  • So I put on my SBD sleeves for the first time today and it was a workout in and of itself. I was dripping with sweat before I even started squatting. Forever grateful to the kind human who showed me how to fold them over to pull them up all the way.

I'm slowly amassing the things I'll need for my powerlifting meet in June, so I'll be used to everything by then. Sleeves felt amazing. Tight and supportive. But my knees were so sweaty afterwards 💦😂 This week is a well needed deload. Felt really good to squat and bench without worrying about the weight. The mental and physical fatigue over the last couple of weeks pushing over 90% was new and taxing.

I'm learning that it's necessary to take a step back and focus on the big picture in powerlifting training. There are peaks that are just a lot harder than most weeks. It's very different than how my bodybuilding workouts felt last year, where the goal was to always minimize fatigue to get more workouts in.

wie motiviert seid ihr heute in die neue Woche gestartet? Eigentlich habe ich letzte Nacht echt gut geschlafen, aber mein Bett war heute einfach viel zu gemütlich 😴Also habe ich meinen dritten Wecker, nach dem ich eigentlich aufstehen sollte, glaube ich dreimal auf Schlummern gestellt.
Dementsprechend durfte ich mich dann noch einen Gang zusätzlich zulegen, um meine Tram zu erwischen 🚃🏃🏽‍♀️hat aber funktioniert.
Und weil heute Montag ist, oh Wunder, habe ich natürlich meinen Zirkel durchgezogen. An und für sich besteht der eigentlich immer aus den gleichen Stationen. Meistens tausche ich nur ein bis zwei Übungen aus. So wie ich eben Lust habe. Dabei achte ich aber meistens darauf, dass alle Muskelgruppen abgedeckt sind. Jedenfalls komme ich dabei immer ordentlich ins Schwitzen!
Leider musste ich in den letzten Wochen meistens allein trainieren. Gerade bei Zirkel-Workouts finde ich einen Partner zur Motivation super hilfreich 🏋🏼‍♀️🤸🏼‍♀️. Wenn ich dann doch mal ohne Partner trainieren muss, versuche ich mich selbst zu pushen, indem ich zum Beispiel Wiederholungen in den einzelnen Übungen zähle. Dann weiß ich wie viele ich MINDESTENS machen MUSS, bzw. dass ich diese Zahl übersteigen WILL. Habt ihr Tipps und Tricks, wie ihr euch selbst an eure Grenzen bringt?

Jetzt noch 30 min Cardio und abschließend noch ein kurzes Posingtraining.

Mein Coach hat gestern entschieden,  das es diese Woche doch noch weiter mehr Kohlenhydrate gibt😬 na gut, dann müssen die MEHR Streifen und  Adern doch noch etwas warten und meine Laune bleibt noch erträglich 😅
.
Zum Thema Cheatday und Essstörung hab ich noch einen Tipp,  der mir gerade selbst in meiner Wettkampfdiät hilft:☝️
Ich plane diesen vorher,  dh es wird festgelegt wieviel Kalorien ich essen darf. Dann überlege ich, was ich alles gern essen mag (mir hilft es, wenn ich von mehreren Sachen etwas esse anstatt eine Sache und davon ALLES).
Das heißt es artet nicht aus sondern ich teile es mir geplant ein. .
Es gab nämlich auch bei mir Cheatdays die waren ungeplant und ich hatte die Freiheit darüber - damit war ich völlig überfordert,  denn ich hatte Angst ich bekomme nicht genug und wenn es hieß "nun reicht es langsam"😬😤 ihr könnt euch nicht vorstellen,  wie dann meine  Laune aussah😱.
Die Einsicht kam sehr schnell von mir, das ich das soo nicht will.... ich überlegte mit meinem Coach,  was wir ändern können .
Und da ich mit einem festen Plan sehr gut zurecht komme, war das einleuchtend,  das eben auch der Cheatday geplant wird.
.
Und danach geht es sauber weiter. .
Ich weiß es gibt viele da draußen,  die leiden unter ihren Essstörungen... probiert es mal aus,  vielleicht hilft es euch 😘

  • The one thing I’ve found with my body, is that when I consistently stay focused in the gym, and eat right, my abs will always start to show. Which to me is crazy, because I remember being younger and doing abs everyday and never seeing any progress but now I do abs maybe (like really maybe) 2 times a week at the end of my workout. Biggest thing I can stress, is 80-20. 80% diet, 20% exercise when it comes to core.

That’s what I looked like every single day when I went to bed. The bloating started after lunch no matter what I ate. ⁣

I mean I was eating healthy. All the colors, all⁣
natural, all the right macros. Didn’t matter. ⁣

I refused to go out if I was having a "fat" day, because of the symptoms. ⁣
⁣
This went on for basically 3 decades of my life.⁣
3 decades of denial, the wrong diets, & hoping it would magically get better. ⁣
⁣

Some things I wished I had known:⁣
👉🏻 Chronic bloating, gas, constipation, etc are not normal.⁣
👉🏻 We are what we digest & absorb. Just because a food is deemed "healthy" doesn't mean its healthy for you if it causing GI issues & you're seeing whole pieces of undigested food in your stool.⁣
👉🏻 Most supps, pills, & sketchy detoxes are nothing more than chemical shit storms of bad decisions that jack up the homeostasis of your body.⁣
👉🏻 All our guts are different & require different amounts of carbs/fiber. Just because Sally can live off kale, tofu, & rabbit food doesn't mean you can.⁣
👉🏻 Eating to reduce inflammation & control your blood sugar is more important than trying to eat the perfect "diet."⁣
👉🏻 And most importantly...Your hormones & gut don't give a fuck you want abs or nailed your macros. Your body only knows if you're nourished or not. #guthealthdiet #scd #paleo #lowfodmapdiet⁣

{ It's FINALLY starting to feel like Springtime *might* be coming!🤞
I'm definitely noticing all of the Spring vegetables available at the markets right now.
Time to take advantage of all of this seasonal goodness!
makes 4 servings 
Ingredients:
4 cups mixed spring greens of choice 
2 small/med zucchini, rinsed, ends trimmed, and spiralized

1 cup English peas, blanched*

1 cup asparagus, blanched*

1 cup snap peas, blanched*

1/4 cup radishes, chopped

1 ripe avocado,diced * to blanch peas, asparagus, and snap peas…place them in boiling water for just 45 seconds, drain, and immediately place them in an ice bath for a few minutes.

Creamy Garlic Dressing Recipe:

Makes about 2 cups {Serving size for dressing is 2 Tbsp per person}

Ingredients: • 1 cup extra-virgin olive oil • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar • 6-8 cloves garlic, crushed • 6 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice • 3 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley leaves • 2 tsp. sea salt • 2 tsp. dijon mustard • 1 Tbsp. raw honey 
Instructions:

1. Place oil, vinegar, garlic, lemon juice, parsley, salt, mustard, and honey in a high powered blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.

2. Stir immediately before using

3. Store in an airtight container, refrigerated for about a week.

Combine all salad ingredients with 1/4 cup dressing, gently toss, and add more dressing to taste if desired.

If anyone is curious, I added some chamomile flowers in to the salad, mostly because they are so pretty but they are edible 😀 💚Rachel

    3. Store in an airtight container, refrigerated for about a week.

    Combine all salad ingredients with 1/4 cup dressing, gently toss, and add more dressing to taste if desired.

    If anyone is curious, I added some chamomile flowers in to the salad, mostly because they are so pretty but they are edible 😀 💚Rachel

  • #MethodMonday !!! Let’s work our arms and our core. A few of the exercises we practise regularly to improve our running technique and strength are a great addition to your workout to strengthen your biceps, triceps and abdominals!

THE WORK OUT 
3 rounds with 2 minutes rest between each set. Set a timer for each exercise and do as many reps as you can in the time.

🔺Tricep Dips x 25 seconds 
Slightly bend your knees, place your hands shoulder width distance behind you and slightly bend at the elbows lowering the body then push up and straighten the arms.
💡The focus is on the arms lifting and lowering the body. If you would like to challenge your upper body strength, straighten your legs and really squeeze your glutes on the way up.

🔺Running Arms x 25 seconds on each leg
Sit in a lunge position, keep your arms locked at a 90degree angle and drive your elbows back and your fist towards your chin without opening out your arms. Engage your core, chest up and pump your arms as quick as you can! Then swap over lunge stance to complete exercise on other leg!
