  • It’s not easy. Whoever says it’s easy if full of shit! You have to want something enough to put in the hard work and be consistent with whatever goal is, to reap the rewards.

It’s all about mindset. If you want something bad enough, you will do whatever it takes to get there. I’ve done every fad diet out there. Sure, they work while you are on them. But, most are not sustainable long term. I’m almost 40! And I finally decided to do things the right way. I was all about fast results before, and I’d get them, but it never lasted, because it wasn’t sustainable.

A year and a half ago, I stepped on the scale and was in disbelief of the number I saw. I was almost 200 lbs! I blame stretch jeans👖 for not allowing me to notice sooner! From that day forward, I decided to get serious about my workouts and diet. I started doing BodyRock workouts consistently, and watching carefully what I was fuelling my body with. When I first started with BodyRock, I thought there is no way I will be able to wear a weighted vest to add intensity to the workouts. And, at first, I couldn’t. But, I kept showing up everyday for my workouts. I got stronger both physically and mentally. And, i can now wear a 6lb and 8lb vest during my workouts. 
I’ve lost 35 lbs since I started! It’s now become a lifestyle, as cliche as that sounds, it really has!

The “I Train”mentality is a test every single day of your self-discipline to push yourself physically and mentally.⁣

It takes you away from solely focusing on physique goals- yeah it’s an awesome side benefit, but it brings light to the way nitty gritty training makes you FEEL.⁣

Is it ok to have physique goals? YUP!  Everyone has them #bootygoals , but I will tell you from experience, once you hit that goal, you’re going to want and crave more of it, making that goal essentially never good enough.⁣

Chasing after the perfect physique is going to keep you motivated for only so long.  But falling in love with movement elevates your level of commitment, drive, and love for the greatest piece of machinery you’ll ever work on...THAT, my friend, is what will keep you inspired, and less focused on whether or not your body has reached your expectations yet.⁣

So TELL ME, do you have this type of focus before your workout, or are you running around just hoping to get some form of movement in for the day?⬇️⁣

My functional lower body workout today worked up such a sweat 💦 and set everything so right for the rest of the day ☺ ⠀⠀

💪 Rack hold lunge matrix (4 x complete matrix): you gotta watch all the way to the end to see all 6 lunge variations! We hit both sides for each movement, and be careful with weight choice. Maybe even try set 1 without weight ☺ ⠀⠀

💪 Box jumps downs (3 x 12): here we’re bouncing back as quickly as possible and not resetting on the ground 💃 ⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
💪 Slam ball raises (4 x 10): we’re driving up with the legs and glutes quickly, not slamming the ball down and letting it drop instead 💅 ⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
💪 1.5 rep squats (3 x 6): we’re only coming up half way on the first lift of each rep, then getting that 🍑 back down to go again 🙏 They burn. Stay safe. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
💪 Overhead reverse lunge to knee drive (3 x 8 per side): pick a light, light weight to start, or just keep the weight at chest height if you prefer! ⠀⠀
