Just check out these modern straw creations ! All of them are handmade by gifted and talented local artisans. They are colourful and unique, come in all shapes and sizes, and can be used as handbags, laundry baskets, shopping baskets, large sun hats, hand fans or just to provide a touch of colourful decoration. I can’t even start to imagine the patience and dedication of these artists and sellers, working in extreme heat conditions, just trying to make a living. Our talent, strength and art are raw, and the world should see it 🌍❤️ #IAmGhana@mrsivorycoast
My Ghanaian journey. 2007. Traveled to northern Ghana. Pikworo slave camp is located in Paga, a community in the Upper Region. Enslaved Africans were bought and sold here. This was on the route to the castles on the coast where Africans boarded ships to never see home again. While I experienced the richness and beauty of Ghana, I also experienced lessons in my history. This too was part of my journey. To walk the paths that my ancestors may have walked... #ghana#ghana 🇬🇭 #yearofreturn#yearofreturnghana#conversationswithmysisters#africa
Plot twist: it isn't always a glamorous look. Sometimes, more attention is drawn from a disheveled or unexpected appearance (like a wrinkled, bright yellow tank top at a funeral...). The end-game in everything a narcissists does is to receive attention. 📷: Bruce Mars
Ghana is beautiful for everything in it
The people, the food and the nature
From the east to the west to the north and south.
Visited the Well known as Boti “twin” water fall. Known for its height and dual separation described and believed by the natives to be a male and female waterfall.
Care for nature? Or you prefer the city life ?

Last month, our founder @iam.ejiro interviewed the First Lady of New York City - Mrs. Chirlane McCray at the #AfricanDiasporaAwards in NYC to get her sentiments on the ground-breaking #YearOfReturn initiative led by the Ghanaian government this past December.
Key takeaway: “I see it as a healing that is long overdue”. 💫
Now that the #YearofReturn December festivities have past, you can truly say the experience was a healing for hundreds of black Diasporans who finally had the chance to connect with their true roots, in Africa. 🌍
