  • Yesterday I graduated from medicine and I am now officially a doctor 👩🏾‍⚕️
It has been a surreal experience being on campus for the last time.
I ended up walking from one end of campus to the other and walked past my first flat as a student as a fresher.
I have grown a lot over the past 6 years. Met some friends for life, learnt an awful lot about the human body, figured out what I want to specialise in amongst many other things.
Now I have two degrees and I'm ready to join the NHS workforce!
I have received an overwhelming amount of sweet messages, especially from those who have started the journey with me before I went to medical school.
Thank you for staying with me and I hope you decide to stay for a little while longer 😉

  • Ferrari 🏎 14’s 🚗 .
This was a tough one, between having to pick up the suede and dye it where the coats are even. .
However, I’m glad to say surgery was a success! I’m in love with the way it came out. I used @angelusdirect suede dye 👨‍⚕️ .
My hands were dyed for a while.. the time I forget to wear gloves 🧤 😅

  • Soooo, I did a thing a few months ago; I graduated with my Masters from George Washington University! These past 18 months were probably some of the hardest I’ve been through and I’m so happy to be DONE😫 Thank you to my family and friends who repeatedly encouraged me to keep going when my homework was too hard or when I was falling asleep at 2 am to hand an assignment in on time. I couldn’t have done it without y’all; especially you mom! ❤️ To commemorate the momentous occasion, I had some photos taken and, I must say, my photographer DID that! I love having talented friends! Shout out to @_ratedtg for making sure every shot was perfect! You are a true artist and I’m so pleased with my photos. These aren’t even all of them 😂😂 if you’re ever in the DC area, hit up Tully for your photography needs🙃
Side note: peep @harper.takes.dc in the last 2 photos! My puppy is the cutessssst little thing - even though she wouldn’t let me put a ponytail in her hair 🤦🏾‍♀️🙄🤷🏾‍♀️

  • Yellow figure, 2017. Monotype on paper.
Since earlier this week I have been thinking about committing myself to writing one short narriative every day for a set span of time. I have not decided if I want to keep this writing project up for a month, 3 months, 6 months, a year? What do you think is an interesting length of time for a 'daily entry' kind of project?

Here is one from the vaults.
I sit alone. Holding a cup to my lips.
I blink a few times. I scratch my head and dig through my bag.
My memory is not very good anymore. I have to write it down.
I take a sip and open the book. This is promising.
A pen in one hand, I scrunch my nose and sway. I need to find the right words.
I push the stolen book onto the floor. I cover half my face with my hand.
I don’t know how much time passes.
I get up to leave and I kick the book as I pass. .

  • “As a student of Tsinghua, my success in business, especially across China, was made easy.” said Musa Frimpong (Ghana) @motivatorfm360, master’s in
International Development and Governance.

Musa was in charge of coordinating a continental youth program for the African Union, a coveted role, before he resigned and came to Tsinghua.

After some time here, he realized a question: “Why am I, the rest of Africa and the world not aware of these first class and amazing things that Tsinghua, and China at large, embodies?” This became the motivation behind the enterprise he founded in April, last year. He also came to realize the importance of branding as he grew his business in China. He looks forward to furthering his company in China, as well as other parts of the world, after graduating.

  • I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S OVER!
Dunno what I’m feeling right now (it is as mixed as all the cocktails I used to drink in my wild years), but it is really strong.
A great deal of my life (probably most of it) I spent studying. And now it seems to be over.
As a kid, I dreamt of going to school, spent my free time indulging in encyclopedias, soaking in every word, trying to memorize all of it. In fact, I might have overstudied a bit as at the age of 6 I got accepted to the second grade instead of the first.
When at the age of 12 the puberty kicked in, I couldn’t imagine a more adult thing to do than going to university. And so I went. I signed up for the free courses that gave me entrance permission to the building of the oldest and one of the most prestigious Russian universities - Moscow State University. With it, I attended not only courses for wanna-be students, but also the actual lectures and sometimes seminars, too. I still call it my first unofficial degree sometimes as I attended most classes for university students and always did the required homework and reading.
Also as a High School student, I went in the same way to one more university to study linguistics, but after two years in there I understood that I’m not destined to be a linguist.
I opted for the path of an art historian instead. So, after graduating from school, I went to get an official degree in art history. I have studied in Moscow State University, Instituto Vesuviano, Sotheby’s Institute and today I’ve graduated (and got one more degree) from the Higher School of Economics (this time in Art Market). I don’t know what will happen next but I feel like I need a break from art history degrees. At least, for a while.
I am deeply in love with the process of studying, of mastering new skills and discovering more and more about the wonderful world we are living in, about the people creating and changing it. I love art itself as throughout all those years it became an essential part of me.
I am beyond grateful to all those institutions for the amazing people I met there.
Thank you.
See you.
Loved you.
