  • I’ve revised protein metabolism all day and now my brain is fried 🤓 - fun fact 🤗 the average protein intake of individuals in the U.K. is actually higher than the reference nutrient intakes 🤓 Also, completely stuffing your face with protein in excess amounts doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to speed up muscle growth... yes being in a calorie surplus and thus positive nitrogen balance ((excess proteins available in body)) will supplement protein synthesis I.e. muscle growth BUT only to an extent! We can only synthesise a certain amount of protein down to protein turnover ☺️ Simply put - yes eating ENOUGH and the RIGHT amount of protein FOR YOUR BODY NEEDS helps with muscle growth, but eating ridiculous amounts is not really something to worry about 🙆🏻‍♀️ that’s all, happy Sunday x

5kg weight loss since we started. To some this might not seem so impressive because of all the BULLS**T we are exposed to on social media, with these fade diets, skinny coffees, diet pills and reality tv transformations etc..

But this is an example of a real person, with a normal life, with a full time job, who had no experience in the gym or with nutrition actually making a realistic change to her lifestyle and reaping the rewards!👍🏼

HOW?
•Decreasing calorie intake (creating a calorie deficit)
•increasing her NEAT (non exercise activity thermogenesis)- walking to and from work each day.
•1-2 exercise sessions per week.
•Consistency •Sustainability
.
As well as the weight loss, Kathryn is so much fitter, stronger, moves better and confidence has improved no end!😊

So stop comparing yourself and your progress to anyone else, simple focus on your journey!👊🏼
