When I was in year 7, I remember daydreaming about speaking at commencement events for schools and such...and as my own daughter sat at a special award ceremony last night to receive second place in English (out of 178 other year seven students), I was really honoured to have been asked to be the #guestspeaker for the #highschool .
Thanks @engadine_high_school for having me and thanks for the beautiful #flowers

Knowledge makes a man unfit to be a slave.Keep reading and gaining knowledge😁
Icebreaker activities are a really important way to get to know students and one of my favourite approaches is called Roll the Dice, Break the Ice.
For each roll, students have to respond to a question or topic in their group and in some cases, everyone will have to answer. This structure enables for a safe space for collaboration and provides an immediate framework for relationship building.
What other icebreaker activities do you like to use to get to know your students? Is this the kind of resources you’d like to see me release on @teacherspayteachers ? -M 📘
