I have to say, this is the BEST cookbook I have ever used (and if you know me—you know I have A LOT of cookbooks.) I’ve made two weeks worth of the meals and I’m obsessed with the style of cooking. You cook 2-3 main ingredients on your prep day (which is usually Sunday for me), then you use those ingredients to make 3 COMPLETELY DIFFERENT meals throughout the week. It’s seriously genius. And the meals are SO GOOD. I’m still daydreaming over the Chicken Fried Rice I made last week.

If you like to meal prep, but always end up eating the same thing for days, this book is a GAME CHANGER!

  • So truth telling time here. You may have noticed I didn’t post workout pictures every day. Well I can’t post what I don’t do. So I went back and figured out the workouts I didn’t do and I’m doing them this week. Plus I am super nervous about the extreme workout program so I want to make sure I am extra prepared. That’s the beauty of at home workouts accessed through the inter webs is that I can accessed older programs. So day was Day #12 which was lower fix. I am proud to share I bumped up my weights for most of the workout to 15lb from 12 lbs. I think I did day 11 which was yoga but I didn’t post it as I plan to do it tomorrow. I wanted to utilize the energy I was feeling today!  #joinme #healthybody #healthymind #bettertogether #militarydiscount #teamfittribe #phelanphamilyphun

  • When you want to make an exercise harder but don’t actually want to add more weight! 
Yes progressive overload is the key to most exercises, to improving and building muscle. But a few aren’t always the best when we keep increasing the load. Sometimes when the load increases we can start recruiting other muscles we are not intending to work.
. 
I had a play with my resistance band on hamstring hyperextensions today, amazing! I could feel the 🔥 straight away! Going to add a single weight plate which I normally hold back into it next time to step it up a gear! 
Keep the movement nice and slow using your hams and glutes to pull you up, and always remember to shake the ponytail out of the way first! 😁💁🏽‍♀️

Fatty liver is a dangerous yet misunderstood disease. In America, it affects 90 million of us and 17 percent of our children.⠀

A recent study from Bristol University tested more than 4,000 young people and discovered that over 20% had fatty deposits on the liver. Half of those were considered severe. ⠀

You might be surprised to learn the primary culprit here. Research shows that carbs (and not fat) produce more fat in your belly and liver.⠀
⠀
Sugar switches on fat production in your liver, creating an internal process called lipogenesis, which is your body’s normal response to sugar.⠀
⠀
Fructose, the most detrimental sugar that heads directly to your liver, actually ramps up lipogenesis. That explains why sugar, especially fructose, becomes the chief cause of liver disease and the leading cause of liver transplants. ⠀

Unlike carbohydrates and protein, dietary fat does not trigger your pancreas to secrete insulin or stress out your liver. Your body prefers to burn rather than store dietary fat, unless you combine it with carbs. ⠀

  • I’ve missed you boo. Last night I got back in the kitchen after a little hiatus.  I forgot how much I LOVE PLAYING in there! How much I LOVE thinking creatively, resourcefully, healthfully! I forgot how much I LURRRRVVVVV and i mean i LURRRVVVVV the challenge of taking a traditional recipe and making it more #leanandgreen . I forgot how GOOOODDDDDD my body and brain feel when I feed it this way!!! And it took like 15 minutes total!!! WHAT THE ACTUAL?! . .
I added extra protein and skipped unnecessary carbs by using @cbsupplements Collagen as a coating for my broccoli and a thickener for my Sauce! .
With a few modifications here are the sats on my version (which was stupid yummy) and PF Chang’s. 🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦
