I saw this today and couldn't agree more. Truth in love! 💓🙌🙏

A year ago, a gentleman and generous soul by the name of @scott.portelli asked me if I wanted to bring a small @sealegacy team to come to Tonga and film humpback whales. It is his contribution to the work we do. We have only been here for two days and this happened first thing this morning. I find that with whales, the less you move and the less you approach them the more they will approach you. This mom and calf did exactly that. #humbling#gratitude#naturelovers Video by @kyle.roepke with @swimmingwithgentlegiants shot under special interaction permit (regulation 13) authorized by Tongan Ministry of Tourism.
As I sit at the airport ✈️ waiting to board our plane home, I reflect on my weekend here in Nashville, Tennessee. 💕I got to meet one of my top leaders and my inspiration Krii Black. 💕I got to meet my life twin Dana and her amazing team Judy and Lindsay. 💕I listened to the most motivational speakers that made me smile, made me laugh and made me cry! Having the privilege of one of the speakers being Rachel Hollis was humbling. (If you have the chance to hear her speak... DO IT! Or get her books 📖 “Girl Wash Your Face” and “Girl Stop Apologizing”) 💕I witnessed the release of a tier one product and the products that will have us disrupting the skincare industry YET AGAIN! 💕I witnessed the heart and soul of the city and all it has to offer. 💕AND... I got to spend the weekend with my sponsor Crystal, who also just happens to be my best friend.
All of this because of my business Rodan + Fields. So for those who doubt this business, roll your eyes when you see my posts, find direct sales laughable...that’s ok because we were 𝟭𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚 this weekend. We will continue to keep making a difference and I will keep loving what I’m doing because this business has given me 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 than just great skin.
Next year we are headed to ✨Las Vegas✨ who will join me?
I don’t know if you needed to hear this today, but I did. 💜
Sometimes we toughen up as a reaction to [tough] external situations.
But there’s a difference between being tough and resilient, 💪🏻
...and being rough and hard to get through. 😖
I realized this weekend that I had my guard up due to something having happened a few weeks ago...
And there are consequences to (still) reacting like this!
I wasn’t authentically me 😮
I was coming from a place of fear rather than positivity 🙀
I was less appreciative than normal 😭
And I didn’t see the other person in the best possible light (again, I detracted from the behaviour I would have normally liked to exhibit). 😿
And when we have our guard up and not being ourselves, we create more hurtful situations (“tough external situations”).
And then it’s easy to react with more roughness and pain. 🤦♀️
It was pretty humbling to have come to the realization that this was what I was doing this weekend... but it was good that I had the chance to re-set my mindset. 🙏🏻
So I challenge you to letting your guard down and starting over. 🙏🏻
The world isn’t rough at all, the world is pretty great. 🤗
Let those walls come down, let the love come in. 💜
Yesterday, we had a family come to the store and the mom saw our writing on the Drive Thru window and asked about it.
We explained why we were partnering with @teamjaydie and she proceeded to roll down the back passenger window and introduced us to her young son, who was diagnosed with #childhoodcancer in January.
After that interaction, those of us on DT had an entirely new perspective and this is why we are asking for donation for these kids!
This is Bombax Ceiba or silk cotton tree’s seed pod - the seeds are padded in a soft silky cotton pods and one can see these cotton tufts gliding through the sky like a little pieces of cloud... .
Some tribes are known to weave thread out of these, but most kids who grew up in forest regions have played with it... some grannies had the sense to stuff the cotton into pillows. ( which led to fights between grandchildren to sleep with her ) .
Every time I look into this a sense of wonder dawns, that innocent wonder which could not fathom what a wonder nature was , but could feel it in the spirit... precious as it is we also believe in keeping that sense alive - for from it arises a gratitude and humbleness , that we are just a small blade of grass in a big forest...
I don't do Selfies but solo travel can be humbling. While I've been on many solo business trips, this one was especially hard on me. I missed the kid. I discovered that I'm not a solo vacation person. "There, there", said the brother. "It's an acquired taste". Note to self - siblings can be stupid. Don't listen to them. Or may be you could.
You have to be moderately motivated to do this - constant planning, taking care of yourself - food, health, safety et al. and still having a good time.
What I did learn was - the art of looking at something beautiful and just wonder to YOURSELF - oh how surreal is this, the art of talking to random strangers, making random plans, being indulgent just for yourself, getting to love the slow humming of time and succor that only "being alone" provides, but most importantly - that walking out of your comfort zone can be unnerving but fulfilling at the same time.
Do it!!! #israel#vacation#humbling#EinGedi#judeanmountains#JudeanHills#desert#solo#travel#travelsolo
First #swim in over a month- I was sick for almost six weeks with back-to-back viruses, ear infections, and bronchitis... so #grateful to be able #swimlaps ... it was a slow mile today - but I’ll take it. It been #humbling to be this ill for this long.

The ultimate partnership - trusting a 500kg partner with a mind of it’s own, and a fight or flight instinct. ❤️ #humbling

Just a week after the shipment of Pete the Hungry Pig books arrived at my door I attended my first book selling event - a farmer's market in downtown Natick, MA. It was an absolutely gorgeous late summer day - warm temperatures with the hint of fall in the air. Truly my favorite New England weather. I set up my table in the shade of a large tree so as to filter out the heat of the midday sun and watched as families filled the town square - kids in soccer uniforms, babies in strollers, dad's with children on their shoulders. And, although I was expecting to man the table alone for the day, I had a huge show of support from my family. Visitors included seven of my grandchildren (and their parents), my daughter and her fiancé, my sister and my brother and his family. All there to cheer me on as I begin this adventure as a published author. Their presence meant the world to me and reminded me why I published this book in the first place - to be an example of someone who had a dream and pursued it. Literature and children are two of my greatest loves and writing this book (and the upcoming sequel) is the perfect way to weave these loves together. It was such fun (and so humbling) to stand in front of strangers and share the story of Pete the Hungry Pig and to have them want to spend their hard earned money to purchase a copy. Event #1 is in the books! Thank you to all who purchased books - I pray that you find joy and laughter within the pages! The most rewarding part of this business is being able to help women.
I feel so amazing when someone messages me and says “you inspire me every day/week to get my workout in”
I was able to reach someone’s life today and make them feel motivated enough to get their fitness on. That they’ve been watching me and they think “if she can do it, so can I!” These are the people that inspire ME. You come to me saying these wonderful things but then I turn around and you’ve made me better.
You’ve made me realize that I need to keep going. You motivate me to keep going and inspiring and motivating women to start their own journey in any way, shape or form.
Sitting at the top of Angel's Landing, seemingly at the top of the world, was humbling and amazing. It took A LOT of adrenaline to push through and make the terrifying climb. I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to do this with Parker.
Pictures from the historic haunted walking tour of the heart of downtown LA; including Union Station, the Pico House and the Pueblo of LA founded in 1781 ☠️🌑✨⛩🏚⏳🕊
Apparently the Pico House was known for its over the top parties that went all night. It is haunted by the ghosts who aren’t done partying yet. The truest “afters” I’ve ever come across 👻
The Oregon coast is humbling. The power of the Pacific is breathtaking and awe inspiring. This was the last part of my trip and a beautiful close to an amazing experience. Adventure heart and soul- complete.💜More pics to come! @devilschurn@devilspunchbowl
