Recipe: 🥘 
1 1/2 cups Chickpeas or Garbanzo Beans (soaked and cooked or rinsed and drained from a can)
1/2 of a cup Tahini (Sesame paste)
1/8 of a cup Dijon Mustard
2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup of Water (or more if needed)
1 tablespoon Pure Maple Syrup (can be omitted)
Small handful Fresh Parsley + more for garnish
Olive Oil (optional)
Paprika (optional)

Method: 🧂 
Place all ingredients except olive oil, paprika, and extra parsley in a food processor. Pulse until hummus is smooth, adding more water if needed.
Add hummus to a large bowl and drizzle with a tablespoon or two of olive oil, sprinkle with paprika, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

  • The only HUMMUS RECIPE you’ll ever need:
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons tahini
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 3-4 tablespoons olive oil or water
- 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
INSTRUCTIONS:
Pour the lemon juice and tahini into your food processor and process on high for 1 minute. Scrape down the bowl of your processor with a spatula and process for 30 more seconds. This "whipping" step is crucial for getting that smooth, creamy hummus.
Add in the minced garlic, 1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil orwater, salt and cumin and process for 1 minute. Scrape down the sides of your processor and process 30 more seconds.
Add in half of the chickpeas and process until mostly smooth. Add in the remaining chickpeas and process until everything is combined and mostly smooth.
Lastly, while your processor is running, slowly pour in the remaining two tablespoons of olive oil or water. Let your processor run another minute until the hummus is smooth and creamy.
Serve immediately with an extra drizzle of olive oil and a dash of paprika or store in an airtight container in the fridge for a week.

It includes recipes that help you reduce your impact on the planet while eating well, like my collection of “Not Just Hummus” pictured here (red pepper, eggplant, zhoug 🤤). But the other eco-friendly advice and recipes are really incredible and worth the read. .
I may have accidentally taken most of the summer off of posting, but I have been loving everyone’s content ☺️ stay tuned in my stories for peeks of how I’ve made my new kitchen low-waste friendly, and of course for new recipes coming soon!

  • Hummus is probably my most commonly suggested snack food to patients in clinic ! It’s so cheap and easy to make, full of fibre, calcium (tahini) and protein. Unless you have a FODMAP intolerance - you just can’t not love it ! Today’s variation is blended with sun dried tomatoes. 1 can of chickpeas, 1 garlic clove, 2 tbsp tahini, 150ml water, a big squeeze of lemon juice and a pinch of sea salt, with as many sun dried tomatoes as you like... I used oil free strips, I threw in approximately a tbsp of them and then topped with more and sesame seeds ✨

  • L'estate è una stagione che ci regala tanto, la frutta ,le verdure hanno un colore e  profumo unico. Oggi vi presento un piatto molto veloce da fare, sano  e salva linea, soprattutto per chi non vuole rinunciare al gusto. Una millefoglie vegana mediterranea, semplicemente alternando melanzane grigliate, mozzarella di riso e pomodori. Per dare un po'di gusto, spalmare gli ingredienti con hummus di ceci e hummus di avocado. Tocco finale , completare con qualche foglia di basilico e olive nere. Un piatto veloce, invitante e appetitoso. Buon appetito.

  • ¡Hola! ¡¡Hola!! ¡¡¡Todos!!! ¡Espero que tu semana esté yendo genial hasta ahora! Si no, asegúrate de que todo salga bien 😉 ¡Aquí está mi receta de Hummus al estilo Indio que puedes usar para comer entre tu día! .

Que necesitas: 📝1 taza de garbanzo, 1 pulgada de jengibre, 1/2 cdta de semillas de mostaza, 1/2 ctda de semillas de comino, 5 cda de aceite de sésamo (o aceite de elección), jugo de 1 limón, 1/3 taza de semillas de sésamo, sal al gusto, menta hojas para decorar (opcional) .

Cómo hacerlo: ⏰ 
1. Remoja 1 taza de Garbanzos durante la noche (mínimo 8-12 horas) 
2. Cocina los garbanzos en una olla a presión con una pizca de sal, 2 tazas de agua, 6-7 rodajas de jengibre durante 20 minutos. Escurre el agua y reserva los garbanzos. 
3. En una sartén pequeña, coloca 1 cucharada de aceite de elección y deja que se caliente en la estufa. En 30 segundos, agrega 1/2 cucharada de semillas de mostaza y 1/2 cucharada de semillas de comino y saltea bien durante otros 30-40 segundos. 
4. Agrega estas especias salteadas a los garbanzos. 
5. En una licuadora, mezcla 1/3 taza de semillas de sésamo y agrega 4 cucharadas de aceite de sésamo (o el aceite de tu elección). Agrega los garbanzos, 1/4 taza de agua, 3 cucharadas de jugo de limón, sal al gusto y mezcla nuevamente. Decora con hojas de menta si quieres. 
6. Voila! ¡Hummus está listo para disfrutar con galletas, pan, zanahorias, etc., etc.! 😘😘😘 .

2) Mixed Green Salad with cranberries and walnuts
3) Ricotta & Sundried tomato Ravioli
4) Coconut Avocado smoothie - blend of avocado, banana and coconut milk

Food tasted fresh and yum. The platter is a must try for all Mediterranean food lovers. The smoothie tasted amazing too 🥑

  • HUMMUS MEDITERRANEO SU PANE CROCCANTE DI MAIS E POMODORI ARROSTO 👩🏼‍🍳🌱 questa cena è già salita sul podio delle preferite dal marito (e mio)! Lui che fin da subito mi ha appoggiata e ha capito l'importanza di mangiare vegetale per la salute, ma ha sempre messo le mani avanti dicendo "la vita è una, io mangio sano ok, ma qualche eccezione per piacere del palato dovrò farla" (aggiungo anche x abitudine di come è/siamo cresciuti). Ma infatti legandomi a questo discorso a tutte voi che mi seguite e NON siete vegane, voglio dirvi che io NON vi voglio fare diventare vegane (l'ho detto più volte, quando usciamo capitano le eccezioni anche a noi), ma ci tengo tanto tanto tanto a non farvi fare l'errore che ho fatto io negli anni passati, e che fanno in tante, tutti i giorni la carne, vi prego, non fatelo! Mio suocero ne è l'esempio, con il colesterolo molto oltre il limite. È dannoso per la vostra salute. Non voglio puntare troppo sull'amore verso gli animali o sui benefici per il pianeta, perché so che molta gente è egoista, lo dico proprio per voi! 250 g ceci già cotti
200 g peperoni arrostiti
10 pomodori secchi reieratati
4 foglie di basilico
1 cucchiaino di sale
pepe
peperoncino
mezzo spicchio d'aglio
2 cucchiai d'olio

Ada l'autosvezzante ha amato questa cena 😋 hummus + bastoncini di pane bruscato + pomodori arrosto 😋

    250 g ceci già cotti
    200 g peperoni arrostiti
    10 pomodori secchi reieratati
    4 foglie di basilico
    1 cucchiaino di sale
    pepe
    peperoncino
    mezzo spicchio d'aglio
    2 cucchiai d'olio
    ➡️ Frullate tutto!
    👴🏼🧓🏻 I suoceri ci hanno preparato i deliziosi #pomodoriarrosto 🚸 Ai bimbi ho fatto la versione classica dell'hummus, che vi ho postato ieri (che potete fare più liquida o più densa in base ai vostri gusti regolandovi con l'acqua)! Ada l'autosvezzante ha amato questa cena 😋 hummus + bastoncini di pane bruscato + pomodori arrosto 😋

  • There’s nothing like hummus in Israel. @kosher_grill_orlando comes very close to bringing that experience to Orlando. I dream about the fresh pita, sometimes.

  • Simple snacks make my life so much easier. We are hummus lovers in this house. So instead of buying the store bought stuff with all the unnecessary extra ingredients, I prefer to make my own when I have time. It doesn’t always work out that way but I definitely take advantage of any extra time I have to make my own. It comes out tasting so fresh and silky smooth. 😋⁣

Chili sin Carne!! 😮🌱 w/ soy mince, kidney beans, sweetcorn in a smoky spicy sauce w/ a giant dollop of creamy vegan yogurt on top, at none other than @bachmannconfiserie. We had no idea they had so many vegan options but turns out they have specials throughout the week, so 'Chili sin carne' on Mondays, 'Vegan Massaman' curry on Tuesdays (we need to try this!!) 'Oriental vegan couscous' on Thursday etc. We also discovered tons of other vegan noms like mango chia pudding, blueberry bircher muesli, hummus & falafel pots, chilli & sweetcorn bread, chutneys, and 'Ruebli-sprossen' sandwich - scroll to view our epic haul. The bowls were also super affordable (the vegan chilli and massaman curry are only 8.60chf each). Would you like to see more suggestions on affordable vegan eats in Zurich? We're thinking to create a special stories highlight for you 😉

  • “Make in a bag” day 2! Did you know you can make hummus in a bag? It’s super easy and the kids LOVE it! Just pop some garbanzo beans (washed and drained) in a ziplock bag with a squeeze of lemon juice, some olive oil, salt and pepper. Seal and have them smash it up! You can even add different herbs or seasonings like everything but the bagel seasoning or some premade pesto. .
