Real Talk (because I’m craving a break in the monotonous highlight reel that is Instagram): ✧
The past few months have been tough and I feel mentally burnt out. Moving to a new state where you don’t know anyone or have a job waiting for you is hard on its own, but was a challenge I felt ready to accept. I was excited for a new experience. But after five months of being in the same place I was on Day One (no new job, no new friends, no creative outlet) I feel defeated. I had thought that being an LA native with a love for vintage glamour would be a conversation starter, that my professional experience would be impressive, yet it has only been a hindrance. Heck, I can’t even connect with the BurlyQ community here, let alone other people. It’s weird moving from a place where uniqueness and creativity make you stronger to a place where your differences make you the odd man out. Not trying to complain, because I have shared some amazing experiences here with my darling man and I am in love with the lush greenery and warm humidity (it’s honestly like being in a fluffy warm blanket that smells like a garden everywhere you go), but it has taken quite a toll on my mental health. I have been in a constant mental battle with myself, analyzing life choices, questioning my self worth. I just wish it wasn’t so hard to integrate myself with this place and the people. Have any of you experienced this while moving somewhere new? How did you handle it? ✧
Anyways, thanks for coming to my TedTalk. At the risk of sounding like Caroline Calloway without a ghostwriter, I’m going to stop my rant here. If you want to read my whole story, it will be up on my blog — link in Bio. ✧
Eotd with the Colourpop Good Sport palette. These tones just look so pretty on the eye and against my skin tone, and that Ebb shade has one dip and swipe ease of use. I was kind of shocked at how easy it was to use. 😂
This is one of our new multi-chrome cream eyeshadows that are coming next week; there are three more! This color is teal to purple with pink and orange. Leave below a good name we could use for this shade, and we will send the winner a tube of this color.
This cream shadow will be sold in our 10ml tubes and will be $25. Our cream shadows are easy to use, dry down to a smudge proof finish, and last all day long.
