We vergeten haar nooit ♡
Song : Another Love - Tom Odell
Zaterdag, 1 April 1944
R' Ziemba was born in Warsaw, in 1883. His father, R' Elazar, died while Menachem was still a young boy. He was brought up by his grandfather, a Gerrer chasid.
As R' Ziemba grew up in Warsaw, he gained a reputation as a formidable Torah scholar and a great genius.
In 1935 he was appointed to the Warsaw Rabbinate, becoming one of the foremost spokesmen for Orthodox Jewry in Poland. R' Ziemba became a Halachic decisor of great importance, answering questions from around the world.
In the Warsaw Ghetto, after the German invasion of Poland, R' Ziemba was a source of hope, optimism and inspiration. He actively supported the Ghetto underground, and helped them obtain ammunition.
R' Menachem Ziemba was killed in the Warsaw Ghetto, on the 19th of Nissan 1943. After the war, his body was brought to Israel and was laid to rest on Har HaMenuchos in Jerusalem.
WOMP WOMP #trump@realdonaldtrump BUSTED! #republican (s) #america#conservative#liberal#democrat#freedom#patriot . Is #trumpsamerica a #democraticrepublic or a #dictatorship where he is above the law? Where he is above the checks and balances that make this country what it is? He is racist, sexist, scapegoats minorities, villainizes the media when its against him and spews propaganda via outlets that support him and via his social media, incites hate, division, and fear to gain power and control. Remind you of anyone?? #Jews dont have horns. #Blackpeople arent lazy. #Immigrants arent rapists murderers and criminals. He's a money launderer. Every time he spends tax payer dollars on his golf courses those tax dollars go into his bank account and that will in fact get him incarcerated and he knows it. #openyoureyes Dont forget #history dont allow another #holocaust . This #totalitarian behaviour and hate mongering should have been ended right when it started. #lovetrumpshate#whitehouse needs to act. The government works for THE AMERICAN PEOPLE and government officials need to remember that and do their jobs and fight for us like @elizabethwarren does. Like @ocasio2018 does. Like @pete.buttigieg does, and so many others amazing politicians, too numerous to list, who put the welfare Of the country FIRST unlike potus. And dont go thinking i'm a liberal or democrat or a conservative or a republican. I dont vote by party i vote by policy and so should every voter in this country.
Yesterday, our #DCM Ms. Smadar Shapira was invited to give a special lecture on #Holocaust for high school students of The American School of Bangkok ( #ASB ), Sukhumvit Campus. A multi-national group of over 50 audience had an opportunity to ask questions and discuss about #Holocuast after a screening of a documentary movie, #PowerOfGood .
Special thanks to the Principal Ms. Jennifer Hartman, Head of Department-Learning Support Mr. Daniel T. McFarlane, and Director of Instruction and Curriculum Mr. Brody LaRock for a fruitful cooperation and warm welcome.
This post is facts about the Holocaust. I wanted to do this because I found some facts that I, myself didn't even know while researching for this post so I want to share it with all of you whether you already knew all of these facts or not and spread some information so no one is misinformed. I know this post might be quite ‘heavy’ (Is that how you say it in English?) but here where I live, in The Netherlands ‘bevrijdingsdag’ is coming up (Liberation day) and I thought it was the right time. When that time comes, I will also post a special post about Dutch Jews during the Holocaust but yeah, for now I hope you learned something from this post!

I'm so thankful my great great grandmother and grandfather didn't fall victims of this evil. My family suffered, but we won't let evil win.
2711 blocks represent more than 6 million Jews killed in Europe
#auschwitz#secondworldwar#poland#holocaust#europe#history#holiday#eurotrip

Ursula Lowenbach Foster, a Holocaust survivor and former classmate of Anne Frank, fled Germany, and moved to Amsterdam in 1938 when she was 11, to escape Nazi persecution. Two years later, Germany conquered the Netherlands, and brought the same persecution to Ursula’s new home.In 1942, that persecution took a dramatic turn for the worse when Ursula’s older brother, Ernst, at age 18, was sent by the Nazis to Auschwitz Concentration Camp in Poland, where he was murdered in the gas chambers.
In order to avoid a similar fate, Ursula and her parents went into hiding in 1943. For nearly two years, they lived secretly in an overcrowded house with 14 other Jews, all hidden by a merciful Dutch family. For one of those years, all 16 of the guests were forced to sleep in the dirt underneath the house — among the crawling insects and rats — in order to escape detection by the Nazis.
Durschganglager Westerbork, one of the 3 camps (with Vught and Amersfoort) from where people were deported in the Netherlands. Westerbork was the largest and it’s also the one from where Anne Frank was deported. There is not much left over. The house of the last Commandant and a small museum with interesting items. Like the sign for passengers carriage. Direction Auschwitz, and it gives the impression trains are also riding back.... #westerbork#kampwesterbork#annefrank#holocaust#shoah#auschwitz#nowayback#remember#history

#Who , after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians? " #AdolfHitler
Hitler, based on Armenian genocide decided to kill six million Jewish #Holocaust
The #Armenian#Genocide , also known as the Armenian #Holocaust , was the #Ottoman government's systematic extermination of 1.5 million Armenians. The starting date is conventionally held to be 24 April 1915, the day that Ottoman authorities rounded up, #arrested , and #deported Armenian intellectuals and community leaders, the majority of whom were eventually #murdered .
#Turkey denies the word genocide is an accurate term for these #crimes , but has been faced with repeated calls to recognize them as genocide.
The Armenian Genocide #memorial complex, is Armenia's official memorial dedicated to the #victims of the Armenian Genocide, built in 1967 on the hill of #Tsitsernakaberd Every year on April 24—the Armenian Genocide #Remembrance Day— thousands of Armenians gather at the memorial to commemorate the victims of the genocide. They lay fresh flowers out of #respect for all the people who died in the Armenian genocide.
Elisabeth Hesselblad, born June 4, 1870, Fåglavik, Västergötland. Saint. Nurse and nun. From a Protestant burghers background. Emigrated to the United States in 1888. Worked as a registered nurse on the American east coast and studied to become a doctor. Converted to the Catholic faith in 1902. Had a divine revelation during a pilgrimage to Rome in 1906 and set out to revitalise the Bridgettine Order, originally founded by Saint Bridget of Sweden in 14th century. Re-established the order in Sweden with a convent on Djursholm outside of Stockholm in 1923. Saved hundreds of Italian Jews from the Holocaust during WW2 by giving them shelter at the main Bridgettine convent in Rome claiming that the area stood under Swedish and not Italian jurisdiction. Bestowed the honorific Righteous Among the Nations by the state of Israel. Oversaw the expansion of her new branch of the Bridgettines all over the globe. Died April 24, 1957, Rome. Buried at Casa di Santa Brigida, Rome. Canonised by Pope Francis on June 5, 2016, hereby becoming the second Swede ever officially declared a saint within the Catholic Church. #olddeadswedes#swedes#swede#sweden#swedish#scandinavia#scandinavian#nordic#europe#history#swedishhistory#heritage#culture#portrait#famous#onthisday#saint#christian#christianity#catholicism#nun#bridgettine#holocaust#humanitarian#elisabethhesselblad

April 24 marks the beginning of what became known as the #ArmenianGenocide . 104 years ago, the #Ottoman authorities rounded up and arrested 235 to 270 Armenian intellectuals and community leaders, majority of whom were eventually murdered. The genocide was carried out during and after World War I. The #genocide began by the mass killing of the able-bodied male population through massacre, subjection of army conscripts and forced labour, followed by the deportation of women, children, the elderly, and the infirm on death marches leading to the Syrian Desert.
The Armenian Genocide is acknowledged to have been one of the first modern genocides and is the second most-studied case of genocide after the #Holocaust .

👋 Hello everyone! Fabulous writer friend @julie_embleton ❤️ tagged me for an #authorselfie I’m not big on selfies, but I love our writing community, so here you go! Without you, my writing journey would not be the same. 🙏 You inspire and support me daily, and I appreciate that and you all so very much. Here are some facts about me that you may not know.
I’m Italian Canadian, 🇮🇹 raised in Canada and have been living in a quaint beach community in Los Angeles, California for the past five years. I grew up spending many summers in Italy with my family and lived in Spain for several years. I love Spanish culture and practice my Spanish every chance I get.
For the past twenty years, Graphic Design has been my trade. My other passions are writing, painting, and singing. I’ve written and recorded a few songs which live on Soundcloud and Youtube. I also sang in community musical theater many years ago—what a great feeling! 🎤🎶
I live a ten-minute walk to the ocean and feel blessed I can walk the most beautiful stretch of beach right in my back yard.☀️🌊🌴
This year I’m pouring my heart and soul into writing my first book about my mother’s life—an epic family saga driven by the power of love in the shadow of war and survival. Love. Resilience. Legacy. These are the lessons my mother taught me in her struggles through poverty and the horrors of World War II. You can read more about her epic story in my bio link.✍️📚
Two of my uncles died fighting in the war—One on the Russian front and one died at the hands of the Nazis, in a concentration camp, which I visited last year in Germany. Their tragic death is another reason for my book. I want to give them a voice and a second chance at life through my words, and write my family's lives forward, so they are never forgotten, and so their spirit can be felt. #neverforget#holocaust 💜
My beloved mother is soon to be 84 years old. It is my wish to have this book completed this year, printed, and in her hands so she can read it with pride, know her life had meaning, and understand what an incredible inspiration she is to so many.❤️

2019 Holocaust Remembrance Calendar of Events “Holocaust Remembrance: Demand and Defend Your Human Rights”
The theme of the Holocaust remembrance and education activities this year is “Holocaust Remembrance: Demand and Defend Your Human Rights”. This theme encourages youth to learn from the lessons of the Holocaust, act against discrimination and defend democratic values in their communities, at a time when the spread of Neo-Nazism and hate groups fuels the rising antisemitism and other forms of hatred around the world. The theme highlights the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
