Does it feel like a Friday to anyone else? I can’t believe it’s only Wednesday! I’m exhausted 😅 the best thing I can do is give my body real, good quality, and properly prepared food 👌🏻 a lot of my meals aren’t anything special, but making it at home ensures it’s cooked with the right oils, is free of added hormones, pesticides, etc., there’s no cross contamination, and I can be certain with what I’m putting into my body 🙌🏻 I always try to aim for a lot of color too 😋 different colors mean different benefits 😉 it really doesn’t have to be complicated, expensive, super gourmet, or anything crazy to be healthy, delicious, and satisfying 💕 just start by cooking one meal at home a day if you frequently eat out, and build from there. Don’t force yourself to build a whole new lifestyle over night - just focus on 24 hours at a time🤗
This is a quick & easy breakfast hash my mom always makes and it’s delicious 🤤 start by placing a frying pan on low-medium heat on the stove with 1-2T of avocado oil (or preferred cooking oil). Then peel & thinly slice a sweet potato and throw it into the pan to begin browning. Next thinly slice up some onion, garlic, and bell pepper and toss them in, in this order! Season with sea salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix everything together well & cook until the potatoes are soft 🤗 the rest is simple: two pasture raised cage free eggs 🍳 from @costco seasoned with @traderjoes everything but the bagel sesame seasoning blend, and organic blueberries & Persian cucumber also from @traderjoes 🥒

There's no doubt that twenty-first century living is filled with stress. Our jobs are demanding, our roads are crowded, and even the way we eat is fast paced.
🌱Stress comes in different forms, but the overall effect on our lives can be damaging. There are so many physical and emotional symptoms associated with stress that it has been called the silent killer.
🌱chronic stress increases the risk for diabetes, especially in overweight individuals, since psychological stress alters insulin needs. Stress also alters the acid concentration in the stomach, which can lead to ulcers. Chronic stress can also lead to plaque buildup in the arteries (atherosclerosis), especially if combined with a high-fat diet and sedentary living. And the list goes on.
🌱Although often ignored, this is always a good place to start when you feel unwell because we live in such a stressful society. Often I see clients remove triggers without considering stress management techniques, which can be counterproductive to overall healing.
🌱The earlier chronic stress can be addressed, the more effective the healing process will be.

Hummingbird cake 🍰🐦 A banana based cake with pineapple, raisins and pecans. For a banana based cake it was quite fluffy and not at all greasy. The cream cheese frosting was very light and just cheesy and tarte enough without being overpowering or overwhelmingly sweet.
My Earl grey tea went well; I suspect the bergamot complimented the fruityness of the cake.
Apparently it was gluten free, but I didn't try it for that reason. It was so pretty, and the name was so cute. The gentleman behind the counter at this very cute cafe assured me it was delicious and not too sweet. He was correct!
They also have very interesting lattes here, such as a charcoal latte and beetroot latte, and make their own syrups: cardamom, lavender and orange. I'll be returning for sure!
This workout was also a massive comeback for me. WOW felt like myself again in the gym. I’ve been been having many up and downs recently, it’s been hard for me to feel like myself in the gym but this workout was EVERYTHING for me😭💪🏽

Loved spending some time with these pretty ladies yesterday! I’ve never been one to have a ton of girlfriends. I’ve always been somewhat introverted and okay with staying home doing nothing.
I’m so grateful to have found this community of ladies with similar values and goals in life! It’s so nice to just hangout, chat and be in each others presence rather than just seeing each other thru social media!
But I am also so thankful to social media for bringing them into my life in the first place and I so look forward to many girls nights in the future! 🍷☀️

So try not to compare yourself to anyone by what they have or how their life looks like on the outside. If you really, deeply love yourself, you won’t feel the need to compare yourself to anyone. 🌸

I wasted so many years snacking on plain raw coconut flakes. Who knew that simple toasted coconut was 10x better?? I baked these organic @traderjoes coconut chips for 10 minutes @ 350° and sprinkled them with lots of pink salt. They were incredibly easy to make, just be sure to keep an eye on the time as they burn easily (learned this one the hard way). These are the perfect snack as is, or the ideal topping for cauliflower oats 🥥
🥗 This is meal 2 and hopefully last one today. Huge salad with spinach, avocado, carrots, a bit of feta, and spicy tuna(made with jalapeños, onions, mayo, and onion powder). Tim mentions balasamic vinegar on salads is ok. Even though this one isn’t your basic balsamic, I’m rolling with it. I found it at Home Goods. It sounded interesting and it is very delicious, plus a little goes a long way.
“IT” doesn’t work unless you do. That “IT” could be supplemental weight control supplements, a certain diet, and yes, even our Serotonin-Plus Program. Long-term weight control requires work on your part, and lots of it. I wish there exists some passive, “no work” pill, program or dietary approach, but alas, even weight loss surgery, which require little “work” on the patients’ parts, has very high recidivism rates.
I ♥️ Bob’s story because he knew that despite being an active athlete he simply cannot outrun his fork! It is so common for people to resist the one thing that they need most so I am very glad that Bob got off the fence and decided to make consistent changes in his health to have a radical impact!

⬇️ What's in my gym bag ⬇️ I was spoiled when I first started working out because my gym was in my apartment building and forgetting something was only a 2 minute journey upstairs. Since our move I've been going to the gym before work which meant I had to get my shit together and actually plan ahead. These are 5 things I dont leave the house without 🙌🏼 🔹️ Pre-Workout: I've used a couple different types in the past but this is what I'm currently loving. It gets my body jump squatting and lunging in no time flat and makes my morning sleepiness disappear 🙌🏼
🔹️ Workout bands: I love having these in my bag as it adds an element to leg day that my gym otherwise cant provide. I leave them in there so any time I want to switch it up I can 💪
🔹️ Body Glide: I LOVE THIS STUFF SO MUCH THERE ARE NO WORDS. No chafe, period. A life saver in and outside of the gym, no weird residue and never wears off. I literally have it in every one of my bags, not only my gym bag. 🔹️ Dry Shampoo: I have super dry skin, including my scalp which means and everyday wash irritates the ish out of it. Dry shampoo is my saviour on in betweeny days. Love the smell of this one 🥥
🔹️ Because who actually likes to step in other people's cold shower water 🤮 Did it for one day before I swiftly bought these bad boys. Makes mornings that much more chilled 😋

This chart has been a huge contributing factor to both my weight loss and gain. It’s ever-presence in doctors offices making me lose a bit of myself each time. This chart, which tells me that my five foot, one inch stature is at high risk for medical conditions and overweight if I am above the weight 132. This chart has taken up such a huge part of my brain, constantly making me worry about my health, because it has been drilled into me by the amount of times it has been strategically place in face view of a patient when sat on a “bed” at the doctors’. I lost weight with the 132 marker in my head and two years ago, around this time of year, it was what sent me on my downward spiral. I was obsessed with that number and this chart. This chart has pressured me more than societal views when concerning my body. At 161 lbs, I was still having doctors tell me that I need to lose weight- as if my 130 pound weight loss meant nothing. Today I am choosing to break up with this chart. I am choosing to let myself decide where I am happy in my body on this LONG journey of health and wellness. Today, I set this piece of paper with ink and color away from my mind. 12 minute at home core circuit on this lovely Thursday!
Since it’s starting to get nice out, I decided to incorporate more at home workouts into my routine so I can get my workout in and enjoy the weather 🌞. I’ll do 3 days at the gym lifting and 2-3 days doing circuits like these, going hiking, walking or going for a run. I highly recommend adding outdoor workouts into your routine if you can!
The key to getting the most out of simple exercises like this is to do them slowly, consciously and controlled. Try doing 10 reps of one of these exercises quickly, then try doing the same one slowly and controlled and let me know if you feel the burn 🔥.
When doing these specific core workouts, make sure you keep your forehead to the ceiling throughout the whole exercise, don’t tuck your chin! This makes the workout a little more intense and also helps avoid any straining in your neck and back.
1. Genie abs
2. Heel touches
3. Flutter kicks
4. Laying toe touches
5. Mountain climbers
Do each exercise for 30 seconds 4x, with a 30 second rest between each set.

Day 4 - let’s talk about squats baby... 🍑👌🏼
Why you should be doing squats of any type and they don’t have to be using a barbell.. they can be bodyweight, using dumbbells, kettlebells or any kind of weight. ⠀⠀
This is a compound movement that uses several muscle groups to improve strength, mobility, balance, stability and of course if you want to get a booty! 🙈🍑
It will help build strong hips, glutes, quads and abs if you get it right. ⠀⠀
Keep feet planted on the floor, push back on hips, keep knees tracking toes and chest lifted. Keep a neutral spine. ⠀⠀
If you are unsure how to do these correctly, start with bodyweight and add in weight slowly. Ask for help and get someone to watch and give you tips. ⠀⠀
These can be done at home or in the gym as can most of the exercises I have been talking about this week! ⠀⠀

My bloody truth about food!
0-10 years was born with a collie my mother gave me the sugar water pour the time as an infant to silence me. think this is based on my need in sugar eating at deep anxiety when my mother has not understood the connection theory. except very fussy so ate everything i came to where i was. 11-16 ate almost nothing 1 to 2 sandwich a day. did 200 situpps every night before I would sleep
Anorexia was a fact. 17-19 years I started to console and gained weight fast. 20-23 over ate, I lied if I had eaten to be able to eat more. could push me frozen food if they didn't go fast enough. 24-31 commuted between eating too much but also excluded a lot in the diet circle to get quick results in weight loss. which instead creates a hot and constant hunger I have understood. Even when i was 25 yers I would trow up my food by healp whit my fingers. So my goal now is to eat 6 times a day after a food plate model, and move me. This will be a challenge.

I love working out (I have competed in powerlifting a few times and plan to compete in bikini within the next year), cooking healthy meals, taking care of my beautiful family, education (science and geography), clean & green living, manifestation/quantum physics, meditation, and OILS (Young Living- of course)! I grew up (mostly) in Nanaimo, BC in an area called Harewood (or, Hare’hood’ to anyone who knows it). I really struggled to find my place in my younger years. We moved around a lot while my brother and I were growing up, so we often had a difficult time transitioning and finding new friends. When I was 15 I discovered fitness, became vegan, and transitioned into a holistic lifestyle! I had been overweight (and unhealthy) almost my whole life, and this new lifestyle I was just learning had finally brought me to a point where I felt great and had CONFIDENCE!!! I spent my first adult years travelling/backpacking, training, and taking classes at two different universities. I studied sciences for 8.5 years (wow)! I’ll leave out the other peaks and valleys for now, but my point is that all of it has led me to a place in my life where my passions are able to be integrated into my everyday. My family, my hobbies, and my source of income all merge and overlap beautifully. I am blessed beyond measure.
