  • I’ve always had a passion for helping people on their fitness journeys. So this summer I decided to take that passion to the next level and become a certified personal trainer.   • I’m never really one to post about myself, let alone a photo of just me. However, I achieved something I am very proud of & wanted to share 😊

When I first moved to Telluride 3 years ago, I joined the local gym, Telluride FUEL. 
I never really talk to anyone, & was extremely intimidated to join any group fitness classes. I used to just hop on the treadmill & watch the classes, always impressed with how strong & athletic everyone in this town is. 
Eventually I decided to try my first class, & was immediately obsessed. My favorite part of the day soon became going to the gym & taking one of the classes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
A few months later, Becca informed me they were looking for some help at the front desk, and I immediately jumped at the opportunity to become part of the “team.”
Being at the gym for work has been one of the greatest job opportunities I could have imagined. I began taking every class I possibly could, and aspired to teach & train like my coworkers one day. Although this was a dream of mine, I never quite had the confidence to inquire about teaching. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fast forward a year later, Becca asked me if I would be interested in getting certified in personal training. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was honored, & decided to go for it almost immediately. 
Months of studying, and observing training sessions paid off when I passed my test about a month ago and became a Certified Personal Trainer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Although I don’t have any clients yet & I know this will take time & hard work, I am beyond excited to start 2019 off on this new journey! ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Along with passing my test, I also started teaching my own group fitness class at the gym. 
I’ve come a long way from being scared & intimidated by them just a few years ago, & hope to use that to inspire others to step outside their comfort zone and try out a class!

Working out has become my form therapy, stress relief, and dedication to myself.
I am so blessed to now be able to call this my work.

A special shoutout to Becca Tudor, Ryan Dohnal & the rest of the FUEL staff for helping me along the way. It is an honor to be a part of the team and this fitness community!

I use to compare myself to the fitness models I would see on Instagram it would take a toll me and there were a lot of accounts that I loved the content they put out but I had to unfollow because of my own insecurities. The past few weeks it kind of clicked, which as a photographer it should of a long time a go. Before you compare your body to mine (or anyone’s) know I’m not going to post a picture that unflattering to me. Know in this  I’m posing at my best angle, know I’m flexing, know my abs just went through an intense routine, so my core is looking more toned, know I’m wearing high waisted pants to hide what tummy and extra skin I do have. •

Having trouble feeling comfortable squatting to parallel?
Feel yourself plopping on the couch instead of sitting?
#BoxSquats are a functional method to work on issues like these. I utilize these with clients who experience the above, or if they present with heels elevating during the squat. 
This is a great way to train your body to get comfortable with squatting!
1. Start with a high box that severely limits the ROM
2. Lower gradually on each set of reps until there is no box and try to hit the same depth. *Things to consider*
Make sure heels stay planted to the floor and try to keep all of your muscles tight through the exercise and work on the feeling of rebound from when your butt hits the box. ・・・・・・・・・

You can go 3 weeks without having a single donut, but when you want one, suddenly 3 weeks and 1 day go by, you've splurged on two boxes - because you couldn't control yourself & then the desire to eat one kicks in, as it did 3 weeks prior. 𝗦𝗼 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘁. 😅

    Your body won't thank you for going long periods of time staying away from something you enjoy, it'll be upset, sad, and grumpy.

    You can go 3 weeks without having a single donut, but when you want one, suddenly 3 weeks and 1 day go by, you've splurged on two boxes - because you couldn't control yourself & then the desire to eat one kicks in, as it did 3 weeks prior. 𝗦𝗼 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘁. 😅

    When the truth is: Monday you have 1 donut, Wednesday, 1 donut, Friday 1 donut - 3(donuts) x 3days (3weeks) = 9 donuts total >2 dozen donuts.
