Happy Earth Day everyone. I couldn't think of a better image to share on this particular day than this one from @grandcanyonnps. There are few places that make you realize how special this Earth is, the grand canyon is certainly one of them. Standing here looking over one of the most magnificent sights in the world, and I was able to enjoy it without thousands of tourists. These are those special moments I cherish. I didn't have to stand there in front of the camera to prove I was there (although admittedly I did anyways), but that was not my purpose at this location. It was to enjoy a slice of nature that few get to see. It takes quite a bit of work to get to this area and a permit is required to camp overnight as it is within the park boundaries. It's remote places like this and all the wonderful public lands we have to explore that give me a reason to get out with my camera. Its always been and always will be #naturefirst . If you care about your public lands and nature in general as a photographer, please consider becoming a member of nature first photography, www.naturefirstphotography.org. it is free to join and all that is needed is a personal commitment to adhere to the 7 principles on ethical and responsible outdoor recreation. #OurWild#prAna#coalatree#greettheoutdoors#earthday

Insta-friends, ASSEMBLE! One of my best buds on here just got hacked and his 16k-follower account was deleted! Does anyone have contacts within FB or IG that might be able to help him out? If anyone has a moment, please go follow @brianjohnsadventure2 for all sorts of great wildlife and nature shots from Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and beyond!

Can confirm, the superbloom was indeed super this year! 🤩 🌼💐🌸 If you go, *please* be respectful of the flowers and stay on the trails. This area, and most of the desert areas where these flowers bloom, are extremely sensitive and erode easily. I took this from the road. #leavenotrace#superbloom
Eating soup made from wild foods is somehow more satisfying, especially if it packs you full of iron, vitamins, calcium, potassium, amino acids and polyphenols! These nettles were beside the 19th century limekiln remnants in Fladdabister so have grown from some historic land too! Completely free of cost, plastic packaging and environmental impact. 🌿💚
Lo and behold, our very own Cave of Wonders! 💎 But who needs a genie when you can leave it up to Mother Nature’s intricate handiwork to make magic happen?! @jenolancaves is one of her best masterpieces, found in the Greater #BlueMountains region. Only nine of the 300 caves are open to the public, and it’s best explored on a guided tour. And for those who are brave enough to venture the caves after dark, the Blue Mountains Mystery Tours will get your spook on! #NewSouthWales#jenolancaves

Oliver insisted on trying a 🥥 you know, how everyone makes them look so good.. so we got him that coconut knowing he doesn’t really care for the taste but he wanted to drink it. So I hammered a hole and sure enough, everything I kept telling him was confined. He wasn’t a fan, but I guess the lesson here is to always learn on your own terms & don’t take someone else’s word for it.
Also that glass straw from @beautyheroes coming in handy. Finding better alternatives to plastic is next on our wellness list.

Beautiful day opening weekend on the North Cascades Highway
This is the kind of view one sees on the drive from Lynden and Bellingham. Lush green fields of blueberries and raspberries against beautiful mountain backdrops. Even though I’m not much of a morning person, there’s just something about watching the sunrise illuminate the countryside- a very satisfying way to start the day.
Who knows what a big horn sheep sees in several years of wandering through the crags and meadows of Montana. I’d imagine this ram has seen more of the vast wilderness here than some people will see their entire lifetime; we should all be so lucky.

I want you to take a moment and think about how long a year is... now two... double that... double it again... now divide by two and that is how long I have had the honor of loving this woman. Thank you Rachel for bringing so much beauty to my life. You are truly one of a kind. I love you❤️ 4 down, forever to go ♾

Enjoying the last few weeks of spring before California goes brown again
Two of the coolest belay stations from this weekend: 1) anchored to The Chief with a stunning view of Mount Garibaldi, 2) anchored to a rock face with a ledge just wide enough for my feet and a beautiful view of Howe Sound and various peaks. You’re not allowed to be squeamish in Squamish!
