  • An adorable newsie delivering Myrna an issue of Liberty magazine on the set of "Parnell", 1937.
.
"Liberty was a weekly, general-interest magazine, originally priced at five cents and subtitled, 'A Weekly for Everybody.' It was launched in 1924 by McCormick-Patterson… At one time it was said to be 'the second greatest magazine in America,' ranking behind The Saturday Evening Post in circulation. It featured contributions from some of the biggest politicians, celebrities, authors, and artists of the 20th-century. The contents of the magazine provide a unique look into popular culture, politics, and world events through the Roaring 20s, Great Depression, World War II, and Post-War America. It ceased publication in 1950 and was revived briefly in 1971." (Wikipedia)

  • Hi my name is Paulina Nguyen, my parents are immigrants from Vietnam. my mom had me when she was 21, I am first generation Vietnamese American and proud. I’m also a college drop out and did not become the doctor or lawyer like they wanted me to be but it’s fine because I live in West Hollywood, and to... Los Angeles standards, that’s almost making it 😅🙋🏻‍♀️🤪 #nomakeup #nofilter #naturalbeauty #actress #mode #vietnamesegirls #hollywoodactress

  • Myrna with Pat O'Brien at the "Nostalgia Party" at Goldwyn Studios (and on the poster in the film "Consolation Marriage", 1931), November 1, 1977. The party was hosted by Burt Reynolds to welcome the cast of "The End". Reynolds directed and starred in the film, and Myrna played his mother. In the third photo, it's Myrna with O'Brien, Reynolds, and Kristy McNichol, who played her granddaughter.

From Myrna's autobiography: "[Reynolds called] 'I want you for my mother,' he declared. 'You and Pat O'Brien have always been my ideal parents and he's already agreed to do the father.' Pat and I had just one scene, but Burt made the most of it on and off screen. At a huge, festive party to welcome us, Burt had the sound stage decorated with an enormous blowup from 'Consolation Marriage' in 1931. As we posed for photographers beneath that glossy advertisement for gilded youth...Pat turned to me and said, 'Myrna, you want to see my pacemaker?' I declined the offer, so he ripped his shirt open and went around showing it to everyone else. He was priceless, better than ever. Working together was not very different after forty-seven years, really, except we had been younger then."
