🇬🇧The sanctuary of Las Lajas is a place of worship and pilgrimage located in the canyon formed by the Guaitara river. It is located in the municipality of Ipiales in southern Colombia. The sanctuary is dedicated to the Virgin of the Rosary, whose image was painted by an unknown author on a stone slab (lajas in Spanish), near a path in the canyon of the river. The existence of a sanctuary in this place is documented in the travel notes of a friar, who crossed the southern region of the New Kingdom of Granada in the mid-700s. The first sanctuary was built here in the mid-18th century in wood and straw, and was later replaced with a new large sanctuary in 1802, which was then enlarged and connected to the opposite side of the canyon with a bridge.🏛️🗿

The breathtaking splendor of our past... The beautiful Shore Temple at Mahabalipuram. It is heartening to see that despite continuous erosive effects of the moist and salty sea air, the Shore Temple preserves its beauty. Built between 700 and 728 CE during the reign of Narasimhavarman II, this is a remnant of a larger complex of temples and civil structures. It is believed to have been one of seven 'pagodas', as reported by seafarers in ancient times, much of which lie under the depth of the sea now.
[This day in history] 20April1889 Adolf Hitler was birth.
Was that a demon?
Adolf Hitler was a Führer(Headman) in Nazi Germany. At that time, the Germans support him as his political opinions. He promised the Germans that he would made their country's economy be great again. He would solve the unemployment. Also, he gave a speech everywhere. Many people were attracted.
After he became Führer,he was successful to finished his promises. Germany's economy devolved quickly. Additionally, he started controlling the people's mind. Toys, films, books and news became his advertisement. Nazi's party was the only legal party in Germany. Also, he let Gestapo to catch the Opponent. After than, no any opposition voice in there.
After than, he started prosecuting the Jewish. It is because of the hatred and political considerations. At that moment, the Jewish shops was closing down, the Jews lost the freedom and homes. As all things of Jews were not theirs, were the Germans. Later, the Jews went to the Concentration camp. In there, they need to work for Germans. If they are unlucky, they will die or used for the toxic gas test objects.
In addition, Hitler ordered the army to go to help the Germany explain the land to the France, Britain or Soviet Union. In the beginning, they are too successful by their faster, more powerful, and more advanced weapons and tanks. But the weak supply line and the double-sided combat let the army started to be weak. Furthermore, the United States send the troops and funded to his enemy constantly. Finally Hitler's army lost the war. Hitler felt helpless and angry. He also knew he cannot survive as he would be tortured and ridiculed. So he chose death.
Actually, before he entered politics, he was a German soldier. But he was not a German. He come from Austria-hungary. He used to want to be a painter. Unfortunately, he was rejected by the art school. Later he absorbed anti-Semitic thoughts. It let Hitler hate the Jews.
If Hitler became the painter, the world war II might not started.

#mosque#mosquee#sheikhzayedmosque#architecture#architect#memari#masjed#history#ancienthistory#historico#historical#monument#monuments#monumental
My great uncle took this photo, he was a part of 37 squadron, RAF in 1943 and one of the members stands in front of an abandoned Stuka here. If I could pick a favourite German plane of the war it would certainly be the Stuka.
