At the time I had no idea where we were but the sun was shining, a smile was on my face, and 30 seconds later an Aperol Spritz was in my hand ☀️🇭🇷 Cheers to Northern Croatia for wildly exceeding every expectation that I had

i feel so spring today, even though it’s a bit rainy here in PA. In A few weeks i’ll be switching to fall weather in Argentina 🌸🌼➡️🍁🍂 and then when I come home it will be feeling more like summer here, so i’m trying to enjoy what’s left of my favorite season. What’s your favorite season?
It’s been six months since I left the US to travel SE Asia. It’s also been six months since I decided to abstain from alcohol. Well... 187 days but who’s counting, right?! 😂
My motivation for this decision has many reasons behind it that I’m sure I’ll end up sharing at a later date. In short, I’ve found that I like replacing the feelings I was searching for in alcohol with ones that last longer than just one night (and the hungover day that inevitably follows). Instead of falling asleep to the sunrise, I’ve discovered that I like waking up to it better. Instead of bonding over booze, I ask myself if I’d still enjoy the company of those people if I wasn’t drunk (and if yes, then I search for different ways of connecting). Instead of doing reckless shit to feel more alive... okay so maybe I still do reckless shit to feel more alive. But it’s different now. 😜
So... cheers, y’all—to this beautiful world and all the kind people in it. 👍🥳👍 PS - Surfing feels kinda like yoga, just in the water. And also moving much faster. 😂

Day 4: Weekend Vibes.
As someone who thrives indoors with a book and no sunshine, being out *~quite literally~* smelling the flowers and soaking up that sun (and wind) was much needed. #freedomfromthegram

View out the campsite gates 😍
One of the things about living abroad, and specifically living on a campsite, is that you can often feel like you’re trapped in a bubble. (Think: Simpson’s dome)
It CAN be a negative if you don’t get off site enough, but it’s actually a really great thing too! 😲🤔 If you want to find out why it’s a good thing and some of the other perks of living on a campsite then check out my new blog post!!
This week, Lee and I actually managed to get a day off together 🙌 and seeing as it was a rare sunny day, we got off site and explored the town of Sirmione! Tell me, have you ever been to Lake Garda?? Where did you go? What was your faves?? I’m working on a few Garda-inspired posts (between technical issues resulting in pulling hair out after hours of writing was deleted 😭) and I’d love to hear where you have visited or what you’d like to know!
