#HT or Heat treated, means the #pallets I used for this #raisedbed are safe for edibles. I put #newspaper in the bottom, a few layers, don’t use that weed barrier stuff not worth the hassle, just pull the occasional weed or use mulch to stop them. I added some partially broke down #compost and #sticks over the top of the newspaper and then added the #soil . The only cost for the mini #herb garden, plants and soil, and sweat. #SweetMint down front, #GreekOregano and #Rosemary in the main section. I’ll add some #seeds#tomorrow , not sure what yet.

This beautiful fragrant herb has likely seasoned your food many of times but it is so much more than it’s delicious flavour!
Thymus vulgaris (common thyme) is a herb I’ve known well since childhood, whenever any of us kids had a cough it was straight out to the glorious herb garden to grab a bunch of thyme for a herbal infusion, what I realised as I got older was the other kids suffered so much more than us when it came to coughs and respiratory issues and now that I’m studying these wonderful herbs I can say my childhood remedy is backed by a TONNE of scientific research 🧬
Thymus has antimicrobial, antitussive, spasmolytic and antioxidant activity!
It’s an exceptional herb for intestinal infections and infestations, including hookworms, ascarids, gram-positive and gram-negative bacterium, fungi and yeasts as well as Candida albicans
Thymus may improve liver function as well as being an appetite stimulant
Thymus is useful in the treatment of tracheal, bronchial, and urinary infections
Thymol (a constituent of thyme) is strongly effective against both enterobacteria and cocci bacteria
Thymus is very effective in the treatment of laryngitis and inflammation of the throat
Topically it is used for oily skin, sciatica, acne, dermatitis and bug bites
