It’s a special feeling when you have the freedom of time. Nowhere to be, no rushing to be done and the ability to stop as you please. Having these falls to ourselves, sitting and listening to the water rushing down the rocks... I’ll always be brought back to waterfalls where time stands still and moments are lived fully.

What a wild, wet day!
Because there is a storm coming tomorrow, we decided to go on a short but fun trip today and we are all tired! How was your day?
There's a lesson in this picture, that as a dog owner, I find difficult to swallow...
There are some parks that prohibit dogs and therefore prohibit me. There were trails in this park which I could not hike and other trails which I could take Dana with me, close and leashed. As much as I dislike being restricted with where I hike because of my dog, I completely understand and agree.
I believe that due to these restrictions, this herd of deer felt safe enough to stand within a few yards of me and Dana. There was at least six, peacefully watching us walk, without fear. Coyotes and wolves have a natural place as apex predators. Domesticated dogs do not. As a lover of nature, I respect the necessity of places where nature runs her course without interference from domesticated animals. You will see pictures of Dana on my feed without a leash. In our defense, she is 25lbs, 7 years old and very well trained. She did not bark or try to chase the deer. I've had her sit and stay while I get close to wildlife before and she ignores other dogs and most people on the trail. I've worked very hard to have a respectful, obedient, mutt!
After a long day, there’s nothing quite like enjoying a beautiful sunset. @jasonjko and I had just finished shooting a colorful sunset, and as were were relaxing and looking over the photos we just took, we looked to see the sky was still glowing. We started to shoot more and I was able to get a great shot with the moon out! What a perfect ending.
