 days before county fair, though 🙄 Speaking of fair, @western_riding_reilly has another lesson bright and early at 8 tomorrow morning! And then it’s boot camp time for the kiddos 😉 .
QOTD: if you could have any superpower, what would you want it to be and why? .
I missed him so much while I was away. It's nice to be back because of Mardi, but I'm definitely looking forward to my next trip.
This time next year maybe I'll get to travel with my own horse ! (Mardi isnt good to travel 😅 or else I'd be taking him haha)
dinaria being cute the other morning :)
rode estrella and dinaria today! i just rode dinaria, and i have to say, she was terrible 😅 i asked for the bare minimum and she barely gave me that, she chewed on the bit, she was either lazy or reactive, and whenever i asked her to slow down she would start to rolkur. so y’all won’t see any riding videos of her anytime soon 😂
on the brighter side, estrella did great for her first ride in over a month! she was still quite a bit out of it since the farrier sedated her to reshoe her, so i tried a new bit on her! she was a well-behaved, relaxed little pony (even after she woke up) so i plan on riding her in that bit more :)
how many times a week do u ride in summer?
i ride anywhere from 2-10 times a week, depending on the weather 😂
Story time! I could not be prouder of my boy from this weekend 😭 (Peep the flyings!!) He was so good through the rain and heat and... jumper courses?? 🤪
Sadly we weren’t able to get video of them (hopefully pics later 🤞🏼) but this horse here seriously went into the half of the stadium he’s never been on and jumped things he’s never seen before and ended out getting third in the first course we’ve ever done going fast and neither of us knowing what we were doing. It was a religious experience that I’m definitely thinking about tapping into because we were both so much more confident in just going for it, and I know Percy enjoyed being pushed instead of held. Percy is a sensitive horse anyway but during these courses we were just so in tune with each other all I had to do was think and he would follow through. I can see so many more pathways for our future and his potential in it that we might just be converts! 🙌🏼

it’s been a while but i rode penny today and we had a super good and calm equitation ride which i’m super happy about. one more week until we leave for equifest and i can’t wait.
The best boy was absolutely perfect today! 😍
Yesterday I started a 30 day fitness challenge. Today I can't feel my legs.😅 Fitness is so important as equestrians.
We ask so much of our horses physically, and develop intricate plans for bringing them into top condition, yet we often forget about ourselves. We as riders, are responsible for making the horses job as easy to understand and complete as possible. However, that is made more difficult by us ignoring our own body condition. A fit rider will have better coordination, and so be better able to communicate clear aids to the horse. A fit rider will have better balance, and so be able to stay with the horse throughout all his movements, and not comprise his balance by loosing her own. A fit rider will have longer endurance, and not tire to the point of giving sloppy aids. Lastly, a fit rider will be strong. She will be able to train longer, and more intensely. She will bring her and her horse to new levels of understanding and achievement.
There are many more benefits of being fit. I am just learning this. I did a small core workout everyday for a week, and I could already feel myself more stable in the saddle! I really hope I can stick with this workout. It's really hard, and sometimes the motivation won't come. Today is only day two, and I'm already struggling, but, we must persevere for the horses sake.☺️
9:36pm, 16th July 2019. Today I sent my first query.
Firstly thank you to my dear friend Monique for listening to me squealing down my phone as I pressed send, I needed that 🤣 You've been my rock these last months, and have help me more than I could express. (You are best bish ♥️)
Secondly a massive thank you to @storycentric_editing
My phenomenal editor, I owe her so, so much. She's worked so hard to help me get to this stage and continues to do so ♥️ (just wait till book two finds its way to you and you'll probably reconsider helping me 🤣🤣) I recommend her services tenfold! Very passionate about their work and produce fantastic results each time. .
There's so many more people to thank for helping me get to the stage where I'm not only submitting, but actually confident about my work ♥️ .
This is the first of many queries naturally! Aiming for 1-2 a week as a starting point. Rejections are sure to come along, but hey, we aren't here to please everyone 👌 .

I have not seen my horses since last Thursday and it feels like 500 years have passed since then😂 Thankfully tomorrow the weather will finally start to cooperate with us and we’ll be able to get back to our regular schedule. And while I won’t be quite this fancy when I see them I’m pretty sure my smile will be just as big 😆😁🐎 #ChetakHorses#EveryRiderHasAStory 📷 by @emilyannett
