There are lots of different ways to wake up, but only a few you will remember for the rest of your life. Jumping directly out of the sauna into a glacial fed lake is one of those memorable ones. Currently making plans to get my own waterfront sauna somehow.
My first time seeing this view was last year, and completely by accident. Long before I'd start using topo maps for backcountry trips, when basically anything not on the trail, or pre planned, would probably end up being overlooked. I took a chance at sunrise, having been satisfied with the direction I went the night before, and decided to walk in a different direction. Then lake after lake started to appear, a total of five different ones slightly hidden from view. This was my favorite set of the bunch. Right as the first light shines over the ridge line and blasts into the valley below, and long shadows drape over the lake.

🌊 Did you know the government owns 90 per cent of the land in B.C.? These lands are home to more than two-thirds of Canada’s bird species and land mammals. 🦅

Lady Peak, from the trail to Mt. Cheam. I suspected with the weather forecast that some #longexposure daytime photography would be possible, so I made sure to take #myrrs tripod and @singhrayfilters neutral density filters with me. I have always loved #wynnbullock ‘s Sea Palms photograph, and I was disappointed I couldn’t visit Vancouver Island a couple weekends ago due to a headache that lasted the weekend. So, this is the homage I could do. #hellobc#explorebc With @benstormes and @laura.caddy
“I ask you...where else can you experience an amazing candle lit massage at the water's edge in a botanical garden, mesmerized by the hooting of an owl off in the distance? Mary has created an unparalleled experience to make one believe in magic! I am a believer, and I will be back!” —Jonathan from Encinitas California 💫
We're tucked inside a forested valley between the Rockies and Coastal Mountains of BC. So when we have the opportunity to hike up to a "look out," we take it... and we bring snacks of course!
