⠀ #ClimateChange brings more frequent and severe heatwaves and other extreme weather events.
That’s why there is an urgent need to take #ClimateAction and to raise #ClimateAmbition for the future of our 🌍.

Known as ‘extreme event attribution’, human activity is raising the risk of some types of extreme weather, especially those linked to heat.
The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) in Geneva said that 2019 is on course to be amongst the worlds hottest ever years and that 2015-2019 would become the worlds hottest five year period since records began in 1881.
Another #heatwave is about to hit #France next week 🌡 40°C are to be expected here in #Bordeaux . ☀️ 4 pieces of advice for you so you’ll survive that summer 🏝
1) #Stayhydrated 🌊 drink between each game or chapter if you’re playing at #aplaguetale and make sure you had at least 2L of water a day 💦
2) Don’t let your #computer or #console 💻 on when you are not using them. Not only they require a lot of electricity ⚡️ they also produce a lot of residual heat that might lead to warm up your place 🥵
3) Avoid going outside between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. those are the hottest hours of the day 🔥 instead, wait 7 p.m. to go for a walk! First, you’ll be able to grab dinner 🥗 on the way. Second, you’ll be able to play #PokemonGo or #WizardsUnite without risking to pass out due to high air temperatures. 🚶♂️ 4) Do not #rage 🤯 Raging or anger feeling will increase your bloodflow and warm your body up 💥 You might wanna keep that for the winter season ⛄️ Instead, pause your game and #meditate , that will help your body and mind for sure 🎋
Voilà ! 💁🏼♀️ Here you go! Good luck fellow warriors and have a great day! 🌻

Still uncertainty with detail, but probably a one-day burst (for most) of very hot summer weather likely next week. Next Tuesday could see 30-35C for England and Wales, with 20-27C for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Stay tuned for updates!
The sunglasses are on, the floral print is out, and the weather is suspiciously warm: yes, we're in the throes of a pre-summer heatwave, an appetiser for the good times to come.
It’s time to grab your sun hat, find a rooftop terrace, and spend lazy, hazy afternoons eating fresh food and sipping from an Aperol spritz.
There's no better place to do so than London, where the pop-up food-and-drink scene has blossomed in recent years.
Whether you’re looking for something special to do on your next visit, or you’re a bored local in need of a refreshing change, see our link in bio for our guide to the places you should seek.
Throwback Thursday to our visit one year ago to Haweswater during an extremely long, hot and dry sunny spell ☀️☀️☀️ Swipe right to the the final then/now shot 👉
Mardale Green, in Cumbria, has rarely been seen since disappearing in 1935 when the valley was flooded to make way for Haweswater Reservoir.
Hundreds of villagers were evicted from their homes and most of the buildings were blown up by Royal Engineers who used them for demolition practice.
Mardale Green was considered one of the most picturesque villages in Westmorland, Cumbria, and many people thought it should be left alone.
When the Haweswater Dam was built, it raised the water level by 95ft (29 metres) and could hold 84 billion litres of water.
Did you know? 😮
A recent study predicted the future climate conditions of 520 major cities worldwide, and compared them with the conditions of cities today.
This helps visualise the impact of climate change on your own city, in the next 30 years!
In 2050, London could be as warm as Barcelona today, New York could be as warm as Virginia Beach, Seattle as San Francisco and Madrid as Marrakech!🥵
If you think this sounds nice, unfortunately it is not. A fifth of all cities around the world, including Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Singapore, will face conditions so extreme they don't currently exist anywhere in the world, according to the study.
These rises in temperatures could encourage the spread of infectious disease, endanger food security, and lead to water shortages.
Wet seasons will get wetter and dry seasons will get drier, increasing the danger of droughts and floods. Coastal cities are particularly at risk of flooding, which could damage buildings, displace residents, and threaten infrastructure like urban transportation systems.
The good news? Remember this is only a prediction so far, and although we don’t have much time, it is still possible to stop climate change if we act now! 🙌🌿

"When buying a home 27% of people said redecoration was their single most important priority, while for 21% it was fitting a new kitchen or bathroom. Yet only 12% said they would fit a new boiler. This is despite the fact that 29% of people who have bought homes before have had to replace the boiler earlier than anticipated, due to faults or its age."
