To be honest, I’ve been sitting on these videos for a veryyyy long time. The first one was recorded over six months ago (which is why you’ll see that I’m much more tanned than I am now 😂). I sat on these videos out of fear- fear of the unknown, fear of failure and fear of judgement. But these are feelings that I felt before starting my Instagram page and blog, too, and now I couldn’t imagine never having taken the leap.   • When I was in middle school, my mom and I got Sal’s pizza every. single. Monday. And now I have come to associate Monday’s with pizza (like that’s a bad thing?!) and today is no exception. Instead of Sal’s though, I made a homemade pizza with @traderjoes broccoli kale crust, which cooked way better than my last attempt at making cauliflower crust. Combined it with some homemade pesto (just put 2 cups basil, 1/2 cup walnuts, 1/2 cup avocado oil, 1/4 cup nutritional yeast and 2 tbsp garlic powder in a food processor) and this combo was 🔥 Happy Monday! ✨

Crust
1/2cup tapioca flour

En el mundo de hoy, todos deberíamos tomar un suplemento de vitamina C o Ácido Ascórbico. Como hemos aprendido, la vitamina C es la “primera aduana” contra los radicales libres. Y al daño que hacen éstos hay que agregarle la contaminación del agua, el aire y la comida, además de la contaminación electromagnética cada día mayor y los niveles de estrés a los que nos estamos enfrentando. La gran discusión se da en torno a cuál es la dosis adecuada. Para los más académicos, como por ejemplo la Clínica Mayo, no debe exceder de 90 mg/día en hombres adultos y en mujeres adultas no más de 75 mg/día.  Aquí es donde podemos ver la genialidad de Linus Pauling. Pauling, premio Nobel de química, dedicó la última etapa de su vida a estudiar la Vitamina C y fue uno de los grandes impulsores de la naciente disciplina de la nutrición ortomolecular, que básicamente predica que muchas enfermedades se pueden curar dando la molécula de minerales o vitaminas, PERO A LA DOSIS CORRECTA. Para los niveles de agresión a los que se enfrentan las células hoy en día nos remitimos al maestro Pauling. Para adultos, 10 gramos (10.000 miligramos) diarios divididos en dos dosis; y la mejor forma de hacerlo es Ácido Ascórbico en polvo diluido en un vaso de agua. Es bueno agregarle una pizca de bicarbonato de sodio para neutralizar la acidez. 
La vitamina C es muy segura, a diferencia de otras vitaminas como la A y la D. Nos damos cuenta que la dosis por vía oral es excesiva cuando la consumimos y nos da diarrea ya que la vitamina C tiene un efecto laxante pero solo por vía oral y a dosis altas. 
Puede ser consumida por embarazadas y por mujeres lactantes y por supuesto por los niños.

This is not the first time I’ve discussed the importance of warming up properly and it certainly won’t be the last. Waking up the entire body is my primary goal when warming up, irregardless of the primary focus for any particular session. 
1️⃣Jefferson Curl-In contrast to many posterior movements, the Jefferson Curl adds an element of full spinal flexion, especially throughout the thoracic region. Along with providing a proper stretch, hinging is a key part of this movement which will effectively prepare the hips for whatever is to come that day. 
2️⃣Single Arm Plank on Parallette-Nothing fancy here. Only having one arm for the plank creates a unilateral instability pattern. Warming up one side of the body at a time is an essential part to not only warm ups, but for the rest of training itself. For additional difficulty, remove the elevated surface of the parallette. 
3️⃣Scapular Pull Ups-Although this movement has a very short range of motion, the benefits of activating the scapular region are tremendous. Any overhead position, clean or isometric for the upper body requires proper scapula stability and motion. This area is easily ignored but should be given just as much attention as anything else during warm ups.
