Welcome to California, @drewdmat ! Thank you for having me! #Repost@drewdmat
Everyone has been so welcoming since I moved here. But yesterday @hawk_wakawaka ‘s kindness was more than I could’ve imagined. Elaine had a morning master class seminar with top wine educators from Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan and Singapore. The seminar was about how well California wine can age. She messaged me to see if I was free to taste the wine after the seminar, of course I said yes. •
Elaine was my first guest in my new home, I was honored she came yesterday. Luckily I had a couple of wine glasses and makeshift chairs in my still unfurnished house. I would run out of writing room if I tried to list all the ways Elaine is so talented. Her writing, her art, her ability to connect with people. I haven’t been privileged to attend one of her wine educational seminars yet, but I heard from friends that Elaine’s are the best.
The incredible wines she chose were the perfect combination of varieties and legendary producers. •
Some of the highlights for me were @cathycorison ‘s 1998 Kronos Vineyard Cabernet. This is a vintage that critics said didn’t have much potential, but 98s have proven to age beautifully. This wine developed even more complexity tasting later with @jcerda82
The @williamsselyemwinery 1997 Allen Vineyard Pinot Noir. This was one of the last wines Burt Williams made before selling. What a once in a lifetime chance to taste a wine like this.
And the @aubonclimat 2001 Harmony Santa Maria Valley Chardonnay. This wine was in perfect condition with bright acidity, a roundness that Elaine said would lessen if it was colder (she was right), and amazing mineral backbone. I really loved that wine. Thank you so much Elaine for this day I’ll never forget. •

If there was only one tree like that in the world, you would think it was beautiful. But because there are so many, you just can't see how beautiful it really is. ― Betty Smith, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn 🔆 It's officially plein air painting season (time to paint outdoors)! It's so nice to spend a day toiling in the splendor of Central Park. Soon I'll be asking for model volunteers! 😊💕 I think I'll title this piece "A Tree Grows in Manhattan". What do you think?

🔥I’ve always subscribed to the conventional wisdom that said the housing market slows down in the fall and winter months. It’s the time to slow down, relax, enjoy family time, and catch up before the next busy (aka spring) season. To take a little breather from the hustle. LIES! It was all lies! As of November 2, I’m still seeing multiple offers on properties and shrinking days on market. Inventory is still low and buyers are still buying. If you bought into the hype and are waiting for spring to sell your house, call me & I’ll tell you why now is the PERFECT time to list! 👀Especially in 22407!! 👀 This market is still on 🔥

Well here it comes, ready or not! The first freeze of the season. Time to harvest the last of my warm-weather crops: Italian peppers, mini eggplants, jalapeños, and tomatoes (the tomatoes were soooo not photogenic). The green onions and the radishes are super happy though! Everything else is safely tucked under row covers. Sad to see the season come to an end but I’m looking forward to cold weather veggies! #endoftheseason#veggies#growyourown#coldiscoming#embracethecold#heartofthepiedmont#ilovelivinghere
Riding into the weekend like ...... 🎉😀🎉😀🎉 We're going to try and hit one last pumpkin patch before more snow comes on Sunday. ❄ 🎃These poor pumpkin farms have really taken a hit with the early snow. But it's still fun to run around the corn mazes and soak in the beautiful colors of fall. 🍁 🙋🏻♀️What's your favorite part of the pumpkin patch: picking pumpkins, hayrides, or corn mazes? 🙋🏻♀️Leave me your comment below!
Congratulations to the Phil and Janet on the sale of their lovely condo in #Hawthorne ! We enjoyed working with you and appreciate the opportunity to work with you both.
