  • IN & OUT DAY! . .
I carried these sweet babies for 30 weeks and 4 days on the inside and here they are at 30 weeks and 4 days on the outside! Full hands, full heart is an understatement! They have surpassed every hope and dream I had envisioned during my pregnancy and even though time is passing quickly I know the best is yet to be. Behind these babies are new marks, rolls, and skin you can’t see but they also came with new strengths I didn’t have before either. We have been so BLESSED and I won’t ever let myself take this life for granted. 💛

  • Bumpdate!⠀
⠀
I don’t know why the color to my feet and leg ratio is so disgustingly off but please excuse that and the lack of pedicure situation I have going on. I’m long overdue for one and am treating myself next week 🤞🏼⠀
⠀
This third trimester has brought a lot of growth. I never would’ve thought I’d begin to fall in love with this bump of mine. That my double chin, jiggly arms, cellulite loaded legs is the new me and I’ve been doing my best to rock the sh!t out of it. That peeing my pants, leaky boobs, insane calf cramps, and everything else in between no longer compares to how much I love this little lady already. What a sacrifice but incredible blessing it is to grow a little human 🤍⠀
⠀
But on a much less serious note- the cravings just keep on coming...⠀
⠀
Mama loves all the cheese in the world, potatoes (still going strong on any form of potatoes since the first trimester), Caesar salads, oranges, bacon gouda sandwiches from Starbucks, soufflés from Panera, and sweet tea have been my jam! ⠀
⠀
Let’s just hope we can cut out like 90% of this pregnancy diet after she arrives 😂 .

  • I love sharing what my daughter eats mostly because it’s much prettier and cuter than what I eat, but I have had some requests for what a day of eating looks like for me now that I’m pregnant!🌝I also do love promoting good health and vibrancy! 🌈🌟 .
.
This morning I had a celery juice, a half a cantaloupe, and a peach, for lunch I had a salad with avocado, tomato, carrot and chipotle tahini dressing, for a snack I had two bananas, then I had another snack of avocado toast on sprouted flax bread before dinner. Dinner is potato nachos with cashew cheese sauce and lots of veggies (I shared this meal in my previous post!) 🌿🌈💫 #plantpowered .
I’m 31 weeks pregnant tomorrow! I’m trying my best to savor these days of feeling bigger and not fitting in my clothes. 🙃 This is likely the last time I’ll be pregnant and I’m enjoying every minute of it! 💓 #veganpregnancy #healthypregnancy #pregnant #growingahuman #eatrealfood

  • I can’t help but feel so incredibly blessed to be loved by this man. ☺️ Since we found out we are have a baby, Austin has loved me deeper and shown me that daily. Even as my body changes (& grows😅) he tells me I’m beautiful and how much he loves my body at every phase. I can’t emphasize how huge this has been for me as I struggle almost daily with adjusting to the new body I’m in. 🙏🏼 Thank you for being my best friend. My lover. My baby daddy. 🥰 I love you so incredibly much & I cannot wait to watch you love our little girl 💗

The picture on the left is from February 2017. I was a few months in to my first post partum weight loss journey in hopes that I could at least get back down to my pre pregnancy weight of 250 so we could try for another. I managed to reach 260 (this photo here) and about a month later found out we were expecting (Jiji🤰🏽). At this point I had been exercising regularly for a few months, and eating fairly well MOST of the time. The SECOND I found out I was pregnant I completely stopped it all. No more workouts, and a lot more junk food. I was in the mindset of “well I’m going to get fat anyway 🤷🏽‍♀️”. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣
Looking back I’m sad that is how my mind worked at the time. Sad knowing I could have probably prevented or at least lessened the debilitating sciatica I experienced that pregnancy, and sad I didn’t treat my body better. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
On the right, today, almost 10 weeks pregnant and I’m so happy to be where I am today. Sure my body has changed but my mind is SO strong, SO different. My workouts overall haven’t changed much. Some weeks I workout 4-5 times instead of 6 if I’m feeling a bit tired, and I no longer go for max weight on my reps when lifting .. but other than that I’m here. I’m here lifting, running, stepping, pushing, pulling 💪🏾 and fuelling my body properly along the way. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
I’m not beating myself up for my previous pregnancies, or my unhealthy habits.. because they’re in the past and my body successfully delivered 2 beautiful baby girls and for that I am so grateful. But now I know better .. and when we know better, we do better 💜⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Have a great weekend ! ✨

  • -28 weeks 🥳🤰🏼🥰- 🍆 Baby Smith now weighs about 2¼ pounds and is almost 15 inches long, about the size of a head of large eggplant. 🌎 Our little one is working hard this week on skills necessary for life out in the real world! He/she is working on blinking, coughing, more intense sucking, hiccupping, & breathing. 👅 It’s common for fetuses to stick their tongue out often in the 3rd trimester; we don’t know why, but it’s possible they are tasting the amniotic fluid! 🤣 silly baby! 👶🏼 A protective covering of myelin begins to form around our little nuggets’ nerves during this trimester, a process that will continue for a year after he/she is born. 😴 Baby Smith may even be dreaming in utero now! Brain wave activity measured in a developing fetus shows different sleep cycles, including the rapid eye movement phase, which is the stage of sleep we’re in when dreaming. 🧠 Our little one’s brain is adding billions of new nerve cells. His/her senses of hearing, smell, and touch are developed and functional. During the third trimester, the brain triples in weight, and the cerebrum develops deep, convoluted grooves that provide extra surface area without taking up more room in the skull. 👶🏼 Baby Smith is “fattening up” now-gaining about 1/2 pound a week! His/her wrinkles are disappearing which allows him/her to regulate their own body temperature-which is a big step towards thriving outside the womb. 🤰🏼I’m still doing great-especially considering I’m definitely in the 3rd trimester now! Baby Smith is still moving & grooving a lot in there & that’s still my favorite part of pregnancy 🥰 I’ll be soaking up all the kicks/movements while patiently waiting for Baby Smith to arrive!

But all better thanks to my chiropractor Megan!

Always remembering to break up the activities with rest!!!!

  • No, normal pregnant women don’t "have" to keep their heart rate below 140 beats per minute during exercise. .

There's really no data to back up this long-standing myth, which likely had its origins in a time when doctors and scientists—knowing very little about pregnancy exercise—erred on the side of caution when it came to physical activity recommendations for pregnant women.

These days we DO know more about pregnancy exercise, and based on decades of research the ACOG explicitly advises expecting women to perform at least 20 to 30 minutes of moderately intense exercise every day. Because the benefits for mom and baby FAR outweigh the risks in normal pregnancies. ACOG also says that women who are already fit and used to vigorous exercise are free to continue exercising this hard, up to an hour per day—which totally aligns with our MYB exercise programs, btw!

Now, if one is a staying below 140 BPMs naturally in your moderately intense exercise… that's totally ok. But to arbitrarily keep women out of the 140+ heart rate zone is unnecessary and scientifically unfounded. If anything, we think it's detrimental because it may deter some women from working out hard enough or at all, out of fear of getting their heart rate up too much.

It's also quite possible that short bouts of vigorously intense exercise is safe and beneficial for most pregnant women regardless of their prior fitness level.  We just don't have enough data (yet) to make this kind of general recommendation, so in the meantime we here at MYB will stick to ACOG's recommendations.

Re: The ACOG, expecting women with normal low-risk pregnancies, regardless of their fitness level, should workout almost every day, at least at a moderately intense level. This includes aerobic exercise and strength training. If an OB/GYN advises otherwise, it's either because exercise is contraindicated for that individual woman OR because the OB isn't aware of the updated ACOG protocols, which we have seen in research to be over 50% of them. Let’s get everyone educated 👊🏻 #moveyourbump.

  • 🍸Mommy Mocktail 🍸Enjoy the start of the weekend with the Salted GingerLime Ale!
Here’s what you need: * 1 Medjool date, pitted
* 1 pinch Fine sea salt
* 	1 pinch ground cumin
* 	1 oz Lime juice🍐
* 6 oz High quality ginger beer

Have no fear Momma the ginger beer is perfectly OK to enjoy while you’re pregnant as long as it’s a non-alcoholic brand! Sit back , put your feet up or gather with friends and enjoy your Friday night!
The how to: * Put the date, salt, cumin and lime juice into a drink mixer and let its soak for any 3- 5 minutes, then it’s time to get a little frustration out and muddle that date to pieces 💪 * Add ice and shake it like a polaroid picture 📸
* Strain everything into a tall glass full of ice and top off with Ginger Beer and stir ! 🤰

Baby girl is the size of a PINEAPPLE 🍍!
⠀
I can’t believe we are at this point of pregnancy. I was reading one of my pregnancy apps the other day and immediately got hit in the face with reality... she’s going to be here SO soon!
⠀
We have a lot to get done before she arrives though, so we’re finally getting ourselves in check and preparing her room! I know, late, BUT there’s not TOO much for us to do... a lot of it is pretty much ready from my son 🤍. We’re mostly needing to get HIS room ready so he can have a big(ger) boy room.
⠀
We were gifted a @deltachildren crib, which I’m SO excited to share with you guys as soon as we get it in the nursery 🤍🥰.
⠀
I’ve been getting much more emotional thinking of her grand entrance. I’m super nervous for her arrival and feel super unprepared. I’m very uncomfortable and have been getting Braxton Hicks almost every single night - they’re actually kinda painful. I don’t remember getting them much during my first. Acid reflux is getting worst as she starts getting crammed in there. Just overall more discomfort & trouble sleeping.
⠀
Can’t believe this is the last week of 20’s!
Ps. Here I go again in this shirt. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t strongly debate changing so it looked like I don’t wear this shirt so much 🤣.

  • A great way to ensure you’re eating healthy is by cooking your own meals! Meal prepping can be a perfect solution for a pregnant mom with a busy life. When you plan ahead to have healthy options on hand - you won't have a reason to stop by that fast food joint on the way home.

  • When you feel no one cares, no one is there, no one understands and you feel so lost that you don’t know what direction to take remember this.
.
I care for you more than what I ever thought was humanly possible
.
I was there the second your heart started to beat, i was there when you took your first breath, I was there to hold you when you were fighting and I never wanted to let go, I was there to wipe your tears when you fell, to feed you, to dress you, to bath you.
.
I understand your pain because I live through your emotions, you hurt I hurt and yes the world can be a cruel place but together we learn and we can “always” get through it.
.
When your lost the direction is easy, you come to me.
You talk to me, you cry on my shoulder, you fall deep into my arms like you did on this day.
.
If I ask you of one thing in your life, it’s to remember how loved you are, you changed my world and I can never thank you enough..... you saved me, let me forever save you ❤️ .
I’m sure so many of us are holding our babies that little bit closer today .... sending each and everyone one of you love, kindness and to know everything will be ok ❤️ @3ofheartsmummy ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

I dream about your beautiful face.
Everytime you kick or dance around in my belly, I imagine it's your way of talking to me.
I get the sense you're going to be a funny little soul, like your big brothers!

I wonder who you'll be, who you'll take after, which things will be totally yours.

I can't wait to meet you, look into your brand new eyes and see the soul sparkling behind them.

I am so excited for this journey with you! I am so excited to get to know you!

Although in a weird way I feel like we've known each other forever.

Any day now, sweet girl, I'll get to hold you in my arms for the very first time, kiss your beautiful face and tell you how much I love you and how happy I am you're here 💕

  • I had a little breakdown the other day. Correction, I had a big breakdown the other day. And by breakdown I mean I pretty much cried on and off all day. ⁣
⁣
With baby coming pretty much any day now things have been getting real. 👶🏼 ⁣
⁣
I don’t think anything in particular triggered it. It’s just all the things. ⁣
All the hormones. ⁣
All the emotions. ⁣
All the thoughts. ⁣
All the fears. ⁣
All the unknowns. ⁣
⁣
Just a little glimpse into my crazy brain...⁣
⁣
How am I going to stay on top of the dishes with another little one when they already pile up all the time? 🥄 ⁣
⁣
How am I going to continue to build my business when I already a struggle to make time for it some days? 🌱 ⁣
⁣
How am I going to maintain friendships when I already feel like I’m struggling to be a good friend? 👭⁣
⁣
How am I going to show my husband that I love him with less time for us and less energy?👩‍❤️‍👨⁣
⁣
How am I going to love and spend time with both of my babies and give them the love and attention they both desire and deserve? 👶🏼 👧🏼 ⁣
⁣
I don’t love change. ⁣
Most of the time it honestly scares me. ⁣
And although I’m already a mama. ⁣
This step seems so different. ⁣
So big. ⁣
⁣
I am doing my best to embrace this weird season of waiting. ⁣
Of soaking up our time as a family of three. But also preparing to be a family of four. ⁣
Of being scared. ⁣
And excited. ⁣
All at the same time. ⁣ ⁣
And the one thing I keep coming back to is the Bible verse that Maisy keeps saying over and over lately. “With God all things are possible”. Matthew 19:26 ⁣
⁣
I’m learning to lean in. ⁣
To allow myself to fully feel and embrace all my feelings. ⁣
The *beauty* of all my feelings. (yes, im learning to accept that tears are beautiful too) ⁣
⁣
And to live in the moment not worrying about how I’m going to do all the things but resting in God’s perfect love that requires nothing of me 💛⁣
⁣
I share this because maybe you feel the same and this will help you know you’re not alone In this season. 🥰⁣
⁣
Or maybe you felt the same when transitioning to multiple kiddos and have some encouraging words of wisdom to drop below 👇🏼 for your fellow mamas. 😍⁣

  • Early lunch for Cooper and me today. On the left is mine, right is Cooper’s. I found these omelet cups at Aldi and both of them in the tray are only 4 carbs. And they are delicious! They are expensive though. $5 for 2 trays of omelet cups. Cooper’s is a veggie and egg white frittata (little higher in carbs but he needs them) and some cheese for some good protein. #healthyfamily #strawberryseason #omeletcups #lowcarb #healthypregnancy

⁣
Treat yourself every now and then to your favourite drink (just stay away from alcohol!). ⁣
⁣
You deserve it. Let that happy feeling flow into you. ⁣

  • Just a day in the life with #hyperemesisg... I can’t drive because I either get lightheaded or sick. My husband was driving me home from work today and I started getting sick. It hits me at anytime. I can be perfectly fine, almost normal for an hour sometimes longer , this can change rapidly and I start to decline again , and I’m out for the count. HG can I have my body back please ?
It’s the most frustrating mental situation to be in. My body is so weak and sick that I don’t even think I want to truly accept how sick I am. Mentally , I feel like I still want to take on the world. I want to get to work every day, walk my dog, do yoga..but I CANT and I don’t like not being able to do what I want. I would not do well laying in bed all day so I push myself . My mind and body are always at war and it’s very difficult to navigate through . I want to live my everyday life, yet sometimes I truly can’t even do the simplest things like brush my hair ! I truly wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy and my heart goes out to all the other women fighting like me.🤍#HGmoms #hgsupport#hgmoms#HERfoundation#hgawareness#livingwithhg#healthypregnancy#eatclean#natural#raw#organic#wellness#mommytobe#14weeks#hyperemesisgravidarum#hyperemesisgravidarumawareness#hyperemesissucks

  • Reposting this popular post because skin-to-skin is such an important and simple intervention!⁣
⁣
👉🏻Follow @babytalk.birthnurse for more fun pregnancy and birth education from a labour and delivery nurse👩‍⚕️ #preggolego⁣ 😍⁣
⁣
👶🏻What is immediate skin-to-skin contact?⁣
Skin-to-skin contact is usually referred to as the practice where a baby is dried and laid directly on their mother’s bare chest after birth, both of them covered in a warm blanket and left for at least an hour or until after the first feed.⁣
⁣
👶🏽Why is skin-to-skin contact important?⁣
There is a growing body of evidence that skin-to-skin contact after the birth helps babies and their mothers in many ways:⁣
⁣
💓Calms and relaxes both mother and baby⁣
💓Regulates the baby’s heart rate and breathing, helping them to better adapt to life outside the womb⁣
💓Stimulates digestion and interest in feeding⁣
💓Regulates temperature⁣
💓Enables colonization of the baby’s skin with the mother’s friendly bacteria, thus providing protection against infection⁣
💓Stimulates the release of hormones to support breastfeeding and mothering.⁣
⁣
👶🏿What happens during skin-to-skin contact?⁣
🔅When a mother holds her baby in skin to skin contact after birth it initiates strong instinctive behaviours in both.⁣
⁣
🔅The mother will experience a surge of maternal hormones and begin to smell, stroke and engage with her baby.⁣
⁣
🔅Babies’ instincts after birth will drive them to follow a unique process, which if left uninterrupted will result in them having a first breastfeed.⁣
⁣
🔅If they are enabled to familiarise themselves with their mother’s breast and achieve self-attachment it is very likely that they will recall this at subsequent feeds, resulting in fewer breastfeeding problems.⁣
⁣
Thank you, WHO for this information. 🤩Read more about the wonderful benefits of skin-to-skin on the WHO website:https://www.unicef.org.uk/babyfriendly/baby-friendly-resources/implementing-standards-resources/skin-to-skin-contact⁣

  • So glad it’s Friday and this week is over. First cup of coffee in 5 days!!!!
It was the longest week starting with an unwelcome stomach virus visiting me, my hubs and my middle daughter. Then I had doctors appointments, an ultrasound, work, picture day for the oldest, and just life while recovering from being sick. I’m not sure if it is being 34 weeks pregnant or getting older or a combination of the two, but recovering from this illness and taking care of my girls drained me of all energy this week. I went to bed early, took naps when I could and drank all the water. I’m still struggling with eating - nothing is appetizing and I’ve developed some ridiculous heartburn - but overall I’m back to just being ginormously pregnant. .
It felt great to press play this morning and get some exercise in again. Moving my body has become such an important part of my routine and I missed it. It’s so important to listen to your body when you need to rest - whether due to illness, stress, or fatigue. But it’s even more important to remember to start again - don’t be afraid to jump back into exercise. Take it slow, go at your own pace, and do the best you can. I certainly did today. And now that my day 1 is done - tomorrow will be even easier.
So here’s to getting back on track and hoping week 35 goes a lot smoother than week 34 did for this pregnancy!

  • "On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit.
.
And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'.
.
And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further.
.
With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high."

  • Someone placed the seed in your mind that •••
“You just gain weight faster, it runs in the family.”
“Temper runs in the family, you can’t help but snap at your kids. It’s just the way we are.”
“Your legs aren’t made for shorts.”
“HA, you won’t be saying you want a natural birth once you feel those contractions hit. No way you’ll be able to do it.”
.
.

and it has now become a limiting belief for you. The words that play over and over in your mind and hold you back. .
.

Limiting beliefs effect the choices you make every single day and worse then that, they can make up your suit-pilot 😖 but you have to remember... IT IS A CHOICE. You have mentally made the decision to be this way and amazingly enough...
👏🏼YOU CAN MENTALLY 👏🏼DECIDE TO BE 👏🏼SOMEONE DIFFERENT👏🏼!!!! To be exactly the wife, mother and woman you actually want to be. .
.

I coach my clients through limiting beliefs BECAUSE you will always fall back on them if you don’t address them. In motherhood, your health journey, your marriage, your career... every single area of your life.
You need to hold space, process and ask “why do I believe this about myself?” .
.

Does this apply to you? Do you mind sharing with me a time that someone placed a thought in your mind and it has since controlled your decisions and actions? .
.

If you’re frustrated with your health journey, consider any limiting beliefs you may have!
Where did they come from?
How have they interfered with your progress in the past? .
.

I’d love to help you through the entire process of what your health journey should and could look like!
The beautiful way mindset, nutrition and exercise are meant to work together.
Click the link in my bio to apply and I will happily get you all of the details!

  • Sometimes we don’t make the move we know could change everything because we don’t yet feel ready.
.
There’s a voice inside our head telling us:
I’ll take that step when...
🗣“I get more fit.”
🗣“One more week.”
🗣“After the holiday.”
🗣“When I finally nail down the mom routine”
🗣“When my baby gets a little older.”
🗣“After I have another baby.”
.
But then we reach that make-believe milestone we’ve set for ourselves, and what happens?
.
We still don’t jump.
.
Instead, we push back the 🥅goalposts another 10 yards and repeat the same cycle over and over again.
.
Before you know it, the seasons have changed, there’s snow on the ground (I know Cali doesn’t haha, but other places do), and you’re still no further along than you were when you began this🗣 “I want to be healthy and fit for my kids” thing.
.
Because, the truth is, it was never really about not being ready in the first place. Not really.
.
Your mind’s job is to protect you and keep you safe at all costs. And change? Change is scary AF to your existing set of beliefs.
.
Especially the sort of change that could just give you everything you’ve ever wanted.
.
That’s the sort of change that’s waiting for you at the Sweaty Mommy Long Beach. The amount of energy and satisfaction you will earn when joining. Taking action at Sweaty Mommy will multiply it.
.
The transformation you will have? The confidence inside Sweaty Mommy will grow it.
.
The way you think, feel and behave? The support inside Sweaty Mommy will transform it.
.
It WILL shift everything for you because we designed it to help that way.
.
So how do you outsmart your very logical-sounding mind and take action now, before you feel ready?
.
It’s simple, MAMA. 👉🏻You decide.
👉🏻You decide that the results that are abundant and readily available to you inside Sweaty Mommy are worth taking the next step.
👉🏻You decide that you have what it takes to be healthy & fit, feeling energized, increase your mood, and grow your confidence with ease and grace in this exact moment.
👉🏻You decide that you don’t want to be the person holding you back any longer.
👉🏻You decide that you’re ready enough.
Right now. TODAY IS YOUR LAST CHANCE, I would hate to ⬇️

And change? Change is scary AF to your existing set of beliefs.
.
Especially the sort of change that could just give you everything you’ve ever wanted.
.
That’s the sort of change that’s waiting for you at the Sweaty Mommy Sculpt Online. The amount of energy and satisfaction you will earn the next 4 weeks.

  • Wrapping up Heart Health month at Jazzercise Greenville Greer with @lindsww ... 7 months pregnant #legend 😍
Did you know that exercising while pregnant is not only good for mom’s heart, it’s good for baby’s too? ❤️
According to a 2011 study, infants whose mothers exercised while pregnant developed stronger, more athletic hearts even before birth. Their pulses were slower and the beat-to-beat variability was greater, a general indication of better-conditioned cardiac muscles. ❤️
Whether or not you’re expecting, Lindsey loves to see you “bumping” up your heart rate in her classes!
