Good morning! Happy Monday!! I woke up in a GREAT mood this morning ready to KILL IT in everything I do this week!
Educating myself on "time-blocking", having a plan and staying organized! So key for running two businesses and in school full-time.
Perks of being my own boss? The end of the week is going to be warm and GORGEOUS and I plan on "playing hookie" with my pup Jacob and taking a nice walk by the ocean! Would your boss let YOU do that in the middle of the day?! — feeling grateful.
If you asked me years ago if I ever saw myself doing public speaking I would have laughed in your face. I was way too timid & couldn’t imagine it. .
I love the impact I make on peoples lives doing what I do. Such a powerful & motivating feeling that I get from doing it, turns out that I love doing it!

Day 25 👩🔧 How It's Made 👩🔧 #MarchMeetTheMaker
3 or 4 years ago when I started digging into #metalart and crafts I found a pattern. I think it was in a language foreign to me but I managed to create a similar pattern to work with as I understood the concept of assembly off the bat. I have altered this process many times as I've learned exactly what works and what doesnt!
So this is how I make my metal #roses
I start with 10" x 10' aluminum flashing (generally used for roofing) from the home improvement store and I cut 8" pieces with my any angle metal shears. One 8" x 10" piece gives me enough space to transfer my pattern to the metal with a permanent marker. I then use my favorite softgrip scissors by @fiskarsamericas to slowly and carefully cut out the shapes. This is where most of my metal splinters occur so I take my time to be sure I don't create unnessecary slivers and I sand the edges before the next step.
Then comes the fun part!
I place them one at a time on my wood block and push a hole through the middle with one of my best embossing tools for etching. The pieces get stacked in order on top of the block as I attach the stem.
The bending and shaping happens next with my trusty #pliers and fingers starting with the inner petals. When I'm satisfied, the leaf piece beneath the petals gets glued down with super #jewelryglue by @aleenesdiy and the #floral wire wrapping begins. After that's done very tightly, I use floral tape to mask the wire once it's all painted with #acrylic paints 😊
