  • Alright!! This time I’ve got definitive answers 🥳
Went to the ER just because the pain was worsening and I wanted answers. .

So, rare case Racheal over here for you—wouldn’t want it any other way obviously. .
Got three viles of blood to make sure rest of body was 👌🏼
Then we’ve established its cauliflower ear without the trauma. So, we cannot figure how or why my ear was packed with fluid and no hematoma to cut out. 
They sucked out the rest of the fluid that was in my ear (causally painful), they didn’t need to cut open my ear because there was no hematoma to cut out(that’s caused by trauma)and then the doc packed the crap out of it..as you can see. .

I will have the packing on until I see an ENT, so probably Monday afternoon-just have to wait to call them Monday morning. 
Long story short-I’m OK-hooked up on a lot of Motrin for this high pain tolerance gal, the fluid is out of my ear and taking two antibiotics to prevent infection👏🏼 Next steps: Going to the ENT will help establish no more fluid to come back and so my ear won’t look deformed.

  • Happy with how today’s squats went. Hit a PR double @ 235! Squats have been super frustrating lately for me. I’ve felt like I havent made any progress since October since that was the last time i set a PR. So I’m very excited with how today’s workout went! Just gotta keep working and realize everyday you put in the work, even when you don’t want to, is progress! Mental progress and strength is just as (maybe even more) important as physical 💪🏼

  • I had this thought run through my mind today during my oly lifting session, just completely out of the blue... "I hate my body and how it looks." I stopped myself right then and there and thought further into this statement that constantly engulfs my mind each day. I shouldn't hate my body at any moment. Just because I am not the leanest, not the most muscular or not where I want to be right at this moment, doesn't mean that I should hate my body for it. Each and everyday my body serves me. It withstands the heavy lifting, the tough skilled movements and taxing conditioning that I demand of it everyday. Why should I hate my body when I am so fortunate to have a body that performs for me and allows me to do the things I do. Why should I hate my body when it is capable of so much? I am in the midst of an Olympic lifting session, a sport that demands a mobile, strong, athletic body because of the degree of skill it takes to perform the lifts and I had these negative thoughts and it completely baffled me as to why I would be thinking this. But just because I don't walk around with a completely chiseled 6 pack, I started to hate on this body that gives back to me so much more. And just because I don't have a perfectly sculpted body, doesn't mean that I am not fit. Being in the fitness industry, 7 years, 5 of those professionally, comparing my body to others is a constant battle, but today, realizing and being grateful for my body is a step in the right direction mentally. I guess my point is to not compare yourself, be grateful for what you are capable of doing in this moment with the body that you have at this time and I think our bodies will begin to reward us more and more if we just let up on ourselves a little bit. 💜

Successfully cut to the 57kg weight class, which was one of my goals for this prep. Cutting is a double edged sword — it’s a challenge and it’s rewarding BUT it can hinder strength during a training cycle 🤷🏼‍♀️

All in all, a very successful meet and I was proud of what I accomplished. Took home 1st for my weight class and got selected for a random drug test. A true honor 😂

Went 8/9...missed my squat opener 🤦🏼‍♀️ (my bad) but it was smooth sailing after that

Deadlift: 308

  • I want to say a quick cheers to my girlfriend. Yes, I am in another relationship and this is my other half. My girl drove nearly 12 hours in a storm to meet in #Nola for a weekend. She wakes up every morning to hit her goals and moves farther year after year towards new heights. She is literally paving her own destiny. We killed it in NOLA and my feed has enough pictures of me and Christian so cheers 🥂

  • Workin the B•O•O•T•Y!! There’s a whole lotta glute squeezes in these movements. Whose excited to try them out?! 🍑 🍑 🍑 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
1️⃣ Some banded barbell squats with sit downs. You’ll burn the quads when you get up from the seat and feel it in your bum when you squeeze tight when you stand up 🙌🏻
2️⃣ Kneeling squats with a band. Squeeze ya booty right each time! 
3️⃣ okay so these aren’t working you butt. BUT hamstrings are my favvvvv, i couldn’t resist! You’ll really feel the stretch with these dead lifts on the cables, especially because it’s elevated 😏
4️⃣ Banded hip thrusts with a barbell. A staple in my booty routine 🍑
5️⃣ Time for a booty burnout!! You’ll really feel a burn with these banded crab walks with a dumbbell into some squat pulses. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
