Was another excellent day of golf yesterday. Played 2 v 2. Best teammate score on the front 9. We were down by 3 strokes. Then best ball on the back 9 and we won by 4 strokes.🏌️♂️⛳My teammate @a_mckinneypga had a masterful par 3 birdie that he played lone wolf. Tee shot hit the front of the green about 20-30ft from the pin slightly downhill. Then he sunk in that 20-30ft putt for the birdie. It was glorious and clutch.🏌️♂️⛳ I lost $15 worth of balls. But replaced them during a rain delay with nice balls from a ball collection cart. 🤣😂 Was a good day. #golf#golfswing#competition#teamplay

When we have a tight hip flexor we tend to focus on the elongation qualities (progressive angle) of the muscle and prioritize stretching. What often gets missed is the working side (regressive angle). Because it feels “tight” we assume regressive angular work is the culprit and avoid it. If we do see hip flexion work it tends to be the classic walking warm-up drill of passively pulling the knee to your chest with your hands.
This is comparable to the “lawn mower parent” problem. A parent who mows down all the obstacles that are in front of their child are lawn mower parents and are not helping their kids they are hurting them. The difficulty of the obstacle is how the child learns and develops. With your hip flexors if you avoid hip flexion work you are essentially stealing the opportunity for your hip flexors to develop to their potential. Your hip flexors not only need range of motion but also neural drive in the amount of the demand of your endeavors.
LET HIP FLEXORS DO HIP FLEXOR SHIT! What I have experienced for myself and seen in athletes is the following: .
➖They can barely clear 90 degrees of hip flexion and complain of “tightness” .
➖After training hip flexors appropriately in the regressive angle they capture more range of
motion in hip flexion and they report less hip flexor tightness.
