First light atop Lombard st💥
Timing and planning are key. I had this day planned out several months in advance so that the sunrise would light up Lombard street. I use @photopills to scout locations and dates for the best light. For the cable car, sometimes you just have to get lucky! #tgif
My newest baby.
Chinatown, San Francisco, on a mellow Sunday afternoon.
24x30 in oil, all palette knife.
Every once in awhile I need a departure from the flowers and beaches in the form of an atmospheric cityscape 🏙
Things we should say to people we love but never do:
it is an honor that we exist in the same space and time didn’t choose to separate us by eons // my world is a better place with your soul in it // laughing with you robs anxiety from my heart // your past is not a threat - it brought you to me // I hope for you, still

Ghost Block | 2015 | Cabernet Sauvignon | Oakville | It’s been a while since we’ve had @ghostblockwine , and it used to be one of our go-to values, now it has gone up a little since we first had it, but nonetheless good to visit an old friend. Notes of blackberries, black cherries, ground coffee, peppercorn, bell pepper, olive, baking spice, toasted oak and mocha. Classic Oakville strength of black fruit with a creamy mid-palate, the tannins are relatively smooth and lifts with just a hint of acidity. Finishes a little more green than we recall other vintages did. Always reliable nontheless, give it an hour decant and it’s ready to go. Enjoy over the next 5-7 years. | 92 points | $68 |
Just hanging out with the coolest photo op ever. We were out grabbing some lifestyle photos of the new Huawei P30 (that I'm also testing out right now with its insane optical zoom) when we came across this pink beauty. Gotta love those unexpected photo moments. Oh and if you swipe, you'll see that 🍟 + 🥗 life in action. 📸 by the insanely talented Angela Lang @cnet
What if we treated every day like it’s Earth Day? 🌎🌼
What are you doing to live a greener, more sustainable life? We aren’t perfect, but we try to think about the environment in every decision we make.
Here are a few things we’ve done:
save meat for special occasions only. A plant based-diet is not only better for your health, it’s also better for the environment! Learn more about the impact of eating meat in the amazing short film Before the Flood (free on youtube) by Leonardo Di Caprio and @NatGeo
recycle plastic bags and food wrapper-like plastic by bundling it in a plastic bag, then putting it in our recycling bin. This is for San Francisco, check to see if your city has a similar option.
have a CSA (farm share) packed with seasonal and sustainably farmed produce from @EatwellFarm and use @RealGoodFish for our fish.
make our own yogurt at home to cut down on plastic use. Interested? There’s a whole post on my blog about it! Let me know and I can DM you the link.
almost never drink bottled water unless we’re traveling internationally. Did you know that most bottled water is actually tap water? That’s best case scenario! When testing for contaminants and impurities, tap water is often CLEANER than bottled water.
use mineral-based reef safe sunscreen.
compost everything – from milk cartons to food scraps to paper towels.
bring our own shopping bags, including smaller bags for produce like apples and oranges.
skip straws and plastic utensils and bring our own instead.
replaced our lightbulbs with LED bulbs that last longer and save energy.
I drive a fully electric car for my commute to the hospital. I’m also saving money on gas over time! Pat commutes by bike.
There are so many small things all of us can do easily that will collectively make a big difference, but one of the biggest things is voting with your dollar! :: Your vote also matters! Elect officials who will take action against climate change. Demand current officials push for strong, effective, science-based legislation that will reduce emissions and make the transition to a clean energy economy. Write a letter to the editor!
// Happy Earth Day people! Got to explore the beautiful Half Moon Bay with this Draft Latte from @lacolombecoffee . They have partnered up with National Park Foundation to donate profits from every #DraftLatte purchase. Since it was super windy outside, I spent most of my time there indoors, but I promise to go back in warmer times. #sponsored , #KeepAmericaWild , #LaColombe@goparks
