  • A little inside information about What this Saturday’s party is about! 
So a couple months ago I decided I needed to get ME back. I decided to cut out meat. And start being active again. But I would allow myself seafood in small doses (I live in Florida.... it’s fresh) 
I’m not all the way vegan but I eat mostly a plant based diet and I’ve lost 30 pounds. In 2 months and a few weeks. I’m still going! 
I’ve been drinking these shakes for breakfast in the morning (because apparently you have to eat to loose weight 😳) and the list below tells you everything about this company and what they are about. 
PLANT BASED DIET ALL THE WAY is what I’m working on. The first step is to change your way of thinking. 
I think back when I was a ballet dancer and I remember I barely ate meat and I never felt better! Today I can look myself in the mirror and say I feel like I can walk 5000 miles (da da da) and I’m only getting healthier! 
It’s hard! I get it! I’m a mother with 2 kids and I let myself go because I couldn’t find time for me but you can make time! It’s possible! I’m lucky that I own my own business and can go around my schedule but the first step is again, CHANGING YOUR WAY OF THINKING!

I sometimes feel like a hypocrite because I suggest that people should eat more veggies but I struggle with them so much. I can make a plate of chopped vegetables and stare at them in protest not eating them. I’m basically a child. 🥕
In an effort to be better, I have been challenging myself to put in a bit more effort to get a few more veggies in. So shocker, I turned to salads. 🥕
Here’s this weeks go-to:
✨ chopped kale
✨ avocado
✨ tomatoes ✨ caesar dressing
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The best part about kale (because what isn’t amazing about it) is that I can mix in the dressing at the start of the week and it doesn’t get all soggy and gross like other leafy greens. oh and all those vitamins and micronutrients are pretty good too. .

  • It's almost May... which means I'm a crazy mom with baseball, end of year, school projects, etc.  So, I'm all about time saving recipes this time of year.  I love these 3 ingredient pancakes when we're on the run!  Super easy to make, using 3 ingredients that we almost always have on hand.⁣⠀
⁣⠀
~1 ripe banana⁣⠀
~1 egg⁣⠀
~1/4 C Gluten Free Oat Flour - I like @anthonysgoods⁣⠀
⁣⠀
Mash the banana, then add the other two ingredients and mix!  That's it! Cook on the stovetop using coconut oil. Top with real maple syrup and a few banana slices, and enjoy!⁣⠀

FISH & CHIPS - DINING OUT VS HOMEMADE ⠀
I’m a huge fan of Friday night fish and chips and I wanted to demonstrate how some simple swaps can transform this favourite into a weeknight meal.
⠀
LEFT (Pub style/take-away option)
2 medium fillets (white fish, coated & deep fried) 
200 Regular chips (probably more since a large KFC fries is 243g, I’ve been kind here) 
Target sauce ~ 2 tablespoons
I didn’t count the salad or dressing (could have counted the dressing)

RIGHT 
200g lightly coated pan fried blue spot emperor (white fish) 
40g store bought birds eye oven baked chips (Deli seasoned chips) 
2 tablespoon home made tarter sauce (let me know if you want the recipe)
I counted the salad with salad dressing (white wine vinegar and lemon juice) for this example

The option on the left to me is a supersized portion, HOWEVER it is a normal portion at most restaurants/pubs/bars/takeaway joints.

The option on the right is a homemade version. It follows a more balanced approach. Not everything on the plate is home made and that’s ok 👌🏼

You don’t have to eat perfectly all the time BUT I believe it is important to understand how you can make better choices/options at home.

My belief around food is - SURE eat whatever you like, BUT you can still be informed around the choices you make for YOUR lifestyle.

Can you make the the dining out option better? Of course you can, reduce the portion of chips and opt for grilled/pan fried.

  • Don’t judge a smoothie by its colour!
You wouldn’t be the first to look at this green smoothie and say “no way!” Green! Vegetable! Yuck!  God Forbid! But please don’t walk away! 
Don’t let the bright green color deter you, green smoothie can actually taste wonderful and you won’t even mind the taste of the leafy vegetables. And when it comes to easy clean up/detox, a green smoothie cleanse should be your best friend!
So since we are in the clean-up mood, let me share with you a green smoothie receipe I absolutely love! This beginner friendly green smoothie recipe is full of iron, potassium and vitamins galore— AND tastes like a tropical treat. 
INGREDIENTS
1 cup baby spinach/ugu or kale (for the extra protein punch)
1 cup water or coconut water (preferably, for the tropical treat taste)
½ cup apple
½ cup cucumber
½ cup of mango 
You don’t need any special instrument for this…..your regular kitchen blender works just fine.
Please use standard measuring cups …….moderation is key!
INSTRUCTIONS
Tightly pack spinach in a measuring cup.
Add spinach to blender with water/coconut water. Blend together until all chunks are gone
Add mango, cucumber and apple to blender. I like to use freeze the mango a bit to chill the smoothie down.
Blend all together until smooth. Depending on your blender, this could take as little as 30 seconds or as long as 2 minutes.
Pour into a glass and serve immediately.

  • 🌻Good Morning Lovelies!🌻
Here is a protein shake ive been trying out, It super tasty! At first i didnt know how id feel about it bc its vanilla chia and i usually go down to the basic just because protein shakes and i dont agree sometimes but this is super tasty super sweet! i add blueberries and bananas ( honestly i probably shouldnt add the banana since its already sweet but ya know who cares lol) but i recommend they have two other flavors chocolate coconut and salty caramel(something like that) and i cant wait to try out *Ive been pretty bad with what im eating, so far im only really eating like two full meals when i should definitely be eating more but im still trying to find easy small snacks to make and trying to find nutritious meals to make and seeing what i can use* 
if anyone has any yummy recipes they recommend Dm mee :) .

  • So...... we all know it’s true 😂😂 Comment below your favourite snack! It could be something that’s hurting your fat loss goals. 
One of the biggest ones I hear.... I was good last night, I had a couple handfuls of walnuts. 
My response: amazing, all around great snack, BUT how much? The nuts add up 😂. Don’t be surprised if you are having 3-5 portion sizes for 500-700 calories! Be careful.

  • Went to make some sweet potato egg nests this morning and then discovered I only had 3 eggs... so I had to improvise. Here’s a variety sweet potato hash brown plate. One with @miyokoscreamery vegan cream cheese, one with @traderjoes vegan pesto, one with @heb almond butter and blueberries and one with @heb Pretty Thai Muay Thai sauce. Happy Wednesday!
